Korra kissed back the second time and put her uninjured arm around his neck. "I know.. Kyro is a good dragon," she whispered and smiled a little.
She kept Daryn close to her, needing him close to her. Korra pulled him down again, kissing him longer and deeper.
Kyro snorted and settled down next to the two. Lowering his wing a bit so they could have privacy and he didnt have to watch. Kyro watched and listened for any signs of a threat but found none. So he relaxed and closed his eyes till they were just slits.

He was more than happy to oblige by staying next to her, but a hiss of pain escaped him as he jarred his leg in trying to figure out whether to kneel or lie down next to her.
"Easy," he murmured, finally settling on resting on his uninjured side so he could stay in contact with her. He brushed his hand through her hair, tucking a stray strand behind her ear. "I'm glad you're feeling better."

Korra looked at Daryn worriedly when he hissed in pain. "Are you ok?" she asked quietly and looked at his leg.
Korra closed her eyes as he tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Then she looked up at him with a smile.
"Thank you for helping me Daryn," she said quietly.
She took her arm from around his neck and put her hands on his cheek, running her thumb lightly along his cheek.
"You need to rest too you know. That leg of yours wont get better with you walking around alot," Korra pointed out quietly and smiled.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just trying to get comfortable," he grinned at her.
And then gently clapped his hand over hers when she touched his cheek. "We should rest for today; I picked up some supplies in town, but Kyro ate the meat; I've got some fruit and cheese and bread."
He nodded and hauled his pack over to her. "Alright, I'll take it easy." He leaned over to kiss her again. "If you're hungry, help yourself."

Korra smiled and kissed back. "Good. When i get my strength back i want you to stay put and rest. My shoulder is hurt and i really dont use it as often as you have to use your leg," she said softly. When he settled down, Korra moved over to him and put her head on his shoulder.
"Daryn? Why is it so important to you find your dad and clear his name?" she asked him quietly. The sun was setting quickly and Kyro set his wing tip down on the ground, keeping the middle of his wing off of Korra and Daryn. But it was still close to them, keeping them warm.

He made himself comfortable and then wrapped an arm around her, as she rested against him.
He sighed and watched the sun setting, before sighing at her question. "Well, if I can find my father and prove he isn't a traitor, he can come home and my family, my mom and brothers and sister will be able to support themselves again."
He licked his lips briefly. "Right now, I'm sending parts of my paycheck home so they can afford food. I don't mind; but it would be nice to keep the entirety of my paycheck. That pocket watch of mine is the first thing I bought with my first paycheck as an enlisted guy. It has...sentimental value."

Korra closed her eyes and listened to Daryn's heartbeat. Then when he said he was sending home parts of her paycheck, she sat up quickly and looked at him. "Daryn! Why didnt you let me pull into that dock?! Your providing for your family and i made you loose your job!" she exclaimed quietly.
Now she felt bad about making him loose his job. He had a family to provide for and she hadnt even thought about that. Kyro moved his wing higher up as Korra brushed her head against it. Well she could steal some stuff and trade it in for money...she was a pirate after all. Which reminded her of his question about her stopping.
"I cant stop being a pirate. I've stolen one of the most important ships in the sky. Everyone knows im a pirate now and the only way i can get by," she answered his earlier question.

He looked at her in surprise. "Because you would have been in a worse situation if you had been caught. And you didn't make me lose my job. I gave it up when I decided to help you get Kyro back."
He placed his hand on her uninjured shoulder. "Hey, don't feel sorry for me; I can find another job. And if you put your pirating ways behind you, you could do the same." He sought to look her in the eyes. "I wouldn't mind helping you out some if you decide to turn away from pirating."
He did grimace at the mention of stealing the airship. "We'll have to find a way to mask our identities for a bit, I suppose."

Korra layed back into the grass and stared at Kyro's wing. "Being a pirate is the only thing i know how to do," she whispered.
Then she crawled over to Daryn and leaned over him, leaning down she kissed him softly. "I can help you make money," she whispered and looked in his eyes.
Of course it was the way of a pirate but at least she knew some way. Besides they had to get food and she already had in mind a way to get the money for high quality stuff.

He sighed and his face softened some. She had been kidnapped by pirates at seventeen, how could she have possibly gotten a job?
Still, at her words, he felt some sort of struggle taking place in him. He wanted to help her, needed to. But stealing money was one thing he couldn't abide by. If nothing else than because he knew how important money was in taking care of people.
He kissed her gently and then laid back on the grass, propping his head up on his arm. "I really don't feel comfortable with you stealing; if you're caught you'll go to jail. And that won't help either of us out. Not to mention, Kyro will probably go crazy or feral--and that won't help me." Not that he had anything better in mind. He'd have to find a job, or sell what he'd managed to save from the airship.

Korra looked at Daryn with a sigh. "Alright fine..but what else do you want me to do?" she asked while laying back in the grass. She didnt know how to do anything else to be honest and the only thing she was perfect at was stealing.
Without a thought to what could happen if they stayed in the clearing, she closed her eyes and listened to the outside sounds. A crunch made her sit up quickly and crawl over to the back side of Kyro's wing. A man was creeping toward the dragon, a sword drawn in his hand. Korra lightly tapped Kyro's wing in warning and Kyro snorted in understanding. Swinging his tail around, the part just before the spike whacked the man in the head and he fell with a thud. Korra looked back at Daryn. "Stay here. Dragon hunter be right back," she said quietly to him then gave him a quick kiss.
Then Korra took her chance and shot out from underneath Kyro. Pinning the man to the ground, he growled and narrowed his eyes up at her. Then when he saw it was a girl, he quickly grabbed her uninjured shoulder and rolled over to pin her instead. Korra wasnt in the shape to be fighting yet she didnt ask for help. Pickpocketing him in a few seconds and without him noticing, she took her gun from her holster then put it to his head.
The man froze his movements where he had put his hand to her lower stomach and the other to move up and down her side. She had a cold look in her eyes as she cocked it.
"Off. Of. Me. Now." she ordered and he slowly moved away from her. "Leave," she ordered and he picked up his sword. Backing away slowly, the man quickly took off into the wooded area after Kyro snorted and looked back at him. Then Korra holstered her gun and exhaustedly layed back in the grass away from them. Staring at the sky, she caught her breath before crawling back under Kyro's wing and collapsing next to Daryn.

Daryn didn't move, knowing that when it came to sneaking up on someone, more wasn't better. For that matter, his leg wouldn't let him move too fast either. He did crawl enough to peer around the dragon and check on Korra, finding her in a nearly compromising position before she pulled a gun on the guy.
His breath caught; was she going to shoot him? But when the man stumbled away, he breathed a sigh of relief. "You alright?" he asked Korra, giving her a quick up-and-down look when she collapsed next to him.
He gently rubbed her arm. "Thank you; you did good."

Korra sighed and closed her eyes. "Tired but im fine. Some men can be so rude. I cant believe he actually tried to touch me that jerk," she muttered the last part.
She shuddered as she remembered his feel but not because she liked it either. It was quite revolting and she had been seconds from shooting him before he did what she asked.
Korra smiled when Daryn said she did good. "Thank you, that means alot coming from you," she replied quietly. Then she managed to crawl a little closer and kissed his cheek.

He smiled. "Hm? Does it?" he asked, meaning the part where it meant a lot coming from him. "I'm just as human as you are; I probably would have shot him." He scowled briefly, remembering the way the man had attempted to take advantage of his girl. And then he was amused by his thought that Korra was 'his girl'.
But then he was distracted by Korra's kiss. "I'm really happy you didn't ditch me in the airship," he said.

Korra closed her eyes briefly adn saw him scowl. "What are you scowling for?" she asked quietly. She layed completely down and put her head on her arms. Kyro snorted and put his head down, closing his eyes. The sun had went down now and she was looking at Daryn.
"Im happy i didnt drop you on the next terra we came across," Korra replied with a smile. Then she looked at him with meaning and lightly brushed her thumb along his cheek. He had a little dirt there and she wiped it away.

"Nothing," Daryn said, quickly masking his scowl. He leaned into her touch when she brushed her thumb over his cheek.
Without breaking eye-contact, he gently placed his hand over hers and moved it so that he could kiss her palm. A small smile toyed at the corners of his lip. "What I should say," he was speaking so that his lips brushed her palm still, "is that I love you, Korra. I don't want anything bad to happen to you ever again."

Korra blushed and shivered as his lips brushed her palm while he was speaking. Then she looked at him surprised then she grinned and moved as quickly as possible to get closer to him. She kissed him hard and deep still smiling.
"I love you too," she whispered.
Korra felt like she would burst with happiness as he told her he loved her. She had known since they arrived on this terra that she did and she had wanted to tell him but she didnt want to have pushed it too far so she hadnt.
Yes, Korra would help Daryn find his father and clear his name. She didnt care if she had to give up being a pirate and she wouldnt care what other people thought of her. Daryn's opinion was the only one that mattered.

If he could manage it, he wrapped his arms around Korra, holding her close and leaning into the kiss. She was too good for him; for all that she was a pirate. And he a sailor.
For now, he was content to simply be with her. Oh how his airship buddies would laugh at him for his self-control--but they weren't here. And given what he was up to, he was glad. For they'd probably take him prisoner as a deserter. And he couldn't refute their arguments. He had deserted--or rather, abandoned--the ship. And instead of returning to his crew, he had opted to throw in his lot with a pirate--no, a young woman who had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time. But the life they'd chosen wouldn't be easy--especially with both of them running from the law.
"You're not going to desert me, Korra, are you?" he asked softly, suddenly vulnerable.

Korra looked at him with all seriousness and lightly brushed her thumb along his cheek. "Never." she says with finality and kisses his forehead softly.
It was true that Korra would never desert him, she loved him and she wouldnt ever leave him. The world could call him what it would like, but to her Daryn was an honorable, strung, trustworthy man. His father probably was too and if the world didnt see that then it wasnt a world she wanted to be a part of.
Kyro shifted slightly in his sleep and his wing lowered a bit. Korra smiled and looked up at his wing before looking back at Daryn. "Lets get some sleep. Then we can start the search for your father tommorow," she says quietly and with a smile. Then she settles down next to Daryn, snuggling into him with his arms around her. She felt absolutely safe in his hold.

He relaxed and smiled a little. "I'm glad." Feeling Kyro shift he winced. He'd forgotten about the dragon--crazy given how big it was; but his problems had been bigger than a dragon until now. Like not being caught for desertion, or finding his father. He was surprised Korra remembered, let alone wanted to help.
"Thank you," he said softly, "And yes, sleep would be good," he agreed, yawning and then snuggling down with Korra in his arms. Oh what a life he had. From crashing his airship to rescuing a dragon--they should write books about him. He just wondered how it would all end--hopefully not with him behind bars. And, unfortunately, his dreams were going to be nightmares that night.
