Kyoya followed behind him, wondering what he meant by that comment, "Did you ever meet with some of ancestors?" He asked, trying to see if the legends his mother spoke of were true.

“Yeah,” the Vioz confirmed while leading the way. “Ever since the massacre over 4,000 years ago, shades have stitched together a loose version of our societies, rules, and culture to make it what it is today. All Vioz either speak together in person, speak via magic practices, or write to one another with updates and important information or developments in their sector.”

Moon listened to what he said about shades.

"So...what my mother said was true. She told me that the one started our line had worked with the ancient shades, forging the elemental ring that's been passed down through my family. The Gems were scattered after King Serentia started his bloody massacre." Kyoya said, staring at the shining gems on his ring.

He gave a somber nod. "The king took many artifacts from our people in his crusade that lasted a decade. If Mychiox hadn't seen his intents beforehand, then he would have taken the gems, and misuse their magic. One was said to have been entrusted to a close friend of hers."

"Mychiox means 'Beam of Sun'," Moon clarified for Kyoya.

"He managed to get ahold of the Amethyst of Darkness, we've since recovered it though." Kyoya, said, "It gave him extraordinary power."

“You took it from him even though he had the Amethyst with him? “

“Yup. Just a day or so ago.”

He appeared taken aback. “You two don’t look worse for wear. To heal from there to here isn’t probable, so both you must have not been injured seriously.” In his tone held a note of respect.

"She was the one who finished him off...I was busy fighting off giant spiders. If it wasn't for her, I probably wouldn't be here on the island today." Kyoya said, smiling at Moon.

“You’re the one who knew where to find both temples,” she said, reminding him it was because both of them that they had completed their previous missions at all.

“..I see.” Blake continued on, his respect growing toward the two separately and as a team.

"Are we getting ANY closer to this...?" Kyoya asked, trying to mask signs of fatigue.

“Just over this sand hill,” Blake reassured, not at all winded.

Moon Drop was between the two guys in energy: somewhat tired with some more energy to burn. And, of course, Seth was fine altogether.

"You shades have astounding endurance...I've trained for years, but I don't think I've ever been able to go this long..." He says in between deep breaths.

“We train,” they replied simultaneously, the Vioz shrugging, and Moon smiling at the knight.

"I'm amazed. You shades are fantastic." Kyoya smiled back at his beloved shade, his training seemed pathetic compared to theirs.

Laughing, she held out a water bottle for him.
“But it takes years to learn to pronounce, spell, and translate Ogojohat, learn the rules for the language by heart, and understand that a name won’t fall under any rules at all, making it unique from anyone else’s. Remember, that’s just the first step in our training.”

"Meanwhile, for a typical knight, we just have to learn how to swing a sword or two." He said, laughing in response, accepting the bottle with a smiling, "If we get that part down, it eventually becomes second nature."

“After that’s done, we start learning about all the affinities available, which is upwards of 50 including combinations of multiple masteries. Then we identify what our affinity is, and so on,” Blake added.

“We could go on like this all day,” the witch chuckled, “but we don’t want to have your brain explode from information ovderload.”

"It's really interesting. My father was pretty interested in the shade lore, but he never got a chance to do any research. But, I get to learn from them first hand." Kyoya's eyes sparkled, the information interested him greatly.

“Did you want us to keep explaining?” Drop asked, understanding the urge to learn more. It’d also give her a chance to listen to Blake go into depth over things she didn’t know either.

"Yeah! My father would love to learn more as well...but, he's not here, so I'll just relay it back to him!" Kyoya responded excitedly.
