It was dark. Oh, so very dark. The moment Anna woke up with a pounding sensation in her head, she began to panic. Her breathing accelerated, and her heart raced. She tried to move her hands, only to find that they were bound behind her back with rope. It scratched at her skin, creating raw red marks around her wrists. Her legs, she soon found, were also bound at the ankles with a similar material. Her next option was to scream, but she quickly discovered her mouth was covered with duct tape. She thrashed as much as she could with her arms and legs bound, beginning to let out muffled sobs of terror. It was many minutes before she forced herself to calm down, knowing that panicking would do her no good. She took a deep breath through her nose, forcing her breathing to steady and her heart rate to level out. She could hear the faint sound of wheels against pavement; she was in some sort of car, likely in the trunk, based on the darkness and the apparent size of the space she was confined in. She fought hard to remember what she had been doing before she woke up, yet her mind came up blank. It hurt too much to think; her head was pounding as if someone had hit it. Chances were that someone had. She vaguely recalled going to get coffee for her parents, who were visiting her house, and arriving at Starbucks. She got out of the car, and then.... It was no use. Everything after that was a blur; it was too fuzzy to make sense of. Where was she now? Where was she going? What were they going to do to her? She tried not to let her mind return to such questions, but it was no use. The possible answers made her eyes sting with tears.
It's been awhile since William had a case. He was sitting at his desk doing paperwork. He had stacks of it. He was still working when someone burst into his office saying there's a missing persons report. William grabs his coat and heads to the house that called
Claire had her foot tightly held to the accelerator, the car moving at the same speed as her heart. Sweat was beading on her forehead and trickled slowly towards the ground. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO?" She screamed at herself. There was no reply forthcoming from her head. All she thought about was the threat that had come earlier that day. She was to kidnap someone and bring them to her debtors or they would come and take her. So she had grabbed the nearest person she saw, which happened to be a young woman of almost her age. Now that same person was bound and gagged inside the trunk of the car. She just desperately hoped that the journey wouldn't hurt the girl too much.

---At Anna's House---
A middle-aged man with short brown hair sat silently on the sofa with his sobbing red-headed wife, massaging her back gently as they awaited the police's arrival. Anna had been missing for some time now, twenty-four hours at least. She had went to go get coffee, but she never returned. Starbucks was no more than five minutes away from the house. At first, they were sure it was fine, and yet with every passing hour they grew more and more concerned. Now they had taken the initiative to call the police, too concerned to leave her house in case of her return. Surely she would be back soon, they had told themselves. Now they weren't so sure. And so, they sat alone with the phone lying on the coffee table, awaiting the officer's arrival.
---In the Trunk---
Anna had begun to whimper softly, her fear overcoming her logic once more. She doubted her captor could hear her, but even so, she had to let the noise out. She was terrified, and couldn't wait to escape the darkness of the trunk. Her eyes were beginning to adjust, but she still couldn't see more than a couple of empty grocery bags stuffed in the corner and a box full of who-knew what. She had grown tired of thrashing around, her muscles beginning to ache from the effort, so she laid still, unsure how much time had passed since they left.
(I just realized I have made a huge error in the timing on her profile. She's supposed to have been missing for twenty-four hours, otherwise her parents wouldn't have been hugely concerned because she is, after all, an adult. However, Claire just kidnapped her just now. So, I'm not 100% sure what to do with that. Could we just ignore that blunder, and pretend it's all normal? )

William knocks on the door with his badge and notepad ready to ask questions to the parents he knew they were worried so he would take it easy on them. When they open the door he would show his badge "I'm detective chase " he would say

(Oh damn, I'm so sorry)
Claire approached her house and desperately slammed the on brakes, sending the speeding car to a jolting halt. It was neither an elegant or efficient way of parking, yet it was the quickest one she could do and that was all that mattered to her at the moment. Rushing as fast as she could she ran around to the back of the car to the trunk. Gingerly she opened it up to look down at the face of her captive inside, praying that the eyes which looked back were not too accusatory. She already felt like her actions were destroying some part of her soul and had no idea how to cope with any sort of look of fear to dampen her resolve
