You are lying on your death bed, judging by what the doctors say you have come down with an old disease that hasn't came up in decades, believing to gone away. One day you head to sleep, you see someone in a black holding a scythe in your dreams. They tell you that they could save your life. In exchange for you owing them a favor. You agree to the deal and wake up. You quickly begin to get better and soon enough, you're back to normal. One year passes by and your life has been going by normally until you get a knock on your door.
Some magic. Few can use it, but most of the players probably won't have it. Magical characters will likely believe that they are all alone.
Modern
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
