Over the years, a lot of people have told me that they weren't sure for awhile how to find their own characters because it wasn't clear to them what the link "Dashboard" meant.
I'm looking for some feedback on renaming "Dashboard" to "Your Stuff". Would this be a clearer label for that section of the site?

Yes, please! It's a little thing, but I've walked many a new person through that very thing over the years - most of the confusion seemed to sit in whether the news feed portion of the site was actually the dashboard or not!
I've got to say that I'm against it. To me, "Dashboard" seems pretty self explanatory.
If anything, it would make more sense, in my opinion, to rename "Home" to something like "Feed"

Renaming seems like a good idea if people are confused, but I'm not sure I like "Your Stuff." Maybe Personal? Status? Control Panel? Roster? Not a huge fan of those either. Maybe something else will come to me. "Your Stuff" would be very clear, though!
i had this problem when i was new too, so i'm all for this!
my suggestion would involve more work, but i can see it eliminating most of the confusion -
do we really need the Dashboard page at all? all it contains is personal groups and characters, and a reiteration of the other pages in the dropdown list. perhaps all those pages (Your Settings, Your Inventory...) could be moved to sit under Home instead, and two extra sub-options can then be added called Your Characters and Your Groups? that way they're immediately visible to newbies.

I really like "Roster." That one sounds nice to me!

That also sounds really good to me as well.

Hmm, I think this would confuse me--I expect a button that says "home" will only ever go to the homepage, not spawn a dropdown!

I agree ^^'
I'm not sure renaming it would do much good. I think you'd be better off just moving 'Dashboard' into the dropdown menu itself. Then it will be more obviously a link and not just a category.
...You know,
I read just the first sentence of the OP. Seriously. I didn't read any of the bold stuff. I was kind of distracted with my phone game. As I was selecting which one of my "friends" in Brave Exvius I wanted to abuse and torture to help me beat up monsters, I was thinking "Maybe just name it 'Stuff', everyone can find their stuff in stuff."
And then I look back. And I see that Kim is all "I was thinking of naming it 'Your Stuff'" and I'm just sitting here like.....
Yep.
Stuff. Stuff is good. Name it stuff.

Stuff is so...meh. It's plain. It gets the point across but meh.
If it has to be changed (even though Dashboard is fairly standard), why not "Your Hub"/"Character Hub"/&c? That's kind of what it is anyway: a hub of our creative things.

I think Your Account would work the best given the stuff the dropdown menu holds. Or at least Your something. Maybe just Account works best.

I was thinking that instead of a rename, characters and groups could get their own tabs, but if that were the case what would clicking Dashboard lead to? It could lead to your feed instead but then what would Home lead to, the news? But then the community page--
Hmmm, I do like the idea of having links in the dropdown for your characters and groups. The dashboard itself could go to a redundant page like an account overview, or maybe a new page. I don't like the idea of a page having little functionality, but I'm sure there's SOMETHING it could do.
I guess what it comes down to is this: are people more confused about what dashboard means, or are they more confused that you can CLICK on "dashboard" once the dropdown menu opens? Or is it an even mix? Because if it's moreso the latter, renaming dashboard might not help much.

do you think it would be clearer if Home was then renamed to Dashboard/Personal/etc?

When I first joined, my issue was that I didn't know clicking dashboard would do anything. Some other site trained me to believe that you can't click the title of a drop-down menu.
i've noticed this being the subject of confusion for a fair amount of newbies, myself included, but i haven't been able to come up with any solution that wouldn't compromise how compact the toolbar is, except for perhaps adding a duplicate Home/Community/Forums etc underneath in the dropdown lists? it'd look a bit weird, but it might work?

if Your Characters/Groups are made into separate pages then there will be no need for the Dashboard page, but then all the stuff under it can be moved under Home (possibly renamed?) instead.
Yes, I have been on this site for actually quite awhile now, and I still get confused at times. This would be very helpful.
