Ariadne sat in her car, yawning widely with her partner Martin Rock in the passenger seat. He looked at her as she watched the bar closely for anything suspicious.
"Adne, are you like, having a staring contest with the pub?" Martin asked.
Ariadne looked at him as she sipped her coffee. "No, why?" She said.
Martin shrugged, sipping at his own coffee cup. "Well you're just staring at the building like it's going to explode-"
"Martin." Ariadne said, tilting her head as she gave him a look. "Just because I'm watching the building we're supposed to watch, doesn't mean I'm having a staring contest with it."
Martin shrugged, sipping his coffee again. "Well why don't we just go inside and see what's going on."
She raised an eyebrow. "Aren't we supposed to stay inside the car?"
"No." He said. "My ass is numb."
Ariadne rolled her eye and then got out of the car. "'Kay, let's go." She said crossing the street and towards the pub. "Our suspect is Hank Walker, right?"
"Yup." Martin said, sipping the last of his coffee and throwing the cardboard cup away.
Ariadne barged into the pub, Martin coming in behind her. Ariadne walked over to the counter and took out her badge, stating her name and showing the badge to the bar tender.
"Detectives Ariadne Black and Martin Rock. We're looking for s Hank Walker. He comes here around this time of night."
Silence washed through the pub as all eyes fell on Ariadne and Martin. To be honest, Ariadne didn't mind the eyes on her, but every once in a while, a little less attention would be nice. But getting the attention was what a detective needed to find out things.
A couple minutes later, shots rang out. Everyone screamed and Martin and Ariadne dropped to the ground, taking their guns out and then trying to find out where the shots came from.
A blur passed by and out of the pub. Ariadne took her chances and ran after the blur. She went full sprint after the suspect. She wasn't going to let her suspect get away. Again.
She aimed her gun at the figure and then a shot rang out. But it wasn't from her gun. Pain surged through her side and she screamed, falling to the ground. Her hair covered her face and the parson on the suspect's side ran off after their buddy. She didn't know where Martin was, but she guessed he was back at the pub telling everyone to remain calm.
Ariadne Put a hand to her hip and she saw blood. "Well damn..."

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
