“Where is everyone?” she asked, taking the chance and glanced around.

Kyoya perked up, "I forgot today's the start of the yearly tournament. I think they're getting things set up for it."

"Tournament?"

Drop tilted her head slightly out of curiosity.

"Yeah, you're new here aren't you?" Kyoya asked before starting to explain, "Every year the school hosts a tournament for the students to see who's improved the most. I entered last year and went away with the runner's up prize, I'm hoping to to take home the winner's trophy this year. Though, if you're looking to enter, I'm afraid sign-ups are over."

The witch shook her head rapidly, eyes wide at the thought. If she had killed a guy for picking on someone she hadn't even known, what would she do when fighting in multiple battles? Moon was very competitive..

"I can't wait...I'll finally have a chance to try out my new sword." Kyoya had a fire burning in his eyes.

"Excuse me, please wait outside until preparations are made." A few instructors hurried them outside.

Smiling at how eager Kyoya looked, Drop chuckled to herself. "Just be careful."

"I will. As long as you're in the stands, I'll do just fine." Kyoya smiled and gave a small hug.

"Okay." She hugged him back.

A voice over a loudspeaker soon boomed, "Good morning, students. If you have signed up, please come to the west entrance, otherwise head into the area and find a seat."

"Well, I'll be seeing you later." Kyoya smiled, "Wish me luck, love."

"Break a leg." Moon did as the loud-speaker instructed.

"I'll make sure to do just that.." He laughed a little bit, heading to receive the brackets. "So...looks like I'm facing that girl from earlier..."

(Skip to the fights?)

(Yep.)

"We have reached the final match of round one. With Kyoya Hiro against Azalea Strait, both accomplished warriors in their own right." The announcer stated.

"You ready to taste defeat, kid?" Kyoya asked as they readied themselves for combat.

"Bring it, knight." Azalea said in response, engaging with one another.

(Was that the girl from before?)

Moon Drop watched on the edge of her seat. She knew Kyoya was a great fighter, but she couldn't help but worry that something might go wrong.

(Yeah.)

The two clashed, sword on spear, sparks flied. It seemed neither could overcome the other. Kyoya's defense allowed him to take minimal damage, but he couldn't keep up with her speed.

The witch’s foot bounced nervously as she watched. She bit her lower lip, and reassured herself he’d find an opening.

Finding an opening, Kyoya swiftly used his earth magic to trip Azalea, then followed up with a wave of water, throwing her out of the ring.

"In a stunning, jaw-dropping finish. Kyoya had come on top!" The announcer stated as Kyoya struck a pose similar to Link from the 'Legend of Zelda' series.

Grinning widely, Drop stood up and clapped for him. She shouted a few congratulations even though they’d be lost in the roar of the other students.
