He nodded and gently set her down, putting one of her arms over his shoulder to help her.
Camden walked for a while, "Archur, what was near that fort in your nightmare? For all we know, we could be going the wrong way.", she said, stopping for just a moment to lean against Archur.
"Maybe we are going the wrong way, but as long as we're not going towards the, we're alright," he said and looked around, "It looked a lot like this area, but there is a ten mile radius that looks like this area around ground zero."
"Ugh.", Camden complained. By now she had been limping for a while and held out her arms for Archur to pick her up. Her head had also started to hurt again.
Archur complied and carried her just as the moans of the undead came again, this time very loudly and he turned to see the army of them less than 100 yards away.
"How did they do that?!" Archur didn't give either of them a chance to think and took off as fast as he could with Camden in his arms.
"How did they do that?!" Archur didn't give either of them a chance to think and took off as fast as he could with Camden in his arms.
Camden shrieked and put her arms around Archur's neck. "Would it be easier for you to do piggy-back?, she asked Archur, watching the zombies over his shoulder.
He didn't even think and swung her around onto his back and sped up.
"Whoa.", she said, sucking in a startled breath. She put her hands around Archur's neck but made sure he wasn't chocking him and kept looking back to see the zombies getting a little further back each time.
"Look! Up ahead!" he pointed to a concrete structure up ahead.
"You found it!", she said as they appraoched the structure. "Like I said, my hero.", she smiled at him. She lifted up one hand and said, "Even though your the one doing all the running, I feel tired and my head is killing me."
"I'm pretty sure you've got a concussion," Archur said as he set Camden down and pulled the door open. He picked her up and then put her on the only bed and shut the door as fast as he could.
"Probably.", she said, laying down on the bed. "What now?", she asked. Camden was curious as to what they would do if the zombies tried to get in.
He looked around and spotted an RPK-27 LMG on the wall as well as a box full of clips and grenades and let out a sigh of relief. At least everything in his nightmares became real; they were well stocked with food and water and the windows were bullet proof so they would be able to last a while.
"Is it just me or is it a little cold in here?", Camden asked, pulling the covers onto herself and curling up into a little ball. By now she had noticed the gun and grenades and ighed a sigh of relief.
"Try not to bend your leg," Archur said as he walked over to her and tightened the ropes holding the splint in place and looked at her bare foot, which was now getting swollen as well.
"Sorry.", she said, straightening out one leg. She shrugged then straightened the other one and rolled onto her back. She looked up at the ceiling and then pulled the covers almost up to her face.
He started gently rubbing her foot, hoping his cold hands would help with the swelling.
"Are you cold?", she asked him. She still lay on her back on stared up at the ceiling. "How long do you think it will take for my foot to heal?", she asked Archur.
"Other than my hands, I'm fine," he says, "And your leg is probably gonna take a while without proper medical attention and equipment., I'm sure the swelling in your foot will go down sooner or later though," he pressed his thumbs along the arch of her foot, hoping to at least relax her more.
She sat up for a second and looked at Archur, "Okay. I'm sleepy. I may try to sleep before the zombies get here.", she said but she still sat up for a moment.
