"S-still....m-maybe we should eat something before we head off...t-to the library" she suggested, as it was lunch hour around this time. "I-I'm...a bit hungry....so..." She held the book close to herself.
Mika's eyes widened as Mr. Huntington explained that he, too, had been a slave. When he was handed a blue key, he stared at it in awe, his eyes wide in wonder, listening to Mr. Huntington's offer. "That....That sounds great, sir!" He told him, stammering in disbelief. Did he really....All this time, all he had to do was ask? "Thank you, sir!" He told Mr. Huntington, his appreciation coming from the bottom of his heart. For the first time in his life, he was actually eager to go home. "Is there food there?" He asked, smiling wider than he'd ever smiled in his life.
As Mr. Huntington saw Mika smiling it made him smile and when he asked if there was food in the house he laughed. "Of course there is food! Do you see how big of a guy I am? I always have food nearby."
Mika's eyes widened at Mr.Huntington's proclamation, and he suddenly ran up to him, hugging the man around the waist. "Thank you, sir! I won't forget this, I promise!" He said, squeezing him tight. He felt, for the first time in his life, like he could truly by a little kid again. He never wanted this moment to end, but he knew he had to go to his next class. That, and Olivia was waiting for him outside.
Mr. Huntington was shocked when Mika wrapped his arms around him in a hug and he smiled and patted his back softly and laughed. "No need to thank me, I understand what you're going through and want to help." He looked over at Olivia in the hallway. "Also I know Olivia will actually slice your tail off with her sword if she has to wait on you any longer."
Mika nodded as Mr. Huntington claimed Olivia was getting impatient. "Right." He said, although he had to admit he was a bit disappointed. He stepped back, beginning to leave, before he added, one last time, "Thank you, Mr. Huntington Sir." He smiled broadly and stepped into the hallway to meet Olivia, practically dancing on the tip of his toes. He still couldn't believe it. He had a house! An actual house, all to his own, with no one to order him around! A warm bed to sleep in, and food to eat! Surely nothing could dampen his mood now!
Piqued as her curiosity was as to what Mr Huntington was talking to her friend about Olivia decided not to eavesdrop. She decided she'd done enough snooping for one day, besides he would probably tell her if the teacher had said anything interesting. Liv sat on the floor outside, leaning against the corridor wall and did her traditional bored activity of sharpening her sword. The moment her friend came out, however, she leapt to her feet; sliding the sword back into it's scabbard. She didn't fail to notice the boy's happy expression and her own face split into a smile. "It was good?" She asked, although she didn't really need to ask that. Mika was practically dancing, he seemed lighter than he had before as if someone had used a cheering charm on him. "What did he say?" she asked eagerly.
"He gave me a house!" Mika said, showing her the key briefly before holding it close to him, as if he was afraid to let go. He was so happy he hardly realized that his statement would sound odd without him explaining why.
"It's lunch!?" Elara exclaimed, looking quite cheerful, "Oh, well I'm sure not even this school can ruin lunch." She smiled mischievously, "Unless they start feeding us dragon meat and weird magical plants."
She nodded at his comment about french fries. "I just fancy something cheesy." She told him, "Ordinary, non-magical cheese."

As Mr. Wolverine asked Mika for a talk, Jin sighed, getting back on his phone.
"Hey, Iris." He said, quietly.
"Yes, Master?" She replied.
"I thought I told you to call me Jin." He said, with an annoyed tone.
"Ah. Yes, Master Jin?" The lady in the device echoed.
Jin sighed, thinking this computer wouldn't understand what he meant. Jin was her creator, after all. The only appropriate thing to do was express gratitude to the boy. Jin didn't like that, though. The thought of having to owe someone your greatfulness only because they did something for you. Even if it was creating life.
"Whatever." He said, with his once again annoyed tone.
"What can I help you with?" The android asked.
"Yeah, um. I need to know something about your programming."
"Gasp. Master Jin finally cares about me?" The little voice asked, shock and sarcasm filling its voice.
Jin heaved out a large groan. This device was not making things easier for him; but then again, he made her that way. The serious, yet gentle touch of her voice. The sarcastic, yet witty side of her. Even how she knows everything about Jin, and how she's understandable. Someone to talk to. Honestly, if this computer was real, Jin would marry her.
"Iris. I'm serious." He replied.
"Ah, yes. How may I help you, Master?"
"When did I make you, Iris?"
"September 6th, 2005, Master. You were four years old."
"Ah, yes. I recall that." He said, trailing off in his thoughts to a four-year-old Jin sitting in his room, successfully creating life to a servant-like device. Jin was happy when he created Iris. He thought of her as a sister, or a cool cousin. Or even a parental figure.
"Hi!" The young boy had said, his glee and eagerness filling the room.
"Hello there, young one. Have you created me?" The woman in the device had asked.
"Hehe! Yup!" He said, grinning from ear to ear.
"Ah, I see. A child prodigy. How refreshing to see. You don't get a lot of those in this generation anymore." She had answered.
Jin just smiled. He didn't know what he had made, but he was happy to have someone. Someone to stick with him forever.
A friend.
As Jin's flashback finished, the bell for lunch had rang. He kept his phone in his hand, continuing the conversation with the girl in the screen.
"Iris, what time did I make you?"
"3:04 AM. Why do you ask?"
Jin remembered. He was up all night. Begging, waiting. He wanted a friend, and this was the only way he knew how to do it. To make one. He ignored her question, and followed with another.
"What characteristics did I give you?"
"Smart, understandable, sincere, a hint of sarcasm.. Master, why do you want to know this?"
"Iris. Finish the list, please."
"Yes, Master. Witty, courageous, brave, gentle, and down-to-earth. Please answer the question, Master."
Jin closed his phone, ignoring the girl in the screen calling out to him. He closed his eyes and sat down on the floor, some people stumbling behind him due to his sudden outburst. He gripped his hands over his head and formed his position into a ball, cradling his knees. He could not believe it; more so, he didn't want to believe it.

As Gabe and Lara made there way to lunch an aroma of freshly made food hit there noses and Gabe smiled. "Oh my goodness food!" He examined as he garbed Lara by the arm and lead her towards the wonderful smell.
As they approached to double doors to the lunch room, they suddenly opened by themselves revealing a massive cafeteria with massive glass windows and lines of food in which the lunch ladies were conjuring up food from practically nowhere. They looked for a place to sit, it was odd because there were no tables in sight. Gabe noticed a kid grab his tray full of food and was suspended in the air at the end of the lunch line. Thats when Gabe looked up and gasped and tapped Lara on the shoulder and pointed up to the tall ceilings. "Oh...my freaking gosh, this can't be real." Right above them were floating tables filled with students enjoying there lunch in mid air as if it were normal to them, when a student was done eating they stood up and floated to the edge of the room and some invisible force gracefully pulled them down to the floor. "It must be some type of enchantment spell in this room!"

"What!?" Olivia cried in shock, that wasn't exactly something you'd hear everyday. "He gave you a house? How come? Does he just have a spare house lying around or something?!"
Of course, this was amazing. She'd been worrying about what she was supposed to do with Mika for the entire lesson. She could hardly have left him living on the streets but now he had a home.
"That is so cool!" She added "I told you this school was awesome!"

Jin stood up, recovering himself. He did not want to start yet another scene on the first day of school. He just didn't realize what the meaning of his phone after what he had discovered.
"Master.. Are you there?" The lady behind the screen asked.
Jin sighed, rubbing his head.
"Yeah, I'm here, Iris. Don't worry, I'm not dead.. I wish I was, though.." He said, mumbling.
"Oh, Master. Don't say those kinds of things. I am happy to see you are okay."
"Yeah, that makes one of us.." He said, trailing off.
"Master, would you like me to calculate your next class?" The lady asked.
"Nah.. I got it, thanks Iris."
"Yes, Master Jin. Well, I'll be signing off now, have a good day." She said. And with that, the robot signed off, closing the screen.
"Same to you Iris.." Jin said, and gently put his phone in his pocket, finding his way to the lunchroom. He couldn't find an available seat, so he found himself sitting next to the trashcans. Great.
He sighed, setting his things down. He wasn't hungry, so he decided to go on his phone, ignoring Iris. He tried not to notice the trash being poured on him as people "accidentally" threw it away. He hung his head down in shame and tried to cover his face with his hair. This was normal for Jin. He had gone through this at several of his old schools- bullying. At least at this school it wasn't directly bullying him. Oh well. It's all the same for him.

Mika didn't respond, instead sniffing the air intensely. After a moment, he murmured, "I smell food..." Despite the source being on the other side of the building, Mika's nose could smell food from a mile away. Imagine the torture when you weren't allowed to have it. He turned to Olivia, his eyes bright with excitement. "Do they give you food here, too?"
Elara allowed Gabe to drag her towards the food. When they stepped through the large, double doors she froze and her mouth gaped open. The food was appearing out of nowhere and the tables and chairs were floating in midair. As Gabe commented on a type of spell that would do this Elara's just shrugged. "I don't know what it is, but it's wonderful." She replied, "We should hardly be shocked, we've seen enough weird stuff today for this o be surprising."
She joined the back of the lunch queue and asked the lunch lady for macaroni cheese. It appeared on her plate as if had always been there the moment she'd said the words. Then, ,after gaining a drink and dessert too, she glanced at Gabe nervously and picked up the tray of food. Without warning she found herself rising, slowly and gently, stopping when level to the tables. She slid into the nearest seat she could find, trying to avoid floating above emptiness for a long time.

Olivia shook her head in wonder, this boy got excited about the slightest of things. "Of course they do!" She told him, his excitement was catching and she continued to smile. "You can have whatever you want for lunch here. I'll show you to the cafeteria, the food's pretty delicious." She attempted to smell whatever it was he smelt herself but she had no luck, "Your sense of smell must be amazing though." She continued, "The cafeteria is halfway across the school." She began to lead the way towards the cafeteria. "Honestly, I've missed the food here. My family aren't brilliant cooks."
Mika nodded, a bit shyly, hardly noticing that his ears had disappeared from sight, similarly to how his clothes had changed previously. "My masters always told me that I was delusional for some of the things I smelled...But I always ended up being right when I followed my nose. I think humans have a harder time smelling things than I do.." He seemed almost ashamed of it, as if it was a bad thing that he excelled over humans at something. He soon recovered, though, too excited about the food to stay upset for long. "I can't wait for food, though! I can hardly remember the last time I ate a decent meal!"
As Jin watched all the other kids float into the air, finding a seat, he stayed solid on the ground. It's not that he didn't want to be up there, it was just.. Never mind. He continued surfing through his phone, until he was brought up to a rather interesting text.
#: Jin Haekeo? Is this you?
Jin didn't know how to respond to that. How did this stranger know Jin's last name, let alone his phone number? He came to the conclusion that it was just a fellow hacker, pulling a trick on him. But who could be this skilled as to find his last name and number?
Jin: hah, hah. what a good trick; making me believe it was someone important.
There was something off, though. Jin couldn't put his finger on it, but he felt like he shouldn't have texted that person back.
#: Jin? Oh, Jin! It is you!! I'm so glad I finally found you!! Oh, your father and I were looking for you everywhere!!
Jin froze.
Jin: w-what? father? you?
Jin's head went off like a lightbulb.
Jin: mom..?
Jin's Mom?: Yes! It's me, honey. Oh, don't worry, your father and I are going to find you and bring you home.
Jin did not like this. He HATED this. He was not coming home. Not after what those two freaks did to him.
Jin: No.
Jin's Mom?: What? No, you have to come with us, Jin!
Jin: Like I said before, no. I am not coming home with you, and I am not trusting you, AT ALL. I hate you. You are not going to take me back, and that is final. I am old enough to make my own decisions, and I sure as hell am old enough to decline this offer. I'd rather die than live with you again.
×× Jin has signed off ××
Jin grabbed his things and exited the cafeteria, ignoring all the teachers telling him to come back. He was certainly not in the mood.
Surely, was he ever?
