“Yeah, let’s avoid that. I’m sure that’d hurt.” She laughed, turning to the boat. “It looks like they’re trying to get our attention, doesn’t it?”
"Yeah, I don't get any dangerous vibes from it...what should we do with that?" Kyoya asked as an unintelligible voice comes from inside the boat.
"..Get closer?" Moon wasn't sure it'd be a good idea should there be sea monsters, was confident they'd be able to overcome any if they showed up.
Kyoya nodded in response, creating a fireball with his ring as a precaution. As they got closer, the voice could be understood.
"Since when do shades and humans hang out together?" The voice said in a teasing manner.

Maybe he's a drudge? the other supplied.
"What are these things going on about?" Kyoya asked, understandably confused.
"Maybe he's trying to get to second base with her? Who knows?" It said, laughing a bit.

"He better watch it! Shades can literally steal hearts with their magic."
Moon crossed her arms and pouted. "We rarely do that anymore.."

"Judging by his face, I think she already has stolen his heart."
Kyoya was extremely red at this point, "Can I let my fire loose yet?"

Drop's cheeks heated at their back-and-forth banter. "Feel free," she replied.
"W-Wait! We're only messing with you, we've been watching you two since you met. We know you want to head off to that mysterious island, and we're the only ones that can get you there." The other explained in a much more serious sounding voice.
Kyoya's flame disappeared, though his cheeks were still flushed with a deep red color, Have I really been falling for her...?

"We had to be sure you were who we thought you were!"
Heart beating loudly in her ears, Moon did her best to not look like she wanted to see Kyoya's reaction. Hopefully, he didn't have a gem for mind-reading..

"But, before we can let you go to the island, you must pass a trial of great difficulty...the rumors of an ancient sea monster are true, we are in control of it." It said as huge squid that strangely resembled Gooper Blooper from Super Mario Sunshine emerged from the water.
"W-Well, Moon? Shall we try and beat it?" Kyoya asked as he was regaining his composure, drawing his swords, and readying himself for combat.

"Uh, right," the witch answered. She sized up the creature, seeing what she could do to inflict the most damage. The arms seemed like weak spots, followed by the back and base of its neck.
Seth snarled at the squid, crouching low as his fur stood on end.

"I'll focus on its arms, you take care of its neck." Kyoya said, jumping towards the creature, slashing at in relentlessly. He seemed completely different from a few moments ago.
Moon, glad she'd taken off her shoes, ran up to the water. Wherever her feet landed, the water froze to create solid support as she raced toward the sea monster. She avoided the tentacles and honed in on the thing's side. The teen circled around it as Kyoya kept it occupied. Seth would have to sit this one out. Her demeanor took on an indifferent persona.
"Moon! There's a scar on the back of its neck, try hitting it to see if it'll do anything!" Kyoya said just as he was flung by one of the tentacles, being thrown back into the water, he was mostly okay, except for a hurt leg.
She was now behind the squid, and spotted the scar he had told her about. Tilting her head to one side, Drop used the spell the teacher had taught Kyoya, the one she had refused to do. The ice solidified in her hand, so she aimed and threw it, chanting for make a gust of frigid wind to carry it farther and fast enough to pierce the monster's skin.
The attack on the scar caused the squid to flee, the pain being too much for the thing to take. Kyoya was struggling to stay on his feet as the monster fled, "You did it, Moon! Fantastic, absolutely fantastic!" He shouted.
The witch made her way back to shore, ice still letting her stay above the surf. She stopped a short ways away from the sand, stood for a second, then turned back around toward Kyoya. She held out a hand for him to take, eyes still blue but not quiet the same as the other times they'd stayed that way.
"Thank you..." Kyoya smiled at her and took her hand, "I'm sincerely glad we're on the same time. You're an amazing warrior!"
