Hmm, maybe my character would be a prisoner on the starkiller's ship? They would probably want to experiment on him if he appeared on their ship.

Bad idea. Your character would be dead. The Iblis have NO sustainable food source and eat the stragglers and evacuees of the worlds thrown in chaos to survive. Please have "no knowledge" of this IC, only OOC.

Do what you feel comfortable with. The original storyteller (me) has to adapt to what the characters decide to do, not to specific details and set plot.
