All Hitchhiker's Guide memes aside, it's not all that far from the truth, I suppose.

So! While I'm definitely new to RPR (obviously), I'm kind of old hat at roleplaying myself - I've been RPing, both freeform and actual RPGs, for over twenty years now, and have absolutely no plans to stop any time soon. I have a preference for fantasy and magic in my RPG, even when it comes to stuff like modern settings or science-fiction, and I have a soft spot for crossovers - the more inappropriate, the better. I'm also pretty into anime, and anime-esque stuff (RWBY is boss, 'nuff said).

Apart from freeform, RPG systems I've enjoyed have been: Pathfinder, Dungeons & Dragons (as recent as 4th ed all the way back to the OD&D red booklets), BESM (didn't care for 3rd ed, though), Shadowrun, Mutants & Masterminds, FATE, and far too many homebrew systems to count.

Generally speaking, I prefer play-by-post to RP through chat; I just don't have as much uninterrupted time to sit down as I used to. Hopefully this is the sort of place for forum RP - I guess I'll find out one way or another.

Welcome to RPR! Post-by-paragraph and tabletops are both very common here, so I'm sure you'll be able to find something that suits your tastes. If you have any questions about the site mechanics, just ask!

Also: Hitchhiker's Guide and RWBY are both very good things.

Welcome! We definitely have forum RP as our bread and butter here, though when it comes to chat, we have kind of a hybrid system where you can convert any forum topic into a chat if you happen to have everyone together at one time for some faster posting.

Hybrid forum/chat, huh? That's actually kind of interesting. Must've been hell to code on the backend, though.

Welcome! It's been awhile since I've done any D&D table top, but I loved PF. I also got into World of Darkness (Vamps, werewolves, wraiths, oh my!) campaigns which is generally my genre of choice.
