Korra was much tougher than anyone would think after first glance. As he threw his punch, she used the enforcer's wieght to lift up her legs and feet. Then she kicked him hard in the chest and sent both enforcers stumbling backwards with her. They fell onto their backs, Korra on top but theyre grips were too strong to shake off. Besides that, she couldnt feel her left wrist and she was pretty sure it was either dislocated or broken.
Breath coming in pants, her body suddenly gave out on her and she was too exhausted and strained to move. Laying her head back on the hot cement, she felt the throbbing pain from Eric's first punch and the burning in her lungs from lack of air.
Kyro sped up and was just coming up on them when Korra kicked Eric. Then suddenly she was down on the two enforcers and not moving. Her wrist looked funny too so Kyro quickly landed and let Daryn off.

The two enforcers scrambled to their feet, releasing their grips on Korra when the dragon came into view--and then fled.
Eric took a few steps back, ready to deliver his own judgement when Korra kicked him back. He landed hard, knocking the breath out of his lungs once again but fortunately not breaking anything.
And then the dragon was there in his face. Or rather, Daryn was, as the former petty officer 2nd class slid down from Kyro's back and leveled a gun at Eric's face.
"I could shoot you dead here and now, but I really don't want to incriminate myself further with the bounties on my head. So. I'm only going to say this once." Daryn pulled the hammer back on his pistol, keeping it leveled at Eric's face. "Where. Is. My. Father?"

Korra relaxed when the enforcers let her go and she stayed on the ground, not having the strength to get up at the moment. Then Kyro came over and lifted her onto his back, she leaned against his neck gratefully. The blackness swept over her like a blanket and she was out like a light. Luckily her wrist was only dislocated and not broken.
Kyro gently laid on his belly an watched as Daryn threatened the man. Kyro watched the man carefully as to make sure he wouldnt take off again because then he would have to go after him. Korra wouldnt be happy if she found out that Eric had gotten away. So now that she was passed out, it was Kyro's job to see that Eric was taken care of properly.

Eric inhaled sharply as he stared down the chamber of the gun that Daryn held. "I don't know. He's the one who deserted, why should I know where he went?"
Daryn growled under his breath. "Because of the few letters my father wrote, your name was in one. So tell me, where did you last see him." Daryn took one more step forward, his grip steadying.
Eric closed his eyes. "Look, I'm telling you; we write about each other all the time; I was just a midshipman on the ship when your father was with us."
The gunshot went off, the bullet whizzing past Eric's ear as the petty officer ducked. "What the hell?! You're going to shoot me?"
"I will if I have to get answers, and I'll start with your legs first. If I'm already wanted for treason, I might as well go all the way, right?"
Eric's face paled. "Alright, I'll tell you what you want to hear."
"Good," Daryn circled around Eric, shoving him towards the dragon. "You'll follow us back to the ship and tell us what we need to know. When I find my father, I'll let you return to the rest of your crew."
"But that's not fair!"
"Neither is being wanted for treason when I was kidnapped. Welcome to my life." Daryn shoved him forward again. "Let's go, Kyro."

Kyro grabbed Eric by his shirt and lifted him into the air, none to gently either. Then he waited for Daryn and took off. Getting back to the ship, he practically threw Eric down and let Daryn off gently. Then he gently picked up Korra and set her down on his legs as he bent his clawed feet under him. Gently nuzzling her then looking at Eric hostily.
Korra was dreaming about nothing in particular though occasionally Daryn entered in.
Korra was dreaming about nothing in particular though occasionally Daryn entered in.
Eric winced but with the dragon literally at his neck, he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. "Uh...Daryn?"
Daryn didn't even look at Eric, figuring Kyro had the man figured out. Instead his worry and attention was on Korra and her wrist. "Oh man, Korra, I hope it's not broken." It looked painful and that she wasn't awake yet told him it was an injury of some importance.
Eric glanced from the dragon to Daryn, what he could see of Daryn at least. "Hey, if you want, I'll take a look; I did intern for the doctor on board our ship for six months; I got good at diagnosing breaks and sprains."
Daryn glared over his shoulder at Eric. "Why should I trust you? You'll only make it worse."
Eric blinked. "Oh. I guess you're right. She's no friend of mine." He lay where he was, his arms crossed over his chest. "Good luck with that. I'll bet it hurts a ton."

Kyro gently picked up Korra and walked past Daryn, over to Eric. Gently setting her down next to him, he watched Eric closely and motioned for him to hurry up. If he even tried to make it worse, he would be a nice snack and his eyes told Eric that.
Kyro put his tail behind Daryn's back and pulled him forward towards the three. Daryn might being just trying to protect her but if this Eric guy could do something then it needed to be done. Korra stirred a bit and blinked open her heavy, tired lookin eyes. For some reason she looked childishly cute when she was sleepily like this.
Kyro was the first one she saw, then she saw Eric and Daryn. Her wrist suddenly filled with pain and she let out a small whimper and sat up quickly, holding it to her chest.

Daryn jumped as he felt Kyro's tail prodding him forward, but he did as the dragon wanted. He figured if the dragon knew that Eric was going to help, then the dragon must have something in mind.
"You better not hurt her," Daryn warned.
Eric snorted. "She's already hurt, that's not the point. Just keep her--" Korra awoke then, jerking her injured arm to her chest. "--still." Eric sighed and narrowed his eyes at Korra. "Look, tell your dragon not to eat me because of the four of us, I'm the only one who can tell if your wrist is broken or not. But. It's probably going to hurt a little." He eyed the dragon nervously.

Korra narrowed her eyes dangerously. "Dont tell me what to do. If Kyro feels hungry then so be it," she growled aggresively, the pain making her more agressive then usual. But her voice wavered a bit as the pain kept going, then she reluctantly held out her arm for him to take.
Kyro moved closer and edged Korra a bit closer to Eric before laying down to where she could lean into him. Which she did gratefully since her body still felt like jelly and heavy as lead. Suddenly she grabbed Daryn's hand and held it tightly since she knew it was dislocated. She could feel it and i did not feel good in the slightest. It felt so...wrong and gross. Knowing he would have to pop it back into place didnt help either since she had heard it hurts like hell.

Daryn gripped her good hand steadily, unsure of what Eric had in mind.
Eric gently took her injured hand, looking her in the eyes when she offered it to him. He carefully steadied her arm as he felt from her elbow down to her wrist and then he entwined his fingers with hers.
"You really should have taken better care-" he popped her wrist back into position "-to not steal a petty officer. Daryn will be difficult to replace."
Daryn scowled. "Me? They'll miss you more."
"Yes, but," Eric gently withdrew his hand from Korra's, and then grabbed a good length of gauze to begin wrapping her wrist, "the third class petty officer doesn't have your guts or your daring in the rigging. The midshipman don't look up to him."
Daryn blinked. Wait, was Eric telling him that he had followers on the ship? Since when? And why was Eric telling him this now?

Korra gritted her teeth and a small yelp of pain escaped when he popped it back into place. Gripping Daryn's hand with a death grip then relaxed when it was over. A throbbing pain was there but it was a little duller. Letting go of Daryn's hand, she scowled then jerked her arm away before he was done wrapping.
Kyro sensed the guilt and anger coming off her in waves. Already feeling guilty enough about taking him in the first place, she layed back against Kyro and snorted. "Yea well it wouldnt have happened if the idiot hadnt jumped on board. Its his own fault for trying to get it back. But im glad he did..." she argued then whispered the last part to herself.
Korra took off the guaze and dropped it in Eric's lap before getting up. "Thanks for fixing my wrist," she muttered with reluctance. She glanced at Daryn, smiling a bit. Then she walked off to the captain's quarters, figuring Daryn and Kyro had everything under control now. Kyro watched her go then layed his head down.

Eric winced as Korra pulled away; the dislocation would be painful for a few days, until the ligaments healed. But she was lucky she hadn't broken it.
"It's what any of us would have done," replied Eric, glancing at Daryn. "Except he has a bit more of a history of deserting in his family than the rest of us."
Daryn scowled at Eric. "There's no proof he deserted."
"Right," Eric drawled, "he just didn't come back."
"He could have been kidnapped or something," Daryn argued. "Pirates aren't so rare as we think."
Eric shook his head. "I'm just saying, it's desertion either way. And he hasn't returned or sent word. If you don't like it, take it up with the captain." Eric watched as Korra walked off. "So, a pirate eh? You know this doesn't help your case any."
Daryn kicked Eric's leg and then followed after Korra. The dragon could keep watch for now. "Korra?"

Korra gently rubbed her wrist as she walked down the hall, cursing quietly about her being stupid enough to jerk her arm away. Though she stopped and and turned around when she heard Daryn walking after her.
"Im sorry Daryn. I shouldve just dropped you off on the terra like i said i would. It was stupid of me to keep you on the ship with me," Korra said a little quietly but loud enough for him to hear. Leaning against the wall, she ran her unaffected hand through her hair and for a second her bangs were away from her face. But they quickly fell back into place and a little hair fell in front of her right eye hiding it from view.
Korra looked at the hallway floor and avoided Daryn's eyes. "It wouldve been easier for you. Besides Eric's right. No one could possibly be as brave or strong as you in the rigging. You've been on there a while and you love..well loved.. It," she added further then smiled a little bit imagining him working.
Kyro watched Eric carefully and decided to play with him. Licking his jaws, he halfway stood and took a step towards Eric. A gleam in his eyes as if he was gonna eat him.

"Hey, don't let what Eric said get to you." Daryn gently brushed Korra's hair back behind her ear, trying to look her in the eye. "What's happened has happened and frankly, I'm glad I met you. It's only turned out this way because of my father, if he hadn't deserted, then I wouldn't be in this situation in the first place."
He gently moved his hand to cup Korra's chin and make her look up at him. "I had no idea any of the other men respected me on that ship; I broke up so many fights that I was sure they hated me." He looked down at his scarred hand. "The rigging scared me the most, to be honest. I only became the best because I kind of just threw myself into it--forcing myself not to care if I slipped and fell."
He looked away. "I'm not brave; if anything I'm foolhardy. The only thing that kept me going was providing for my mother and siblings." Softer he added, "And right now...you."
Eric, meanwhile, stared in horror at Kyro. And then scrambled backwards as he was able to from the dragon. "Hey! Stay away! I'm warning you..."

Korra relaxed a bit and grinned even though she was sure he wasnt meaning for her to hear it. Gently placing her hand on his cheek, she softly turned his head to look at her. Eyes glimmering with overjoy though she contained herself from jumping on him. Standing on her tip toes, she gently kissed his lips and smiled into the kiss.
Then after the kiss, she hugged him gently and put her head on his shoulder. "I love you Daryn. And as much as i wish i hadnt taken everything from you..im overjoyed i met you.." she whispered in his ear. Then she pulled back and took his hand with the scar on the palm. Lightly tracing it, she smiled as she looked at it then back up into his green eyes.
Kyro gave Eric a wicked, dragon grin. Then grabbed him and tossed him in the air before snapping his jaws around him. He was careful not to hurt him or swallow him, instead he just kept him in his mouth. Then layed down as if he wasnt about to let Eric out.

Daryn smiled after the kiss and hugged her briefly in return. "I'm still glad we met," he agreed. Really, he couldn't imagine his life now without her. "How's your wrist? I think there are some cold compresses in one of the medical kits."
Eric yelled in terror as the dragon lunged forward and gobbled him up. The stench of a dragon's mouth nearly made him pass out. The Petty Officer was used to clean, if thin air; not the foul reek of dragon breath. And he hammered with his fists where he could on the dragon's mouth.
"Let me out!"

Korra smiled embarrassedly and moved her injured wince, letting out a faint hiss. "Well it hurts like hell. I think i shouldve let him finish wrapping it.. I always wind up getting myself hurt some way or another," she said the last part more as a mood lightener and laughed softly.
Korra then heard Eric's yell and she groaned. "Kyro... I cant believe you actually left him with Kyro," she said then smiled and shook her head before taking his hand. Intertwining their fingers, she pulled him after her as she headed back to the loading bay. Where Kyro was calmly laying down and Eric was nowhere to be seen, but his muffled yelling could be heard from Kyro's mouth.
Korra let go of Daryn's hands and crossed her arms over her chest, putting all her wieght on one foot. "Kyro. Drop Eric. Right now," she said firmly.
Kyro looked dissappointed but opened his mouth and let Eric tumble out. Now covered in dragon spit and reeking to high heaven. Kyro gave a dragon grin at Korra as if he did nothing wrong. Korra couldnt help but melt at it and smiled at Kyro. Ignoring Eric and walking over to Kyro.
"Aw. Is my poor Kyro hungry?" she asked sweetly and pet his cold scaly snout.

Daryn brightened a little at her joke and then shrugged. "What? If Kryo does eat him, then at least he doesn't have to worry about being a traitor or a deserter."
Eric stumbled out of Kyro's maw, dripping and cursing like a sailor. He sort of fell into a heap, quivering, mumbling non-sensical things to himself or anyone who was listening.
Daryn scowled at Eric. "For a Petty Officer, you certainly uphold the title of "petty"."
Eric growled but didn't readily reply. Too shaken by the dragon and his near death experience to come up with a retort.
Daryn sighed. "I guess we need to find food for the dragon, there's a shop not too far away. Or..." he kept his gaze fastened on Eric, "we could let him eat his fill here."
"No!" Eric yelled. "No, no, anything but that!"

Korra rolled her eyes at the two men. "Daryn stop torturing the man. Kyro stop trying to eat people. And Eric dont be a baby just cause you got put into a dragon's mouth," she ordered but her voice was gentler than before. Especially to Eric since he was so scared out of his wits.
Bending down next to him, she looked in his eyes and a gentle, reasuring, calm could be found there. "He wont eat you. Hes just a big baby and wont eat anything other than animal meat. He doesnt eat people. Let me show you to a room so you can at least get a bath. No offense but you reek," she said the last part teasigly then held out her hand for him to take so she could help him up.
Korra could be pretty nice and sweet when she wanted to be. Though she may very much dislike Eric, he did help her out so she thought she could only do the same.
Kyro looked from Korra to Daryn then he motioned from Daryn to Korra to Eric. As if motioning that Eric would steal Korra from Daryn but Kyro was just teasing Daryn and Daryn would be able to tell cause Kyro was giving a dragon, teasing, grin.
Korra wouldnt choose Eric over Daryn if her life was being put at risk. She would always choose Daryn.

Eric, sensing no lies in Korra's words, nodded and steadily calmed. Perhaps a bit too quickly. When Korra offered her good hand to him, he accepted it carefully. Pulling himself to his feet, he suddenly yanked her towards him, one arm going around her neck, the other grabbing her injured wrist and pulling the arm behind her back.
Once she was secured against him, he looked at Daryn, who, distracted briefly by the dragon's jest, looked up in surprise and then shock.
"ERIC! What the hell are you doing? Let her go!"
Eric narrowed his eyes, his hold firm around Korra. "Make one move, Daryn, and I will break her wrist. And possibly her arm to go with it. You made a poor decision trying to use me for a hostage or as collateral or what-have-you. Now. If you don't mind. You'll open the hatch, and you'll accompany me--both of you--back to my ship. Is that clear?"
Daryn was frozen; if he moved the wrong way, Korra would suffer.
