Gale Elwood (played by Ashley)

Okay! A 'Meet-n-Greet Tavern RP' is a low pressure group RP that happens in a neutral setting. Lets say, an inter-dimensional tavern that literally anyone from anywhere can fall into. Any genre, OCs, fan characters, anything goes. Sound good? Good.

Where does this RP take place?
An inter-dimensional tavern, just in case you skimmed what I wrote above.

What does the tavern look like?
A standard tavern. Wooden floor boards, booze, sits alone on a road in the wilderness, tables in the back, rafters above because roleplayers need rafters to sit on like they need food.

Can I join?
Yes! You can.

Is my OC okay for this?
Yes! It is.

Anything else I should know?
--This is an icebreaker sort of RP for folks who just kinda wanna play but don't know what they want.
--It's going to be MESSY. There may be a dinosaur and a WWI veteran sitting at the same table. Tavern RPs never make sense, just embrace it.
--Turns are on a basis of who you're interacting with. There is no turn order, not really. If you take too long to post or it makes sense to skip you, you will be skipped.
--People are gonna be coming and going OOCly, just enjoy the RP you can get while you can get it.
--There is no quality bar. First timers welcome. Just jump in and play.

The bar tender looks like Liz Taylor from American Horror Story because why not.

Gale didn't know where he was. He didn't know how he'd gotten there, how he was going to get home, or how long that was going to take him to figure out. All of these things should have been cause for concern, but, this wasn't his first rodeo. He'd been lost before. He'd manage.
Instead of stressing over it he'd found a chair and table against the far back wall and was all but asleep. He had his boots propped up on the table edge, his arms folded around his walking staff and a hat over his face. He was the picture of a western stereotype.

(omg this takes me back, thank u)

"WOW," Ray exclaimed as she found her way in. "Take a goddamn gander at this place, huh?"
She was a red-haired young lady with a patch over one of her eyes. She wore a bomber jacket over a ruffled shirt and the sleeve of her jacket was totally cut off, revealing the runelike tattoos covering her arm, (which was also cut off at the elbow.)
There was nobody behind her, so I guess she was just talking to herself? Gotta get that sweet sweet attention.
Oriana found herself in a strange tavern late one evening. She'd been visiting a village to gather supplies, wearing her traveling clothes, hood covering her stark white hair, when she decided to enter a shabby-looking building on the outskirts. Her dragon, Nubia, had stayed half a mile outside of the city, so not to panic the village folk. However, the inside of the sandstone and clay structure turned out to be something far from her expectations.

The look of the place was foreign, with furniture built into shapes she'd not seen before, or at least not in those styles. The patrons within, including the bar tender, looked strange to her, especially in regards to the region she knew. However, the young woman had always been one for adventure, so she didn't shy away from the strange atmosphere as perhaps a sane person would have done, in such a situation. No, she stepped away from the doorway, eyes full of wonder and curiosity, pulling her hood back to get a better view.

Not many people sat or stood in the room, though Oriana did notice--her gray eyes scanning across tabletops--an older gentleman in one corner, perhaps sleeping, and a strangely-dressed woman with an eye patch and bright, red hair.

"A glass of arak, please," she requested of the bar tender. It had been a while since she'd last had a drink besides stale, well's water or goat's milk, which she mostly drank for the energy, as the flavor she didn't care for. She sat down in a seat at the counter, eying the equally odd host, then turned her head to the woman.

"Love your tattoos," she commented, grinning as she rose her right arm, showing off her golden tattoos depicting roses and vines.

Gale turned his head and his hat almost didn't turn with him. It was still resting over half of his face and as ridiculous as that looked he did nothing to fix it. He could see fine with just the one eye, thank you very much.
"Already did. I don't suppose either one of you knows where we are?"
Gibbit (played by Degu)

A young swamp troll, just over the cusp of manhood, pushed his way into the tavern hesitantly. He'd been living and traveling in the forest for a couple of years now but sometimes he found his way back into civilization. The more pleasant experiences he'd had were finding little roadside taverns like these.

He hovered in the doorway and dusted down his green and clay coloured robes and looked around the room as if assessing it for dangers, risks. The place didn't look particularly different to the taverns in the world he was from, however the patrons certainly didn't look very local.

Gibbit took a few steps forwards on bare, mud dusted feet and eyed Ray and the runes on her arm. But that jacket...what was it made of? it looked so strange. Her clothes were odd to him. Something was odd about this tavern but being from a place with similar architecture it was taking him a good while to place what was wrong.

After ordering a brandy from the unsettling bar tender, the young troll made his way over towards the tables at the back, sitting one away from Gale and the others in conversation. Taking a tentative drink from his brandy he glanced over at Gale and Oriana, amber eyes flicking between them both, just in time to hear the question. Surely they knew where they were? He listened for the moment, turning his head and producing a journal from his satchel to idly flick through his notes and diagrams (all of plants).
Deveze Virel Kline (played by LuminousGhost)

She'd been on the road for days; and now seeing this damned tavern, she couldn't believe her luck! Deveze needed a rest like no other and a good drink to help ease out rising anxieties. Her entrance would be accompanied by a small wind that would usher inside, but end once the door was shut behind her.

The atmosphere was cozy with the standard torch light and evening faire and the new faces were taken in by blue iridescent eyes peeking out from beneath her cowl, hovering briefly on the swamp troll and speaking individuals. Entering with a long staff on her back, a burned diamond at the head of it, she'd collapse at the first seat she could find and take to staring out from the corner for the moment, a hooded figure staring out from the corner (not being the least bit sketchy, no).
((I guess I'll go ahead and reply; hello everyone!))

Oriana's eyes widened when another entered the tavern, her head jerking to watch them enter. A strange, inhuman-looking individual graced their presence, and Oriana wasn't sure what to make of it nor whether or not she should prepare to defend herself against it. Her hand rested on the handle of a small knife at her belt, but she removed it after the large individual spoke to order a drink. She didn't recognize the mythical creature, though she had heard of humanoid ones roaming about. Maybe this was one of them. Best to not judge based on appearances. She watched it sit down and her attention returned to the older gentleman in the corner after he spoke.

"Where....?" Oriana arched her brow as she looked at the man who seemed a bit more like a talking hat at the moment. "I coulda sworn I was in a village on the outskirts of Afrana. You've got me second guessing, though. Doesn't look like the type of place...and... you guys don't look like locals." She squinted her eyes as she looked around the room again, incredulous.

Another entered the tavern, and the glowing eyes from under the hood certainly inspired intrigue, so Oriana almost forgot what she was talking about. She waved a hand at the now-seated individual. What a strange crowd in this even stranger bar.

(hi!!)

Ray turned full around to give Oriana a grin, then admiring the stranger's own tattoos, her good eye widening. "By anyone who's listening - so are yours! Beautiful, I mean. I would've loved to have flowers instead, but duty calls." With obvious delight, she watched more newcomers come in.
At Gale's question, she moved towards him, eyeing the rafters and the walls. "This, mister, is a tavern. A magic one, by the sounds of it." She spoke and moved with confidence, as if she knew more than she actually did. To add to her odd persona, she seemed to have the hilt of a sword hanging from her belt - no blade, just the hilt.

Gale pulled his hat fully off his face and leaned forward enough to toss it on the table, then leaned back again.
"Well yeah I can see that. I guess a better question would be, where are all of you from?"
If they all said a bunch of names he didn't recognize, he could gauge how screwed he was. He'd never heard of an Afrana, so he had a hunch he already knew what the overall answer was going to be.
Tenjian - The Frozen Blade (played by Asroc)

{Pardon the puns... Mind if I break the Ice?}

"Not I have any other choice..."

His voice tone was rather soft. He entered a tavern, his feet meeting the wooden floor boards. Tenjian was his name, a master of ice and snow. He was never fond of humans, after what they done to him in his childhood. Poisoning him when they offered him food and a place to stay. He has met some 'good' humans, though. Ones that had no real ill to his kind.

Pulling off his coat he wore over his shoulders, he casually placed it on the back of it and sat on a chair. Resting a hand on the side of his face, the male sighed softly, wondering what he could have to drink.
Gibbit (played by Degu)

Frowned as he took a small drink of his brandy. It made a nice change to water, even if it burned his throat. "Afrana...? No we're...in the Forest near Merleton, aren't we?" he asked and then stood up again rather abruptly "It should be right out there..." he made his way over toward what looked to be a window with his drink in hand.

The troll yanked back the curtain or whatever might cover it to look outside. The forest would be there, wouldn't it? He knew the sheer possibility that it wasn't. He'd been part of a mage school for long enough...that was why it was worrying him.
Deveze Virel Kline (played by LuminousGhost)

Deveze rose a brow at Oriana's wave, prompting a single gloved hand to peek out from her baggy cloak and give a twitch of a wave. The tall cloaked figure rose to her feet as she caught her second wind, and shuffled towards the bar. Staying on the outskirts of the slowly gathering individuals, she'd listen without a word yet; asking for a brandy with a slight Gaelic lilt. As Gibbit would get up and check the window, the pupiless eyes would follow him, lingering towards the sliver of clear space the pull back of the curtain offered.

Once her drink was set down, she'd gather it and skirt the edges of the light, staying towards the shadows to darken that inner hood, she'd note the world outside she found had seemed to change from where she'd come from. "Unusual." She'd mutter around the rim of her tumbler after picking it up and taking a seat closer to the patrons, back to the wall and observing them now, eyes flicking subtly from person to person as they spoke or moved about.
Oriana returned the grin of the red-haired woman, eyes smiling at the comment. She didn't often see others outside of royalty in her kingdom with tattoos, so it was nice to see someone similar to her. Perhaps the woman was royalty of some sort, too? She held a hand to her face to stop herself from laughing at the woman's answer to the older man. Oh, yes, she did like her. Magic, though, was an exciting topic to consider. She'd not been around it, personally, but had heard of it before. Wasn't well-practiced in her area, but this did seem like the type of place that would have it, if nothing else.

Another entered the bar shortly after the older man had asked his question. Oriana looked from the now hatless man to the strange individual of a species she did not know as he spoke. The bar tender placed her drink beside her a couple of minutes before, but she'd not noticed it until she turned her head to watch the other man sit down. She picked it up and gingerly sipped it, finding it not quite as good as what she had at home. Regional differences, probably.

"Well, I'm from Afrana. Never even heard of ... Merleton, wherever that is. No forests for miles, either... at least not where I came in from," she added, a bit unsure, frowning. She leaned back to see if she could have a look out the window, too. Wherever they were, she was pretty sure it wasn't where she'd been before.
Golden Kids (played by koroni)

Before Ray could answer Gale's question, she found her attention drawn to Gibbit walking past her. She followed behind him so she could see outside herself. She had a feeling she wouldn't be anywhere near where she got in.
She leaned away from the window to comment loud enough for the others to hear her, "I hope this thing works backwards, eh? Hope we're not trapped." She added that last part softer.
Ray pushed some hair over her shoulder, looking over the people in the tavern once more. "Huh. Not sure either of those places ring a bell." She kept a small smile on her lips, shifting her weight from foot to foot.

Without opening his eyes, Gale chimed in again.
"Well, I'm from Oregon. And I've never heard of any of the places you're from. I opened a stable door and ended up here instead." He figured no one was going to know what Oregon was, so there was no point in going into detail. They'd either recognize the name, or wouldn't.
Tenjian - The Frozen Blade (played by Asroc)

Maybe he should make himself known? A friendly greeting? His neutral expression curved into a friendly smile. His eyes remained shut, but his expression looked rather gentle and kind.

"I should at least say something, so I do not come off as rude..." The white haired male said in a rather soft tone, "The name is Tenjian. I came from a far away land. However, I have stumbled across this place, I could use a drink, if you have anything fine for someone such as myself."

He didn't make eye contact, but he did try to join in the conversation.
Aidan Kilhern (played by Weeburd)

Of all the places she'd been and the paths she'd walked, it took a lot to surprise the small woman. Walking into what she thought was a barracks only to wind up in a tavern certainly did it, though.

Originally the redhead had intended on asking the guard captain for employment but she supposed replacing that with a nice drink and a relaxing chat wouldn't hurt too badly. Maybe she'd misheard the directions... which would be odd for her, but it could happen. As she paused briefly to make sure the door was closed -manners dictated you closed it quickly when the weather was foul- it seemed as though the place was a little lively. Faces she didn't recognise, accents she didn't quite recall and clothes as varied as anything.

The woman herself was a tiny thing only a lick above five feet tall -and that was only thanks to her boots- with rich, gingery hair and a smattering of freckles that would put a dappled horse to shame. Meadow-green eyes peered out of soft, rounded features as she made her way to the bar. She wore a soft, brown leather waistcoat that hung halfway down her thighs, under which she wore a collared blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up just past her elbows and fingerless gloves covered her hands. They bore a golden disc on the back of her hand and embroidered golden lines trailed from it, should you look close enough. Black pants were half hidden by black leather boots brightened up by a blue spatter-guards that covered them from foot to just below the rim.

All in all she was neat, orderly but not at all imposing for the time being. Not even the barwoman made her falter as she made her way to the bar and asked for coffee laced with brandy in a rich, melodic voice*. A combination pick-me-up and alcohol was sure to shake her up.

Being sure to thank the woman the redhead took her drink and made her way to a seat as she listened to the conversations going on around her; it was rude to jump in on someone else's chat when you'd only just walked in. Finding an empty table she set her drink down and slipped into her seat, leaning on her folded forearms as she properly looked around.

((*she has a rich Irish accent but as Reilan has no Ireland it's hard to explain, ahah. Can also speak totally-not-Gaelic too.))
Oriana could see nothing out the window that she recognized and frowned. They'd better not be stuck in a tavern forever. She had more important things to do than drink and talk to all the strange people, even though some of them did seem like polite and proper company (at least in her eyes).

The older man replied with the name of some foreign land or country, to which she shrugged and shook her head. Nope. These strangers were pretty far from home, and it seemed she was, too. Her attention moved to a white-haired guy off to her side. He spoke, and she nodded slowly in response, her eyes drifting once more to the window where the three others had gathered.

"Oriana," she said, watching the bar tender as she waltzed over to take his order. She sipped her own drink again and twisted the ends of her hair in her spare hand. "Wonder what happens if someone opens the door." Not that she wanted to test it out for herself right at that moment, but worrying about her dragon, she thought maybe she just might try it.

((I'll probably be off to bed momentarily, so feel free to skip me as needed~))
Gibbit (played by Degu)

Gibbit sighed a little, big ears drooping as he peered out the window at whatever was out there, assuming it wasn't where he'd come from "I don't know any of those places..." he dare not check the door right away, lest he be trapped in a rift with no way home. He could leave that till later.

Instead, the kid made his way back and dropped down to sit at the table, taking a long drink from his brandy and stiffing a cough at the burn. Sure, he was no seasoned drinker, that much was apparent.

"Do they have other trolls in Oregon? or... Afrana? ...or wherever any of you are from" he asked with curiosity, nodding over to Tenjian lightly "Hello sir." Introductions maybe were in order. The young man offered a tusky smile and offered his hand to each person nearest to him in turn, Gale, Oriana and probably Ray.
