Ordinarily, I wouldn't do 2 forums this close together but I have noticed something about my background art. 1, 2, and 3 point perspective NORMAL backgrounds are okay LINE ART drawing for me. (thank you rulers in manga studio 5! ) It just takes me days longer than characters for obvious reasons. One being lack of practice. Also, unlike characters, I have trouble coloring backgrounds. Mainly deciding on what appropriate base colors to use. However, just doing normal backgrounds would defeat the purpose of this forum. So here's what I was thinking: you can give me a background style idea. Ancient, futuristic, modern, etc.
Include interior or exterior design and to add a bit of creativity to the backgrounds: Include 3 random everyday items. The thinking is to make a background design based off the 3 chosen items.
If exterior: specify area: Swamp, Wasteland, Cliffside, Cityscape etc.
UPDATE
This will all be done in manga studio. Sketch, ink and colored final pic will be uploaded. (No NSFW items)
These will not be done overnight.
Also, please don't include reference pictures. Description only.
Example: Futuristic Exterior Background. 3 items: Cell Phone, Knife, Keyboard

2.Heimdall

I'm always willing you help you out, as long as I get to see your amazing art
I'm just confused on how much we're allowed to describe. Are we only allowed to say what era it is and whether it's interior or exterior, or can we get more detailed? Is it the same with the items?

I was thinking about designing fantasy type buildings and backgrounds based on whatever 3 items people chose. The interior and exterior is just a broad example. You can get as detailed as you want, I just don't want any reference pictures because it defeats the purpose of creativity.
Okay, well I'll give it a shot. Just tell me if I'm going too far.
How about a horizon at sunset, with two crossed swords stuck in the ground, and a mask lying on the ground in between where the swords crossed?
I dunno, it sounded cool in my head.
Oh yeah, and if you haven't already started, I was taking about a face mask that would be used to conceal someone's face.
Something like this, or maybe the image under it.

Way to make me feel inferior, Heimdall
Yours is so much more professional than mine.
Sounds nice! I'd feel honored to have a background done for me, specially since I can't draw them ;v;
What about the interior of interior of a marine grotto? With reefs and corals...I don't know if they have an specific name :'D
As for the objects, perhaps an harpoon, a fishing net, and a wrecked canoe? Those are the ones that I thought would fit the best, but of you would rather use coral structures or such be my guest!

Yours is super cool too though, it sounds like a book cover
*blinks* Uh... okay. I have no idea what those are. I will have to google them. But that just to find out what they are. xD
Also!
UPDATE
This will not be done on pencil and paper. Tried it... did not turn out right. I draw muuuuch better on manga studio than with pencil and paper. Sorry for any inconvenience guys. However, I will upload the sketch, inking, and colored pic.
