Mistress Owl landed on the ground, dust turning up around her. Her wings folded against her back and she had her double ended scythe out. Her mask his her eyes but she could still see everything. Her eyes watched everything like a hawk and she started walking, her golden boots leaving bird prints.
She counted her steps.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six...
She counted her steps all the way to one hundred and then stopped. A crowd of people stood in front of her with swords, guns, katanas, etc. Mistress Owl knew what exactly what they wanted.
Her wings.
Her kind was rare to find. Half human and half human half owl? Very rare. She sighed, removing her hood to reveal her blonde hair.
"You won't get them." Mistress warned, "Now step away before I spill your blood on my blades."
One of them pointed their sword at her, the blade nearly touching her nose. "Give us your wings. It will help us with food and our village!"
She sighed, moving the word aside with one clawed hand. "Must I warn you yet again?" She asked.

The man who had pointed the sword at her plopped to the ground, headless.
She looked at them. "Now, if I were you, I would step aside. Unless you want to join your friend here." She said, gesturing to the dead man. They all stepped aside for Mistress Owl and she smiled nodding in thanks. She walked past them and one man charged at her, yelling a battle cry and she spun around and her claws sliced his throat open. He let out choking sounds and she looked over at the other people. The man fell to the ground and she showed no mercy whatsoever.
She turned around and started walking, leaving the people dumbfounded.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
Modern
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.

A beautiful dragon was flying through the air weak when she saw mistress owl cutting the men.she then flew down to her and hid behind her"would you protect me?" She said as a knight came at her and mistress owl yelling "Slaye that dragon!!"

Mistress Owl noticed the young dragon fly down behind her and ask a question.
Mistress Owl did a spin attack and yelled over the commotion. "No one is killing anyone." She said, looking at the fairly adept looking knight. "I would recommend walking away if you want to lose your arms and head too, sir."

U'ludra was walking past the rather unsavoury scene, observing the dance of death being preformed in front of him. He had a baby with him, the child was inside a small woven cot he held in his off hand, U'ludra hides himself in the background, finding the scenario rather exciting to watch.
