Although it's probably obvious, I'm completely new to this site, and I'm hoping this will end my search for a well-populated roleplaying community. I'm a moderate-level roleplayer with plenty of prior experience, including some DnD during my childhood, several years of online roleplaying in small groups, and a bit of less-than-serious but undeniably hilarious LARPing with close friends. I also enjoy writing and drawing in my spare time, both of which have assisted me in creating and developing my characters.
I'm still on the tutorials, but I do have a character up already (the bones of a profile are complete, at least) and I'd very much appreciate if someone dropped in to say hi, roleplay, or even just give me some direction on what's really expected of a good profile around here. Thanks in advance!

Haha well when it comes to making profiles, I've seen 'em done everyway so far (& I'm fairly new myself still). Honestly it boils down to what YOU want. I absolutely ADORE the profile system here. It's leave so much room for detail.
Like Yersinia asked, it's easier to know who will interact with you better if you let us know the style your into.
