Hello there,
I am RisaXSeph the Lead GM for a writing project that manages a few role plays. We currently have one that is active and is looking for members called DFS Lavie. It is part of a role playing group but not part of that groups story as we write our own custom universe for it. Basically the idea is that it follows a starship and its crew on their adventures and in their lives. The newly appointed Captain of the ship traveled through time and ended up here. Due to her time traveling and her ability to get along with people along with her piloting skills the government gave her command of the ship she was on. Anyway enough about my character and on to the story itself.
The story takes place in an alternate universe in a government called the Galactic Federation. The Federation's history is marred with war and lots of conflicts even though its government tries to convince its citizens everything is peaceful. The universe of now (4566) is ravaged by war as well. The government is mostly corrupt except for the President and her staff (Hukari Carain; she overthrow the previous militaristic government in 4555). Most recently a battle with a terrorist organization called Chaos (terrorists whom used magic to try to bring fear and destruction to Earth) caused conflicts to move closer to Earth resulting in activation of a new special forces unit to assist Delta Force (the special forces branch of the military; it has its own magic unit, mecha unit and marines) which was initially tasked with keeping the peace however an unintended side effect of creation of this new group was more corruption.
The Lavie is a small ship within Delta Force assigned to missions directly by the President and her staff. The small ship also travels the galaxy in search of answers to some of the members of the crew's problems.
Here is a summary of the plot. It is literally written as a summary so some of the information is kind of bland but if it sounds of interest or if people have questions you can view our wiki, our website or contact me and I will be happy to answer any questions. Our website is at lavie.bravofleet.com... Our wiki is at http://tnu.wikia.com. This story is a mixture of different ideas and includes mecha, "magic", strange technology, romance, people living their lives in space and other interesting stuff (like our blacksmith building a sword the size of a room or building a giant robot that can jump from space to shoot things up with a .50 cal machine gun painted in pink with the AI of a small child.) Our RP takes place on Roll20 for people who want to use that, via IM for people who like that or via our forum... Basically this is a hybrid form of game. New players who have never RP'ed are welcomed as are experienced players.
Story Summary – Mission 1: New Experiences
The story begins with Yuka and Kirin arriving in the future. Kirin is eventually found by The Alchemy Commission (The magic police in essence) and put through a trial because of his powerful abilities. He was asked to join the Commission and he accepted. Yuka was doing work for Delta Force after being on the Future Earth for a bit of time on her own and being approached by a recruiter. She soon encounters RINZ (a living mech) whom states that she is his pilot. Wanting to get away from the people she is assigned to and wanting to prevent a fight (becuase they thought RINZ was the enemy) she decides to get in RINZ. She then is taken to the FSS Trident en route RINZ and she is introduced to Lars and his transport ship. Upon arrival on the Trident Yuka is requested by the ship’s Captain whom tells her the cold hard truth of what FSF (the second special forces group; extremely corrupt) does and that she WILL service them. She declines and is attacked by the Captain. She manages to escape his office and return to RINZ leaving the Trident against orders. RINZ and Yuka run off to an asteroid belt and hide. This is when the Lavie is brought in to help search. Kirin is sent to the Lavie to assist in the investigation. Arisa (the past captain of the Lavie) and the crew of the Lavie go out in search and soon find RINZ and Yuka but do not tell the Trident. They allow the two safe-harbor on the Lavie while they figure out what is going on. At this point, Alex Werner (an investigator from fleet command) arrives on the ship and begins to figure out what happened and how the Trident and FSF itself are involved. A battle ensues and Lars ship is disabled so he takes refuge on the Lavie whom manages to disable the Trident and make its way back to Earth.
Story Summary – Mission 2: Where ‘o Where Did Our Station Go?!
After arrival back at Earth no further questions are asked by the FSF as to the situation to not draw attention to what they were doing. Arisa is assigned to work with the President and her staff giving Alex Werner command of the Lavie. An engineer from ITC (insane scientists who work for the government) is assigned to care for RINZ and give him a human body, a new medical officer is assigned to the ship, a new diplomatic officer is assigned to the ship along with a larger security detachment. Yuka agrees to help the new human form of RINZ learn about the human life. The crew soon makes its way to a planet requesting help but during the travel time crew members get to know each other better; specifically, the security staff mingle and train with each other, Yuka and RINZ experience food, love and Yuka is introduced to Lavie the ship’s AI. Jeane Dumont the ship’s Diplomat also helps Yuka through troubles in her life. A body is also acquired for Lavie and Jeane puts her in it like was done with RINZ. Upon arriving at the planet which requested help Yuka, Jeane, Kirin and the Chief Engineer at the time Mark Thorson are sent down to figure out what is going on. Yuka and Jeane find out that a town was being used for experiments. Kirin and Thorson are ambushed and Thorson is killed but Kirin figures out the people behind this conspiracy are trying to develop technology to enter subspace and bend time and space. Kirin destroys the object emitting the field to cause this effect dooming the people already trapped inside but stopping it from ever being used again. Upon debriefing the crew members down on the planet are recovered and the ship makes its way back to Earth.
Story Summary – Mission 3: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
Sophie Archer (a rookie Captain) takes command from Alex Werner when she is reassigned to command a Task Group. Dale Flint from Shadow Fire trains Yuka and Lavie on military conduct and AMC (elite mech) piloting. He also teaches Yuka combat skills. After this horrible training Yuka confides in Jeane more disappointed that RINZ has not been talking with her. Kirin and Sophie spar while waiting on the crews next assignment and Lavie rests after Dale’s training. Multiple crew members are also admitted to medical due to not sleeping for extended periods of time. During this time Jeane is also made the ships First Officer. The ship soon got its orders and began heading for a planet out on the Rim Colonies which send a distress signal but no other information. SAD (the Rim Colonies mech corps) also dispatched a dropship. A few weeks pass until the ship arrives at the planet. Upon arrival Yuka, Jeane and Lavie were sent by Sophie as an advance team to gather information. The girls arrive on the planet noticing that communication will be difficult and that the world is full of blizzardlike conditions. Lavie stays in the shuttle trying to figure out how to resolve the communication problems while Yuka and Jeane head out. They soon meet a Blacksmish who gives them transportation and gives Yuka a special rifle-blade type weapon like a gunblade. The girls soon head onward on their mission and encounter an empty blockade. In the blockade, Yuka finds a book that explains people have been acting oddly here and security forces have been trying to contain whatever is happening. At this point the girls meet Arianna Manomi from Shattered Stars; she is 3 years older and graduated Salmor Academy at this point now working for the SAD Fifth Response Unit. Ari confirms what they already know as her team was attacked upon arrival by people on the planet. Unknown identity mechs made their way toward the group and a battle begins. The group manages to succeed and withdrawal before more mechs could catch up to them but they were separated. Lavie makes her way in the shuttle back with Yuka whom had to be knocked unconscious due to her own stubbornness make their way back to the ship while Jeane and Ari continue retreating from the remaining enemies. Eventually with the help of Tyrone from security the team fought off the mecks and tanks defeating them but the question was still open as to why they attacked. The away team returns to the ship and power fails. Upon restoring power engineering was not able to find the reason for the power failure but the mission must go on so another team consisting of the Jeane, Yuka, Ross (a priest with a gun), Koto (the manic security chief) and Ari was sent down. They stay the night on the planet and begin searching for survivors in the morning. Yuka finds Sirus McCormick a university grad student living on the planet. He helps the away team figure out what happened and locate a government office where local security forces had apparently had a battle. One of the remaining living soldiers informs the away team of a ship crash site that they believe is the cause of all of the strange actions by people. The away team heads there after calling in for additional assistance; the ship sends another security team down and the away team along with their reinforcements reach a group of rioting civilians whom are holding the wreckage. The away team requests the rioters leave the area and a battle ensues. The battle ends in multiple casualties on the side of the rioters. The away team makes its way back to the ship in groups escorting rioters back to the ship and ensuring the area is secure.
Story Summary - Mission 4: Winter Wonderland; the Land We Wish Was Not
The next morning another team is sent down commanded by Yuka Layton and her team begins exploring the crashed ship to find a number of its crew in cryostasis. They rescue the crew only to find that snakes and some form of bugs had taken refuge in the ship; it had apparently been crashed for some time. After completing rescue operations a separate tactical unit is sent down to clean up the crashed ship only to be engaged by the creatures they had found on the ship... They had made it their nest and did not take to kindly to anyone interfering with that. The team is attacked by a giant snake with a lake of snakes following it. Eventually the team has to retreat and the ship bombs the giant snake. The lake of snakes with it were then burned to death by a summon of Kirin's. The crew recover what is left on the crashed ship and leave the planet picking up the pieces with some injuries and the earlier power failure which caused damage to the ship. They begin limping to a space station for assistance and to conduct repairs. Sophie also informs Yuka that the President's Office feels she would make a good Captain and that someone at the station was going to train here. For now though she advised Yuka to observe the crew and learn about them and the rules of being a Captain.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Far future, perhaps galactic teleporters and fast terraforming
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Details: Occasional dice use, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
