PREFACE
So I'm pretty much at the end of the line here. Simply put, I've had one too many hopes dashed, with roleplays always looking like they'd turn out marvelous at first but then going silent. Or, perhaps the roleplays have a strong start, but the other party loses interest.
Whatever the case is, for the first time ever I'm contemplating calling it quits.
...
...
...
But that's just not my character.
With that said, I've compiled not only a list of genres I'm interested in, but also numerous scenarios I'd like to use.
Before we dive in, I'd like to tell you that if you consider yourself a casual roleplayer, do not have any sense of commitment, or write only one or two lines, you might want to look for another advertisement. I've frankly never turned someone away, but this time around I've lost my nerve and decided to be very picky. If my attitude seems unappealing, I apologize in advance. I suppose I've become extremely on edge after the last roleplay I was in bombed two weeks ago due to my partner not replying.
Again, I apologize from the bottom of my heart.

Now that all that hard stuff is out of the way, let's get down to business!
GENRES
I'm interested in: Action, Adventure, Friendship, Historical, Fantasy, Romance, Horror, Psychological, Angst
However, it is not limited to this and can be expanded. I am very flexible and can adapt.
STARTERS
WWII - (This one is because I'm a war nut and I'd like to post something solid. Features Action/Friendship/Mature and potential Romantic/Psychological elements)
Days after the invasion of Normandy, [Your Character] stumbles upon a body. Dead? Alive? Hell, [he/she] couldn't even tell it was a body. It simply looked like a rock covered in moss from afar. However, when [Your Character] takes a closer look, it becomes clear that they are indeed alive. Unconscious, but alive, and not of this region as well. Blond hair matted with mud, hands covered in dirt, and foreign equipment. Was that also a gun strapped to his back? Examine his uniform closer, and the unmistakable stars and stripes emblem confirms one thing: He's from the other side.
Ba-thump.
A foreign language can be heard in the background. Most likely a patrol squad sent by them.
Ba-thump.
They are drawing nearer, the sound of footsteps hitting dirt growing in volume.
Ba-thump.
Will [Your Character] run and abandon the man? Will [Your Character] turn him in? Will [Your Character] give him shelter?
Ba-thump.
The choice is yours to make.

((Please privately message me "Beware the Ides of March" if you're interested. Otherwise I won't respond.))

Fantasy - (The dialogue bit was pretty much ripped from Hamilton, one of my favorite musicals. Features Action/Adventure and potential Romantic/Angst)
In a smoky, hazy room where smooth blend of lo-fi and jazz fuses together to create a mellow atmosphere, a man stops by the counter to take a drink. He catches your eye, and cracks a grin with his snaggle-toothed mouth. The two of you exchange a bit of dialogue, with him opening with an unusual question.
"You strike me as a [man/woman] who's never been satisfied."
"I don't know what you mean. "
"You're like me. I'm never satisfied."
"Is that right?"
"...I've never been satisfied. Name's [My Character]."
"[Your Character]. Where's your family from?"
"Unimportant. There's a million things I haven't done but, just you wait..."
He winks at you and makes his way across the room towards the exit, having the audacity to end the conversation on such an abrupt note. His voice is melodic and deep. There's a certain hint of avarice underneath his words, like he's looking for something to quench his desire. Though he makes no attempt to befriend you beyond the small talk, there's a lilt to his voice that compels you to follow him. It's not that he has charisma, if anything, he was abrasive and incredibly standoffish. However, the mysterious component attached to his character might have perked your interest.
---
And there you have it. If you can't tell I've taken a considerable amount of time and thought into writing this. In fact, this is rather unconventional of me to do. Also, there is a small message hidden in the generous walls of text, so if you've skipped over that...Anyways. I've never been so dominant in writing up actions I'd like other characters to take prior to the start of the roleplay, but I figured perhaps if I take a more dominating presence it'll help my ventures.
If I get hit by strong inspiration I'll probably write in more starters and whatnot but for now I hope this is enough.

Hey
From my personal experience, it's quite rare that I ever end up being the one to abandon an RP (and when it happens, it's either because I'm taking a break from the site, because I've got too many instances of the same RP going and certain instances aren't living up to others, or stylistic differences that I'm not completely comfortable with... and on the rare occasion if I'm in charge of a plot and the other player takes it in a direction I'm completely not prepared for). So I'm used to other people dropping out on me... and I can relate.
Unfortunately, all of my characters are between the ages of 9 and 13... I like to use RP to escape the issues and limits of adulthood. And also, they work best in situations that allow for their unusual/fantasy traits. That means I don't do romance, and neither of your current starters would suit them.
If you're still interested in discussing RP with me, then great. A lot of the RPs I've got going atm are stalling and I could do with something new. If not fair enough.

It's an interesting perspective to take on the matter. As I have not fully become "adultified", I can't relate, but I certainly think I have an inkling of what you're trying to tell me. Thanks for the thoughtful opinion.

Well it's something I've taken issue with since even before hitting 18, round about the time where 'kid stuff' is considered inappropriate.
In any case does that mean you're gunna pass on my RP offer? I know my character range doesn't quite fit what you've suggested.

I don't mind roleplaying with you, but you gotta pass the test I put in the advertisement first.
Hey man, long time no see. I'd love to actually rp with you. We haven't done that since the good ol' days.
