So... I know it's been out for a week already, but is anyone else incredibly hyped about this game? It's basically everything I've ever wanted in a Legend of Zelda game. The sheer scope of the game is just huge, the physics are consistent... it's just awesome.

I'm incredibly hyped about almost any Nintendo game this year, BotW is going to be AWESOME, if I ever get to play it.
I absolutely love this game! I haven't played much yet, but the open world aspects are absolutely incredible!

They are, aren't they? I don't want to talk too much about plot details because I don't actually want to spoil anything, but it occurs to me that the game itself is basically a training primer on 'how to run a sandbox RPG'; provide a big map with plenty to do, give your players a vaguely defined quest, and then just turn them loose on the world and sit back to watch the mayhem.

I know it'd be rather derivative, but I kind of want to play a BotW-inspired RP now.
Exactly. I just love it so much. And, I mean, I'd be up to trying an rp like that.

I've still got to figure out what I'd want out of such a thing and whether or not I'd want to run it freeform or as a D&D type thing, but if I ever do get my thoughts in order I'll definitely float the idea past you first, if you like.
I would love that.

I'm really excited for the game! My friend said he wasn't excited for the game andi was like, whaaaaat.

But I heard there's a lot of detail in the game. Its 3D with amazing detail. I want to see the trailer like I saw the trailer for Twilight Princess.

I want the game so bad, but I already have Skyward Sword but I would DIE for this game.

I have a Twilight Princess character, I wouldn't mind doing a BotW inspired roleplay. I would be so happy to play the game to understand, as some people I rp with as my TP character don't understand, which saddens me.

I've realized I reallyyyy geek out on this stuff, and BotW is driving me crazy. Legend of Zelda games are like a drug.

Some people hate LoZ games saying they are too dark or just boring, I think they are amazing, honestly. And instead of wearing green, Link is wearing blue in BotW.

He looks great in blue, honestly.

OMG I'm SO excited. I think I want to save up for that game. Oh, and Hyrule Warriors. I want to play that game too.

Hyrule Warriors: Also awesome. A very very different experience than your standard Legend of Zelda game, but still entertaining. It's a lot more hack and slashy and there's no real dungeon exploration, but still fun.

I heard it it a good game. Zelda wears AWESOME clothing. :)
This game is totally my jam right now! So much to explore, so many weapons, SO MUCH RIDICULOUS DEATH!

I love it.

Edit: I just shield parried lasers from two different guardians. You can absolutely do that. It was awesome.
Hyrule Warriors was also a pretty sweet game, but I am so in love with Breath of the Wild right now.

I haven't played all the Zelda games, but damn, Breath of the Wild is crazy!! I'm addicted! Though I use way too much time to just mess around, haha! I haven't managed to do much of the plot line yet, because I'm too easily distracted, haha!

My. Gosh. I love this game too much. So much.
Having been a long time fan for many, many years, the moment we saw trailers for this game, I was hooked. Years and years I've waited to play this, and what can I say? My dreams have been fulfilled, and then some.

Every fine detail of this game is fine-tuned. So amazingly fine tuned. After having studied game design for a year as well, I've come to greatly respect the efforts that developers put into their games. And by golly, by how precise the physics are in this game (From making fire move in the direction of the wind, and each object having their own weight and effect) is just. Wow. Gosh.

But enough of that nerdy stuff, overall? This is one of the best games artistically that I've seen in a long time. Not to mention, I love a lot of the characters in this game, which is odd for me. I only tend to like the main character and that's it, but I practically fell in love with how charming the characters are in this. Not to mention, this game pulled on my heart strings quite a bit too.

I consider it therapeutic to play at times, too. Especially given the cooking mechanic and how you can look after your horse by feeding it apples. Yes, I've fed my dear horse a lot of apples, especially after she's taken a hit by monsters. (Which I've promptly shown no mercy after they did. Ugh. Even that pulls on my heart a bit.)

I am so excited to find out everything this game has to offer. <3

DID SOMEBODY SAY ZELDA BREATH OF THE WILD?!

That game is the best in the world. I can't say much about the game since well I haven't played much but still, it's an awesome game and I've gotten a bit of plot done
*Sobs tears of happiness*
I JUST BEAT THE GAME LIKE THREE DAYS AGO GUYS.
andIwantmore. So much more.

SOoooooo I'm picking up from my pre-boss-battle save file and doing more exploring, side-quest completion, etc!! <3
I really can't wait until the end of the year (nngh so far away) when the extra story DLC comes out!!

This game was really more amazing than any of the other Zelda games I've played, and Twilight Princess has been a long-standing favorite of mine.

Did you see the post credits scene, or do you still have that to work towards?

Either way, I'm looking forwards to the summer DLC as well; Trial of the Sword looks neat, as do the floating platforms, but what I'm really interested in is the Hard Mode. It's a great excuse to replay. ^_^

I did stay for the post credits scene! All my time with Marvel movies taught me that ;)

What I really found myself wishing for was some extra end-game play, where you could go around in the post-Calamity world. It would've been some really nice closure to the game.
I guess that's what I'm feeling, personally I didn't find that the end of the game gave me enough closure. The boss battle was not as hard as I expected, just annoying, and when it was over I was like '...wait...it's over? Like the entire game is over?' That's why I can't wait for the extra story DLC at the end of the year.

Dude this game has so much replay value. Like oh my word. I wanna get ALL the things, legit. Find all the shrines, upgrade all the armor, get all the sets....Yes please!

I'm really hoping that the reason for the delay on the second DLC is that it really is going to be additional post-game story, which would be pretty damn sweet.

I'd also be okay with a storyline that takes place during the time of the original champions; that'd be pretty cool too.
