Yeah, unleashin' my inner nerd.
Does anyone write stories? Fanfiction or their own orginal work? Has anyone heard of a site called Archive of Our Own?

I used to write general stories, yes, but I haven't heard of that site before. Why do you ask?
(Don't get me wrong, I still write in my spare time, but only of a more mature nature than general all-ages stuff.)

I love AO3's interface, and all the options to properly filter. Migrated from Fanfiction.net ages ago, but I don't really read a lot of fanfiction. Only when I'm in a hype-mood for a few days or so. All the same, I don't actually write fanfiction. I tried it once, but I ended up leaving it be because I feel very uncomfortable using/writing characters canon to a series/not my own.

I write stories. I've written lots. Its fantasy and I'm making a lot of books. I made my own races. My own creatures. My own land and hometown. And I had a lot of help with this site. It helped me with some names for clans and I had permission. I wasn't stealing.
Now, even though I write a lot for a young age like me, I can write about four thousand words in one day. Sometimes I spend after school hours writing and I write more than my siblings and I'm a really experienced writer. I used to write obnoxious stuff but I got serious on April eleven at two pm and so this April is my anniversary of becoming a great writer.
Nonetheless, I'm not a fan fiction writer but I am writing a fanfic. I'm only three chapters in.
But this site has LotR, D&D, LoZ, ME (Mass Effect), GoT (ASoIaF), Halo, Star Trek, Magic the Gathering, Final Fantasy XIV, etc.
But there's a lot of generators and it really helped me and got me really far. I haven't used some of the generators due to my crappy internet but when I can load the generators I will. I used a lot of the generators though.
I'm not great at word definitions but sometimes I read the dictionary for fun and I learn some new stuff.
Hehe, I feel like I'm killing you from talking so much sooooo.... I'll just stop right here.

Read at your own risk.

Oh, I love writing fanfics. Used to be on FF.net but A03 is where it's at now.
I use to use FF.net, but stopped, because of the low quality fanfics. Sure, there are some good ones that rise, but they are over shadowed by golden turds that waft in the section. Plus I write allot of angst for Gunvolt, so my angst isn't really welcomed on FF.net.
Wattpad scares me.

How does it scare you? I'm even nervous to go on there but, why does it scare you?
I'm not into fan fiction whatsoever . . . but I have a QuoteV account. I usually post my stuff on there. I haven't heard of that site before . . . interesting. I usually write rather dark, humor, sci-fi, sometimes supernatural or even fantasy. All my work is my own, including the made up names, I don't use name generators. I would never call myself a good writer . . . mostly because I usually get bored just sticking to one story. I've only ever finished two stories, all the others are WIP.
I've written a fair bit, my two stories that I've finished over 30 thousand words long. Short compared to other books in the world, and horrible too. My ideas are rather unique though. At least I haven't seen my ideas going around. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL, I have not read every book in the world or watched every movie so I have no clue to know if perhaps my ideas are similar. UGH, I stop here.

I saw horror and cringe.
Now that I have read this thread, that reminds me of the fact that I have a MASH fanfic I need to work on...
*gets to work finishing Chapter 4*
ETA [edited to add] that it's on AO3. "War-Crossed."

I'll give it a look!
I found some fanfics based off a movie I liked. I feel kind of happy.
