Korra flinched at his tone and looked away from him. "Im fine.." she said quietly. Then instead of waiting for him to cut the bonds, she cut them herself on the blade as he held it then untied her ankles and stood up.
Brushing off her clothes, she wiped her mouth then went over to the door checking the man's gun. It was loaded so she took it and unloaded it then reloaded it. Right now she was just occupying herself so she wouldnt think about the tone of Daryn's voice when he asked her if she was okay. Something was on his mind yet he chose not to say it.

He scowled and let her get up. It hadn't been lost on him that she wiped her mouth. He followed her over to the door, trying to figure out what to say that wouldn't make him look like a complete jerk in her eyes.
"I don't know what game you think you're playing, but if you ever pull a stunt like that again...." He didn't bother finishing his sentence. Instead he shook his head and took a deep breath. "Let's go. Kyro's waiting."

Korra frowned but didnt budge to leave. "Whats wrong with you all of a sudden?" she asked. She wasnt going anywhere until they got this figured out. Daryn had wanted to say something but didnt and now he was acting this way.
Kyro licked his jaws clean and settled down to wait. He could feel the disturbed and hurt feelings from Korra and snorted. Humans.. he thought.

Daryn almost growled. "What's wrong with me? I don't need you to try to protect me! I've been trained how to handle gunfights and how to neutralize a threat." But more than that, it was the words she had spoken earlier that had needled him. He went quiet for a moment, before he asked: "Do you really think I'm just 'some sailor'?"
Korra stepped away from him as she heard him almost growl his words. Flinching at his tone then wiping her eyes as the familar tingle started. "I didnt want to loose you! Is that too freaking much to ask?!" she snapped back then she shook her head rapidly as he asked that. "No Daryn i dont think your just some sailor. I love you but i was doing what i thought was the best thing to protect you," she said her voice cracking at the end.
Then she brushed past him and quickly rushed off down the hall. Turning the corner and going into a random room, she slammed the door shut and leaned against it. Sliding down to the floor and bringing her knees to her chest, she buried her head in her arms and silently sat there.
I forgot to give him his pocketwatch.... she thought absentmidedly then rubbed her eyes again.

"You're only going to get yourself into more trouble if you keep trying to protect me like that!" And then she was running past him and down the hallway.
He flinched at the sound of the door slamming and he copied her sentiment by slamming his fist into the wall. Never mind that the airship was still in orbit, or that the bounty hunter was still somewhere on board. Relationship issues were obviously more important.
"I can't protect you if you keep leaving me behind," he said softly. His hand throbbed from the impact and he trudged his way back to the control room. Since they had the ship, he might as well retrace their steps. Korra probably wanted whatever that thing was that she had lost back. He didn't even know why he was looking for it, but he couldn't bring himself to just brush her off completely.
"Why do women have to be so complicated?" He complained.

Korra sat in that room for a long time before she finally got up. Shaking out her legs to get the blood flowing again, she locked the door then switched on the lights. It was a pretty good size room with a full size bed at the far end against the wall and a bathroom with a nice bronze plated tub.
Korra let out a heavy sigh then crawled onto the full size bed and rubbed her jaw where bruises had started to form from that mans hold. Three on the right side of her jaw and one on the left. Laying back, her body was protesting at every move made from all that slamming against stuff and that bounty hunters rough handleing.
Kyro soon fell asleep in the loading bay and had no worries on where they were going. At least they wouldnt have to worry about the bounty hunter. Kyro hadnt been fed when they landed so he had made a nice snack.

Daryn adjusted their course, remaining in the control room; he figured Korra could find him if she needed to. He still simmered a little, however, on how the bounty hunter had treated her. It just wasn't right.
With a sigh he leaned his head against the wheel. He was exhausted and his legs were sore. Plus his hands hurt. "I need a vacation," he muttered. "Where I can sleep for three weeks and let my body heal up. And hopefully stay out of trouble." He contemplated where the nearest such location might be that would permit all of those--but came up empty.
His eyes drooped and he shook his head to stay awake. "We're not that far from where we flew..." he muttered, bringing the airship into a lower altitude

Korra got up and started to walk towards the bathroom but changed her mind. Leaving the room, she went to find the control room and saw Daryn half asleep.
"Go get some rest. Just because your the only one up doesnt mean you should be flying. You look about ready to pass out," she said but not in her usual caring tone. This time it was more of a reserved tone.
Korra felt bad for talking to him like that but she still couldnt get over how he acted. Though it was her fault to begin with so she should apologize and she started to but no words came. Then she shook her head to clear it and leaned against the doorway.
"Im sorry Daryn. I didnt want to loose you. I did what i thought was the best choice," she said quietly and in a defeated tone but a sincere one.

Daryn flinched and straightened when he heard Korra speak behind him. He had half a mind to object but he was exhausted and the fight in him was gone.
"Fine." He mumbled, before rubbing at his jaw. He hadn't expected the apology either, and he seemed to wilt. He met her eyes briefly. "I know." He sighed. "It's just hard for me to protect you when you keep running off. Next time, promise me you won't just abandon me like that; and I'll promise not to die in the process." He attempted to smile.

Korra visibly relaxed and smiled. "Sounds like a plan," she agreed and stood back up straight. Walking over, she went to the steering wheel and leaned on it then laughed softly.
"Remember when we first met?" she asked and looked back at him. She was smiling and her eyes sparkled with amusement.
Korra was finding their first metting funny now. Then she remembered Daryn's pocket watch and stood up straight again. Remembering the run in with the bounty hunter and Daryn she had seen the box hit the bounty hunter.
"Daryn! Wheres the box you hit the bounty hunter with?" she asked suddenly very concerned and worried he had left it back there.

Daryn snorted. "Remember? How could I forget it." A wry grin pulled at the corner of his mouth.
And then Korra was freaking out over the box. "Oh, uh, the box is probably where it landed. Why?" He'd play dumb for a moment and act like he didn't have his pocket watch safely tucked away on his person.

Korra felt drained after he said that and put her head down on the steering wheel, none too gently either. With a groan, she stood back up and rushed towards the loading bay, drgging Daryn with her. "I cant believe you used that box! It had you pocketwatch in it and..and i was going to give it to you tonight as a surprise.." she explained while they were walking.
Daryn couldn't help it, he burst out laughing. He drew to a sudden halt, gripping Korra's wrist so she would stop as well.
"You mean this watch?" He pulled out the pocket watch from his vest, dangling it before her in all it's silver-studded glory.
He pulled her to him and engulfed her in a hug. "Thanks, I love it."

Korra blushed in embarrassment as he pulled it out then sighed heavily. "You had me worried sick about it! Dont play with me like that!" she said but looked relieved.
Then she hugged him back and smiled. "Your welcome, though it was meant for more as a surprise. Now if you are done messing around with me, where are you taking the ship? Its headed right back towards the storm we came out of," she said and looked up at Daryn before pulling away a little bit.

He chuckled a little, amused he'd had her going for a moment. "Ah, yes, it fell out of your rucksack earlier. That's how I got it. Anyway, I thought we'd go back to find that thing you lost. Though I'm not sure how lucky we'll be." They had been flying pretty fast and haphazardly in the thunderstorm.
"What did you lose anyway?" He was wondering if it might not be easier to replace it than to go back and find it.

Korra looked at the floor of the ship and closed her eyes briefly before looking back up at Daryn. "Forget about it. You wont find it. It was a hairband with a couple of charms on it," she replied but looked deeply saddened by loosing it.
Leaning against a wall, she brushed her hand through her hair. "It was my mothers. Its the only thing i had left from her. She died soon after i was born," she explained then tapped the tip of her boot of the carpeted floor. Tapping the tip of her doot on the carpeted floor out of habit, she sighed then smiled.
"Well lets get going to that terra you were talking about before we had to land for a stop," Korra said, brightening up her mood. Then she walked over to Daryn and kissed his cheek before heading back towards the control room.

"Oh, Korra, I'm sorry." He genuinely was, he understood what such an object represented. It was a reason he kept hold of his father's medallion.
He nodded and followed her back to the control room, his thoughts turning inward as he contemplated what he could possibly do. Replacing it wasn't exactly an option, but he was sure he could figure something out.
"Yeah, we're not too far. Having an airship will be useful." He grinned suddenly. "Hey, Korra, have you ever thought of becoming a bounty hunter?"

Korra paused and looked back at him. "A bounty hunter? No i havent. Why?" she asked. What would've made him ask something like that? She didnt kill people for the joy of it and she certainly never thought of doing so as a job.
Walking into the control room, she decided it was best if she didnt drive so she settled for sitting in the captain's seat. Really it was just some big comfy chair that was at a desk so she pulled it out and sat down, propping her feet up on the desk.

Daryn grinned as he followed her to the control room. "Well, I figured since we're using a bounty hunter's airship, we might as well carry out the persona. People don't usually second-guess bounty hunters--not to their face anyway. So it'd buy us a little more time and give us something to say other than "we're not pirates"."
He shrugged. "Just a thought. We don't actually have to do any bounty hunting; although it would be rather profitable." Not that he wanted to kill people, but he could just as easily find them and transport them to--oh wait, that wouldn't work. He'd be caught himself.
He sighed and leaned against the door. "Never mind. It would only work as far as the first convict--before they would recognize who we were."
