Not sure what to say. Decided to browse the world wide web to see if people still did the RP thing. Everywhere I inhabited before seemed to turn into ghost towns after people got more into twitter and online gaming. This seems to be the most active place out of all the delving into Google.

I've always loved reading and writing. The RP thing kind of helped with creativity. Especially when developing characters for stories. I do like Fantasy and some Science Fiction. I did like supernatural stories and settings until it got to the point where nobody wanted any non-Vampire/Were-whatever involved in anything. Humans characters were only created and involved as what someone's character started out as or cannon fodder.

Characters I tend to create are always hopelessly human. Usually scoundrels. All of them relying primarily on their wits and proper application of available tech to see them through a conflict. Each one a bitter shadow of themselves with a deep seated existential dread. However they just put a smile on and sally forth once more unto the breach.

Hoping for a group RP. Although I can do 1x1. Kind of like having a rough story outline at least. A map is especially helpful. I know a map is invaluable when writing. I can cobble together a map, but it would take some time. The map for a project a friend and I were working on took a week to finish. Mostly due to stupid new 2000-whatever Paint that Microsoft peddles now days and the fact that I was adding in individual buildings, streets, bridges, etc.

So I'm up for just about any RP. There are only four details to know if you're going to be dealing with me:
    1) I don't do spaceships or lasers. That's the only science fiction I don't really deal with.
2)My only rule with magic is there are limits. Such as your wizard might be able to shield himself from an arrow with relative easy, but not a 500lb boulder flung by a catapult. Either that or your supernatural creature might be able to shrug off a bullet fired by a handgun but they are not going to survive a direct hit by a howitzer.
    3) If your character is going to be in a pseudo modern/realistic (earth/2017) and they are using tech that you can't just buy off the shelf at [insert local big name GM franchise] at least include a cool reason or explanation as to how they acquired said tech.
    4) My sleep pattern is crazy. Sometimes I sleep like a normal person. Sometimes I sleep like a night owl. Sometimes I don't sleep at all. However I always keep up with my RP. You won't hear "writer's block" from me. I don't think it exists as much as you don't enjoy what you're writing. For the foreseeable future (this year at least) I'll be most active at night.

Things outside of RP that I enjoy? History. The Crusades, The Mongol Empire, and the first World War are my big three. Other than those three its odds and ends about the various periods of unpleasantness around the world.

Edit: Also the name I use is the combination of the names of my two favorite authors. First name being the first name of one. Last name being the last name of the other. Anyone guess who they are? Hint: Both have a book that was adapted into a television series. One of them had a book that was adapted into a movie before it was turned into a series.
Does having rich parents help my guy having a robot skeleton? :P

Hello, I'm new here too, looking to see what this site has for me. I hope we both find what we're looking for.

I like scoundrels too, my old D&D days, I was a Dark Elf Rogue. Real bastard type. That's kinda stuck with me in this guy, Rich Boy, kinda screwed up, looking to make up for it but...he's having issues with how far he's going to do it as, it's all new.

Guess rich parents would. Money is a super power I suppose. Got to pay for all that R&D some how.

Scoundrels are the best. Whether they be a soft-hearted devil or otherwise. Redemption is always plus too.
I know, I mean, who doesn't want to be Han Solo? :P
Hey Stephen, welcome to RPR! :)

Do you have any questions about the site or need assistance with anything?

(Also to answer your question: Stephen King and maybe...Bernard Cornwell? I believe those are the names. I could be wrong.)

No questions as of yet.

You got Bernard Cornwell right. It's a different Stephen though.

Hello and welcome to RPR! I hope you make lots of friends and enjoy your time here!
Welcome to RPR! I hope you find what you're looking for here. It can be a pain to find active roleplaying forums these days.

Hopelessly human characters are some of the most interesting to me (along with hopelessly non-human characters who exist more as abstractions or concepts, if that makes any sense). Also, hello fellow history fan! Give me a shout if you do end up starting a group roleplay. It sounds like it would be interesting.

Nope. Not Stephen King. Even though I did enjoy his works back when I read them. Salem's Lot was my favorite. I suppose I could throw out another hint. This author by the name of Stephen's main character's father traveled to Iwo Jima, Hot Springs, and Cuba.

Yeah. I'm always late when I find one. They always turn into ghost towns months prior by the time I discover them.

I enjoy them the most. Requires a lot more work to bail them out of trouble or have them go toe to toe with supernatural creatures. Whenever I write using them there is never any super strength or magic to save them. Usually their saving grace consists of the big bad standing beside a backpack of HME placed at the beginning of the story or standing under that large object hanging/balancing precariously overhead that the main noticed several pages previously.

I've got one listed in the find RP. Medieval fantasy planned. Feel free to join. Love your avatar by the way.
Welcome to RPR! I must admit I'm pretty guilty of using human characters as a starting point, but I've started to steer away from that some when I realized that there's a lot of things you can do with more mundane people, too!
Welcome to RPR! I hope you're having fun here! :)
