It was a beautiful morning in Velen. After the rainy cold night, a sun like that washed away all the terrors of the night. The village near the swamps had just awoken and people were leaving their houses, attending to their duties. Some of them were heading to work on their crops, other feeding and cleaning after their animals or going fishing. The innkeeper was chopping woods outside of the inn, while his wife was preparing the inn for the villagers or newcomers. At first glance everything looked normal. But if someone looked close enough he'd see the eyes of every villager scanning with hidden fear his surroundings.

A man with a bow on his back just walked out of his house, heading to the empty notice board. When he arrived at the board he looked at the paper in his hands.
- Oi! - a woman shouted from her yard, holding in a very intimidating way the long wooden handle of her broom - Easutace, you better find someone soon! We can't live like this!
The man inspected his surroundings with his eyes and then looked at the woman.
- You think she'll return? - he shouted.
- I would return if I was in her place and I'm not a monster! - she answered him.
Another woman went outside of her house, hearing their conversation.
- Yana is right - she said - my children want to play outside, but I'm too frightened to let 'em! I fear for my husband!
The man moved his eyes to the paper and let out a long sigh.
"Where's that witcher that saved me back in the days and invoked the law of.. something on me? Maybe he learned that the child was a girl... witchers need boys..." - he spat on the ground "Just my luck..."
He nailed the notice on the board and returned to his house.
This was a very unusual contract. Contract about a 13 year old girl that, according to the man, was possessed by an evil spirit, demon or a ghost. The man's coordinates were given in the contract, summoning a witcher at his house.

The villager returned to his home, poured himself some Redanian Lager and sat on the bench outside in his yard, drinking patiently, waiting and watching.
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin moved gently on the road. His horse had died a while back when he was on the road, but as of now, it was too late for anything to be done for it, the nekkers had made sure of that, however he made short work of the nekkers not long after. From a quick glance from the towns people of Velen, it was obvious by how his swords were placed on his back that he was a Witcher. His hair was black and cropped short, barely enough to run a comb through to straighten or flatten as needed. The armor he wore was mostly studded leather, light but strong and dyed a deep dark brown. On the sleeves, chain covered his arms where the armor split by a joint and same practice held true around his knees, needing the joint free for movement and striking, needing to use what he was good at to survive, his mobility. Dead in the center of his chest laid the pendant that made many lesser men's heart run cold, a snarling cat with small emeralds set into its eyes, the emblem of the Cat School Witchers. He moved quickly to the notice board, not recognizing Velen from the time he was there prior and quickly grabbing the contract after a quick glance and tearing it off the board and moving quickly to the man's home, he needed to get the Crowns to buy himself a new horse and get on his way. "This contract, you post it?" he asked the man as he walked in front of the man;s who life he had saved years prior and then forgotten about during some night of drinking after a contract

- Master witcher! - the villager immediately stood up, when noticed the witcher, almost spilling his beverage. He placed his wooden cup on the bench and proceed to the witcher.
- I thought you'd never come - waving his hands in excitement he continued - yes, yes, 'twas me who posted the contract, master witcher!

This was a sight that the nearby women from the village didn't want to miss. One of then went to the other and they both left their work, got close to the fence and leaned with their hands on it, watching the witcher with with both interest and fear.

- Your reward, master witcher – the man said – I've been waiting for you for so long. I guess you want to know what was it. Well… that night, when you saved me from the drowners… when I got home my wife gave birth to a girl, master witcher. We didn't know she was pregnant! But my wife died that night. The girl came out very weak, but unlike my wife she survived.

What could notice the witcher was that the man never referred to the child as his daughter.

- I miss my wife so much, master witcher. I don't know the feeling, after all you, witchers, can't feel anything, but losing someone you love hurts so much – the man continued – I still can't bear the loss. She left me with my two boys and the girl. But I must tell you… the girl is possessed. By a demon, evil spirit or a ghost.. I've waited for you to come, because you'd know what to do with her, but I couldn't wait more for you, master witcher. 'Twas okay when she was a baby. But when she was 7 or 8 years old something happened. I don't know what or why. She spoke of very strange things, master. I thought "the lass is mad", but…

- Her entire life you accused her for the death of our mother, father – a young boy joined the conversation – anyone would go mad. I felt bad for her, but when she..

- Go home, Ustes! – the father raised his voice – the witcher doesn't want to know about our family's problems!

The boy listened to his father and left.

- Don't listen to my son, master, listen to me. The girl's shadow… she had a demon's shadow! Not a child's shadow. Big, scary, monster's shadow! She hurt her brother, saying that her God demanded so! She was hurting herself as well! Became aggressive towards common folk and animals. And at night… she couldn't sleep. She was screaming, crying, the whole village could hear her! And her shadow… oh her shadow…

Every skilled witcher would understand what was wrong with the girl. It all pointed to a hym. The father made the innocent girl feel sad and guilty for killing her mother, so the hym found a perfect host in her.

- I tried… I took her to the pellar in the next village and waited in the nearby inn for them to finish. After a day I went to check on them – the girl sat in the corner of the room, and the whole room was covered in blood. In the center the body of the poor pellar was lying. She killed him, master! The monster killed him! Took her home, but the word spread. The villagers were afraid of her, I was afraid to have a monster in my home! Oh my poor Jaina, if she knew what came out of her… After that she started killing folk's animals – hens, cows, pigs. We had her thrown out of the village two days ago, master witcher. But we're afraid she'd come after us for revenge! I left the notice on the board for a witcher to kill her, the whole village gathered money, so we can pay you. We'll gather more if we must, we want to make sure she won't come after us! We have children! Loved ones! Please, will you kill the girl for us, master witcher?
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin looked at the man, his amber eyes glowing faintly as he did. "I have a question for you first," Verin said, rocking his shoulders back a little bit. "How much did you blame her for her mother's death, Hym's feed off such things," he said glaring at him more than most people thought a Witcher could, a pure hate fueled glace that spoke volumes on how likely Verin was to gut him on principle, having too much of a life in something too familiar to let this go easy. He crossed his arms and went to stare at the man. "You created this monster, sowed it like the crops out there, why should I bother helping you," he muttered with spite in his voice, though it was only undertones of it. "Few Crowns Is not going to fix that I think you deserve this," he said, glaring at the man as he waited for his response. Most witcher's wouldn't be as incessantly hostile with the man as Verin just had, but it served him well when he needed it, or wanted to make a point.

The man stood there, stunned by what the witcher said, with fear in his eyes. Obviously he didn't expect this answer. Especially not from a witcher. And making a witcher mad was bad.

The villager looked at the women, like he was searching for their help, and looked back at the witcher.
- Master witcher, I... - he was unsure of his words - I do not know what Hym is. I... told you not to listen to the boy. He's been through so much with that girl, he doesn't know what he speaks. I love my children! Ask people.

- Yea! - one of the women shouted - after Jaina died he started drinking, this you can blame him for, but he has two good boys! The girl... she is cursed! She killed her mother, that's for sure!

The man nodded. It seemed that the whole village believed she actually killed her mother during childbirth and no one wanted to accept the fact that things like that happened all the time. Women were giving birth in their homes, all kinds of complications could occur.

- You have to help us - the man spoke - you're witcher, that's what witchers do. If it's because of the money, we'll gather more!
He waved his finger.
- I didn't create this! Someone must've cursed me! She is not my child, she is a demon's child, master witcher, believe me!

One of the women that seemed bold enough stepped up, putting her hands on her waist.
- You're a witcher, what are these questions!? We pay you, you kill monsters! Since when witchers ask themselves if someone deserves their help or not?! It's not your job to ask, it's your job to kill monsters for money. We have both, witcher – a little monster and a little coin. But we can take this matter into our own hands, if you do not wish to help. Our men, they’ll risk their lives to protect their children and wives. One arrow in the child’s head, that’s what they’ve said. But you’re witcher, you can kill her without having our men killed.

The villager nodded with his head once again. All of the villagers and common folk believed that witchers were emotionless mutants, so his questions surprised them.
Verin (played anonymously)

"The hym and the girl can be Separated from each other. That shadow that she had from your description is the beast itself, it feeds of, like I said, guilt, praying on the emotional and those pained by the crimes they believed to have committed and after a certain point, the hym begins to control he actions, using her more as a puppet than a person to do dark deeds,. I'll help you for her sake, but this belief that she caused your wife's death needs to stop," verin said, glaring at the men and women in the town. "People die, fate is not a kind thing in any way, by blaming her, you created that sense of guilt, trust me, I know from personal experience the damage blame can cause," he said flatly looking at the man "200 crowns, a horse and a bottle of ale, that's what it will cost you," he said, crossing his arms, finger tapping against his armor to instill a sense of fake annoyance and displeasure.

"And to clarify, I can deem who or who I do not help," he said, looking at the woman. "The reason I ask these things is to see whether it can be solved without wasting a life and if it can happen again, because with how she is being treated in this little village, it sounds like another Hym will hook onto her, and feed" he said, him staring at the woman with a thinly veiled and true annoyance. "If something doesnt change in this sodding village it will happen again and again and again,"
Evellienn (played by JustAStory) Topic Starter

The woman and the villager looked at each other, speechless. It seemed that they didn't care about what the witcher said.
- No... - the woman said - we don't want her here. We cannot risk for this to happen again.
She looked at the villager.
- No one wants her here. No one will see her as a child here. Especially not you. Or am I wrong?
The man stared at the ground.
- I... I cannot be her father. I feel nothing, but disgust towards her - his eyes shifted to the witcher -too much happened, master witcher. I want to forget it. If she comes here I won't be able to forget. We don't want you to separate her from that demon. We want you to kill her, no matter what you say she is a monster and I'm not responsible about that. We have 70 crowns, but I have something that I think is worthy. We do not have a horse that we can give you...

The witcher could sense a warm, soft hand, touching his behind his back. A beautiful young woman with golden hair like the morning sun and eyes like emeralds stood behind him. She carried a big wooden cup filled with cold water and smiled at the witcher with her peach red lips.
- Are you thirsty, witcher?
The other woman let out a long sigh.
- Do not fall for the child's appearance. She might look sweet and innocent, but she is the devil himself - she looked at the young woman - the crazy one is here...
And left.
The villager said to the witcher to wait and got back into his house.
- You said you want a horse - the young woman said with her soft voice and pointed at her house - come to me when you're done.
She let go of his hand, handed him the cup and went to her house. That's when the villager returned with some kind of a crystal in his hand. He had no idea what he was holding, but it was a crystal from a megascope.
- Here - he said - I think you can sell it for 100 crowns. 'Twas my wife's. Do we have a deal?
Actually, the witcher could sell it for way more than 100 crowns to the right people. This was a little treasure and no one here knew.
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin looked at the crystal and then nodded. "I'm taking the girl too, she is the surprise child correct," he said flatly. Verin had more than enough of their hatred of this girl to the point he could almost kill a few people in town on principle, but he had more self restraint than that. "You are her father, have to have a little more compassion than just killing her," Verin looked at him. After a moment he looked up and it began to rain and he sighed. "Of course," he grumbled before he looked back at the man who had hired him. "where is she at this moment?" Verin asked as he took his bag off his shoulder. As the woman touched his back, Verin raised a brow and looked at her. "Not particularly," he said, looking at her a little incredulously as he took the cup of water in a hand and blinked and it seemed in a moment she was gone, he sipped down the water and set the cup down where no rain could get to it and began to get ready to go again once he got out a bottle of oil for specters, a tube of silver shavings that he was going to form into a moondust bomb at some point. and he looked through the bag to make sure he had a small list of things like candles, a cat potion, and a few other nicknacks that could help him when he went to Slay the Hym.

The villager shrugged his shoulders when the witcher said he is taking the girl. As long as she wasn't in the village everything would be fine. The man had compassion, but to his children that were normal. And to the villagers. The girl was a threat to him and the entire village.
- She is that child you're speaking of, but be careful... she is too much of a surprise to me. I can't handle bad surprises like that.
The man had no idea where was the girl, but he pointed to a direction.
- We've chased her outside of the road, almost to the woods there, that lead to the swamps. We saw her entering the forest. She has black hair and amber eyes, answers to the name Evellienn.

The villager was stunned and confused by the items the witcher had - nothing familiar. Frankly, he didn't want to know what were these things - the less you know, the better.

Before heading to the forest the witcher could hear the charming girl from before, talking to him outside of her house. She said to him to come back, so he can receive his prize. The horse, most likely and maybe something more.

The beautiful blue sky quickly transformed to a heavy gray clouds, that hid the sun away from the land. Was this a portent?

The lack of sun made the forest darker. A couple of meters inside there was a pack of wolves. What was intriguing about them was that they were all dead. One after another, just like a trail, leading right into the swaps. But there wasn't that much blood and almost no wounds on the wolves. It seemed like they were crushed against the trees or on the ground with an enormous force, died from the hit or died later from internal bleeding. No man could do that, that's for sure. Maybe the hym protected it's host?
At first the forest was thick, but then more and more space between the trees opened, leading right into the Swamps of Velen - place full of drowners, danger and... mud. That's where the last dead wolf was lying. Right after him, on the ground, could be noticed a little child's steps, leading almost to the center of the swamp.

- ACHOOOO! - could be heard, scaring the nearby birds that flew away.
Under one tree there was a group of drowners, walking mindlessly around the tree, like they were waiting for they prey to come down. Some of them were jumping in an unsuccessful attempt to catch the thing on the three, that certainly, wasn't a fruit.
On the tree, on a big branch a little girl, with a black ebony hair and fiery amber eyes could be noticed, curled up and shaking. Her linen clothes were all wet and her nose was runny.
Often she looked down at the drowners and then moved her eyes away in disgust. She gathered as much rain drops as possible in her tiny hands and drank it. After that she wiped off her nose with her sleeve and placed her head on her knees, to try to rest.
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin cared little to spend anymore time speaking to her father, anymore and he may end him, so instead he turned his attention to tracking the girl and finding sign on her. As he walked, he poured the silver powder into a bomb and gently put the fuse down into it with the device used to detonate it. Upon seeing the wolves, he rolled one over with his boot and looked at it. "Hmmm...Hym protecting her maybe, and it's string, too strong, this might hurt," he grumbled as he drew his silver blade and continued to walk. As he walked, he saw an abandoned shack in the woods, it may be a good place to cleanse the hym away from Evellien, gets them both out the rain and would keep the candles lit.

At the sneeze, Verin tensed and then slowly approached the tree, the drowners shouldn't be much more than an annoyance, but it could be a bad day and they could mess him up pretty bad, but as of right now, he looked up at the tree and saw her and his eyes narrowed and he began to move into the clearing, his blade in his hand before he whistled for the drowners and looked at them. "Fresh meat,"
Evellienn (played by JustAStory) Topic Starter

The girl focused her warm eyes at the witcher when she heard him. The drowners immediately turned to him, forgetting everything about their prey on the tree and attacked the black-haired man, as a group, from all sides.
"Is this my witcher?" - she thought. Her father often told to her that a man, called witcher, was supposed to take her. He'd know what to do with her.
But she didn't feel a thing.
She knew she'd have to leave her father and brothers, but she didn't feel a thing.
Because they also had no feelings towards her. Except for anger and fear.
She didn't want to stay there. She learned a few things about witchers from the beautiful blonde woman in the village, that was the only one who treated her nice. But the information wasn't enough.
So she had nothing else to do. She waited for him, because she knew - she was alive only because her father had to give her to the witcher.

She was still alive, because of him.

He never came.

The rain poured heavily from the sky, as the first thunder could be heard in the distance. Eve looked at the direction of the sound with worried eyes. She liked storms, but to be honest, they scared her.
"No..." - she thought - "he is here to kill me"
This was the only logical thing she could think of. She wasn't deaf, nor stupid. She could hear her father talking with the villagers about hiring a witcher to kill her, since no one came for her. She felt hate. She wanted him dead. She wanted them all dead.

Eve looked at the ground under the tree and asked herself how it was even possible for her to climb to the tall tree, but in fear people could do amazing things. The girl wanted to jump and run away, since the drowners now were busy with the stranger, but the distance seemed to much.
She was like a scared cat on a tree, that had no idea how to get down, nor the courage to do it.
Then she looked to see what was happening with the witcher.
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin moved in a flash of trained skill, his body twisting into a piroutte of flashing silver, it biting deep and hard into the first drowner, and, in the Witcher's accursed bad luck, the blade didn't get all the way through the beasts side. Verin's face turned from a scowl into a look of surprise, so he twisted the blade and went to remove it from the creatures side, sending blood splashing into the swampy water. Using the momentum from removing the blade, he pirouetted under ones claw, and slashed at its leg. Its knees were thin and his blade was fast, biting through its leg and quickly removing it at the knee, sending its limb flying the opposite direction from its form. Verin was crouched low, like an animal ready to pounce, him not seeming to stop his movement as the one slammed into the mud and he got a few feet between them. In what seemed like a moment, his hands moved quickly itno the Igni sign and a fire emerged from his hand, shooting burning embers and flame at the drowners in a wave of blood boiling heat, scorching the earth it touched. Verin hated most Necrophages, slaying them was a little too fun an activity to pass up, once the wave of flames hit the drowners still on their feet, he turned and slashed at the one on the grounds head, sending it rolling through the air, leaking a tide of crimson into the murky water as it hit the very tree Evellienn was in with a wet splat. At that Verin looked up. "I'm here to help you, stay put," he barked at her as he took position with his blade once again

Eve watched the witcher as he fought the monsters. He was fast, he did amazing pirouettes, things that she could just imagine. Her whole life she spent in the village where people were boring, a place where nothing exciting ever happens and the greatest threat to the village was a 13 years old girl. And once a scared cow that wounded one of the villagers during a thunderstorm.

So this... this was a pretty unusual sight. His silver blade whistling through the air with an enormous speed, cutting the monsters, spilling their blood on the wet ground, scattering their limbs all around the place. It wasn't how she imagined to be. There was more blood, more horrifying screams, as the monsters greeted death for a first time.
Her eyes opened widely as she saw the fire from the witcher's hand. What was this? She never heard that witchers could do such things. She thought they were mutant humans that felt no emotions and fought monsters with their swords. But magic? Fire? How?

Soon a smell of burned fish spread and the girl followed the rolling head that hit the tree she was standing on. She stood up, starring into the lifeless fish eyes of the monster, with horror in her own eyes. Convulsion. Another one from the lifeless head. It scared the girl even more, she lost balance and fell on her butt, right next to the head that still had convulsions. Child's scream. And then another one. She quickly stood up and started running at the first direction she saw. But she was tired. So tired. And hungry. And thirsty. And cold. Every step she made was a struggle.
She turned to see the witcher. Why? She had no idea. And continued with the running, if it could be called running in her case.
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin turned as one of the drowners, now burning, chomped at him, its skin searing from the flames on its easily dried out flesh, the Witcher Did not let it suffer long, him slashing towards the head that snapped at him, his sword meeting its mouth with a wicked sound of cutting bone. Half of the Drowner's head went in one direction as its body went limp, upon seeing weaker prey, the two drowners bolted by the Witcher and he cursed, sprinting towards Eve in some monstrous race. Verin threw his sword at the one who got ahead of him, the blade hitting it cleanly through its chest and sending it tumbling to the ground dead, Verin's blade being pushed out of its chest from the fall. Verin tackled Eve down and covered her body with his as the Drowner jumped on the lightly armored Witcher and bit down on his back, claws digging into his sides, tearing through the thin leather armor as if it was paper. The Cat school Witcher didn't even whimper as he looked at Eve. "Cover your eyes," he said as his hands dug into the dirt. He did not want the child to see too much of the gore leaking from him, and it was only getting worse and longer every second wasted.

As soon as her eyes shut, he cocked his elbow back and slammed it into the drowners head, a silver stud on his elbow guard hitting into its temple, sending it rolling off him from sheer impact. Verin didn't waste the moment of daze from the Drowner, blood pouring down the wounds on his side and back, he slid one of his fists into a silver knuckle duster and quickly moved his way to the stunned drowner. It came to its senses and tried to stand to pounce on Verin once more. Verin didn't even let it get to its feet, sending a sharp punch into the beasts ankle and shattering it with a wet pop, it getting both its feet swept out from under it in the impact. As it hit the ground, the Witcher quickly moved so he was on top of one of its arms and he sent a hard punch into its pinned elbow and shattered it with a crack as well. Its good arm flopped beneath it and its head tired to bite at Verin as the Witcher spat mud in his mouth out. Then he drew a Silver knife from a sheathe on the back of his belt and began to stab the drowner in the shoulders, its neck, head and chest again, and again, and again until it stopped moving.

She ran, as fast as she could. Then she turned - saw the drowners after her. A blade, piercing the monster through his chest. But the second one was close. The girl turned her head to see the way in front of her, trying to run faster. She could hear the monstrous sounds from the creature. She knew he was behind her. And then... everything happened too fast. She was on the ground, on top of her - the witcher, protecting her with his own body.
She could hear the monster's claws as his they ripped through the flesh of the witcher, tearing his armor.
He looked at her.
She looked at him.
And their amber eyes met.
- Cover your eyes. - he said.
"Don't die..." - she thought, saw his hands dug into the dirt from the pain. She closed her eyes.
Something was happening. A fight. She wanted to see, but she kept her eyes closed. After a while she could only hear the monster's cry.
She had to see. So she opened her eyes and turned.
His back covered in his own blood, as it poured from his wounds. The drowner was still moving, and he was stabbing him. Again and again.
The girl stoop up and walked slowly to the witcher, that was stabbing the monster.
She had no idea why she did that. Her mind was telling her to run, but something else made her do this.
The monster stopped moving. She was close. So close. She placed her little shaking hand on the man's shoulder.
- Mister... - she said - you're hurt, bleeding.
There was no sign from the hym, expect for her shadow.
- Don't die, mister...
The girl was drawn to the stranger without any logical reason. For some reason, beyond her understanding, she cared about him. Somewhere deep inside she cared and she had no idea why.
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin pulled his knife from the drowner's skull and rubbed it off on his pants. He was panting a little bit, mostly from the sprint he had to make. He slid the knife back into his belt and then Felt Evellienn's hand on his shoulder. At her words he snorted and laughed softly and he looked at her, his amber eyes shining a little bit with what could only be described as humour, a small, barely noticeable smirk on his face. "Gods, People would laugh at me forever if I got killed by a drowner," he said sliding the knuckles off and then sliding it back into the pouch on his belt. Then he put his hands gently into the water, ignoring the bleeding on his sides and back as he scrubbed his hands and sighed a little once they were clean. Then he opened his bag, getting out a canteen of water and a wrapped piece of bread for her. ""You need to eat, and drink, and we need to get out of the rain, I saw a shack back there," he said, groaning and standing up. He had a White Raffard Decoction in his bag, but he was not going to drink it right here, he didn't have time for it. HE walked over to the Drowner his sword was in and grabbed the blade and quickly pulled it out of it and then shook it a few times to get blood off his blade and slide it back into his scabbard. Then he looked at her, ignoring the Hym for the moment and he offered his hand to her. "Come on," he said kindly and softly.
Evellienn (played by JustAStory) Topic Starter

- Drowner? - she said, staring into the dead monster on the ground - I call them water people. Didn't know they were called drowners.
The witcher was right. She really needed to eat and drink. Evelienn took the canteen with hesitation and started drinking. A little drop of water fell from the edge of he mouth, as she tried to drink faster, since she was really thirsty. When she was done with the water she ate half of the bread, as she watched how the witcher got his sword, shook it a few times to get the blood off his blade and slide it back into his scabbard. The canteen was half full and she kept the other half of the bread for the witcher, after all she wasn't selfish.
When he offered his hand she looked him with distrust. He killed a group of monsters in a brutal way, he was bleeding, but still he showed no pain and now he was going to take her to some god forgotten shack - it was normal for her to question his intentions.
About a minute passed in which she tried to read his face, holding the canteen in one hand and the bread in the other in front of her, but nothing could be read.
One insecure step. And another. She was right beside him, handing him the water and the bread. She looked like a normal child, but her shadow and the unhealed scars on her hands showed that this wasn't quite true.
- I'm done, you eat the rest. - she said to the witcher with something like a commanding child tone.
She wasn't going to take his hand, not yet, but she was ready to go with him.
- What are we going to do at an abandoned shack? We can get back to the village to miss Veleena, she is a beautiful blonde woman and a healer. She is nice, she can take care of you. You know, once I got a a little splinter in my finger and she removed it without pain! And the other time I fell from a tree and she treated the wound on my knee. I had no scar after that! She is really good. But I don't want to stay in the village. No way.
Verin (played anonymously)

He looked at her for a moment and dropped his hand. "Well, they don't want you to stay in the village before I take care of hunting a monster," he said, kneeling and looking at her. "We might not have long before the storm hits bad, and we don't know how many monsters will smell my blood and come after us on the way back, that shack is close enough that you can rest and I can heal myself," he said, nodding. Then he took the bread from her hand and took a bite of it and wrapped it back up and put it away in his pack and stood. "and besides, the shack is easier to defend and I won't have a whole town breathing down my neck from you being back," he muttered as he scratched his neck and started to walk to the shack. Verin adjusted his bag, making sure his candles and everything was in there still. As they got to the shack, it was obvious it was abandoned years ago, the roof was intact and the windows were boarded up, as if to keep something out of it, from using it as a home. Verin pushed on the door with a hand and found it locked. He grumbled in annoyance and casted the Aard sign, breaking the door off its lock and sending it flying open. Then he walked inside, the home smelled musty, and had a faint smell of dried blood, causing Verin's nose to twitch slightly. HE looked at the trapdoor to the basement and then had a chill go down his spine as he saw the claw marks around it, as if something had fought and clawed as it had gone. in. Verin kneeled down and ran his fingers on the claw marks. "large..., strong," he muttered before he grabbed a bookcase and gently pushed it over to lay on top of the trapdoor before whatever was in there could try to get out Verin set his bag on the book case and got candles out and began to light them and set them down along the edges of the building, lighting up the windows, door and the whole room in general. Then he smiled softly at Eve and groaned, him sitting. "Get on the bed alright, I need to take care of something,"

She followed the witcher with her eyes, as he placed the candles on the edges of the building. Suddenly she felt a cold wave passing through her body and a feel of an uneasiness. He sat as the soft yellow light lit up the whole building. Behind the girl there was an enormous monster shadow that seemed like it was dancing from the movement of the flames. She trembled.
The witcher said to her to get on the bed.
- He... - she spoke to the witcher - he said he doesn't want you here. You'll end up like the pellar.
Her eyes watered. For some unknown reason she didn't want him to die like the pool pellar. The monster tried to stop her from moving, but still she could move. Towards the witcher. Something greater than the power of the hym and all the magic in the world draw her towards the witcher. Destiny?
Her shadow slid to the other wall. And then to the other. He was angry. The girl moved slowly towards the witcher, with her shaking hand pointed at him, as if she was trying to catch his hand.
A chair behind her was lifted up in the air from an invisible force. That's when she started running towards the witcher, as the chair was thrown right at him. But when she got close to him and hugged him, just right before the chair hit, his direction suddenly changed and the chair crashed into one of the walls.
The hym was protecting it's tasty host.
The girl hugged tight the witcher and buried her head in his chest.
- Run... - she whispered - run... or I won't move.
That's when the hym revealed itself. In the center of the room, tall, reaching the ceiling with what seemed to be horns, long hands ending with long claws and his whole body made from darkness...
Verin (played anonymously)

Verin stared at the hym, his hand reaching into his bag to grip the bomb and the oil, him pulling them both out and he drew his silver blade and with one hand, popped the oil bottle open and poured it onto his blade as he glared at the monster. "No," he said flatly as he looked at the Hym. "I was paid to slay the monster," he said, gripping her and pulling her away, the same movement being used to throw the Moondust bomb at the hym. The glass ball filled with silver shavings seemed to crack in the air as it detonated, coating the Hym in sliver shavings, keeping it from running from its fate. Verin was on his feet in moments, running at the Hym with a vicious intent, him needing the mobility, even as his whole body felt as if it was burning, pain, soreness. Though he needed all his energy. He was going to free her from the Hym, he had decided that when he had first heard. As he approached the silver covered beast, he let his knees fall from beneath him so he slid on his kneepads, him doing so as he expected the Hym to try and claw him, Verin striking low, to try and hit something vital to its movement, and once he slid past the beast, he used his forwards momentum to roll back onto his feet
