Korra hummed quietly to herself then unstrapped her thigh holster an placed it on the oak desk in the far corner of the room. Before she made her way over to the bed and removed her boots. Setting them down by the bed, finally laying onto her back with a tired sigh as the soft bathroom light glinted dully off her belly but she looked up at the plain white ceiling. Not once noticing another presence in the room as she waited for Daryn to come back.
Aiden smiled as Eric left and looked over to Daryn. "Tell me something petty officer Keeble. Are you willing to take care of Korra?" he asked seriously. Studying Daryn's eyes for a truthful answer. Aiden wanted to make sure he could leave it to Daryn and that he was the right man for it. If he was leaving his only girl with a man he had to make sure that he would treat her right.

Eric tapped his knuckle against the door frame before entering the room, giving her a heads up before barging in.
"Ya know, Daryn's a nice guy; probably too nice f'r his own good," he drawled.
---
Daryn blinked at Aiden and then nodded. Determination and resolve hardened his voice. "Of course, sir. Korra and I..." he flushed a little, but didn't look away, "we talked about it already. I'm used to providing for a family--I send home part of my paycheck when I'm able to. Have been doing so ever since..." he looked away, "Ever since my father disappeared."

Korra sat up quickly, taken off guard as she heard Eric's voice. Quickly, she got off the bed and stood beside it then looked at Eric. "I think hes compassionate. Its something i admire in a man. What are you doing in here Eric?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
A little unsettled by him being drunk and in here, she started to edge away from the bed. Slowly as to not alert him too much, she headed for the oak desk and her gun.
Aiden nodded and looked at Daryn intently. "Well like i said before dinner, we will help you find your father. It seems my daughter has made you a promise and i will help her to keep it. I will also dismiss the label of deserter if you wish it or it is proven he isnt. But Daryn, I see that Korra really does love you and i intend for you to treat her well if you love het back. If anything happens to her..its your head i will be taking," he said seriously and leaned over the table, puttin his elbows on the table and his chin on his hands.

Eric watched her move from the bed to the desk, in his drunken haze he didn't realize she was going for the gun until she was nearly upon it. He only smiled and lifted his hands up emptily before him.
"I wouldn't hurt you, Korra. Never in a million years." Apparently he had forgotten about his earlier behavior with her wrist. He stepped towards her. "I'm not a bad person."
Daryn swallowed and nodded. "I would like that to be stricken from my record," he agreed. "And I would never do anything to hurt Korra. I promise. I would never forgive myself if she got hurt because of me." Although accidents did happen on ships, but that wasn't what he was referring to, and he figured the Captain would know that.
"Thank you, sir." He shifted impatiently, his eyes straying to the door through which Eric had left. He wasn't going to leave without being dismissed, but he was worried about what might happen while he was tied up here and Eric and Korra had the rest of the ship to themselves.

Korra let her hand drop away from her gun but she warily watched him before sitting in the chair by the desk. "Then why are you in here?" she asked him seriously. Korra knew all to well what happened when men got drunk and there was a woman around. Being on the pirate ship had taught her that all too well.
Not relaxing, Korra looked from the door to Eric. Thinking about making an excuse to leave, she stood up and started to slowly try and walk around him. But she had to get close to him in order to get to the door so her skin lightly brushed along his as she started to go for the doorway. "I-I think i left something in the kitchen," she mummbled nervously.
Aiden didnt see why Daryn was so fidgety. But he observed Daryn for a moment before he wave dhis hand in dismissal. Just before Daryn could leave however, Aiden called him back. "Here i want you to give this to Korra," he said while handing Daryn her mothers colorful hairband with the bronze charms. "I believe she lost that," he said with a smile.

Daryn recognized the accessory almost at once and his eyes widened. "How did you even get this?" he asked.
Eric grabbed Korra's arm as she brushed past him, turning her so that she faced him.
"I'm sorry for Kyro," he said suddenly, and then released her. Without another word he turned and headed for his room.

Aiden smiled then stood up. "I think thats too much information to give out Keeble. You should head back to the room. Im sure Korra is waiting on you," he said before leaving the room himself. Heading back to his room, he stopped when he saw Eric walking out of Daryn and Korra's room.
"Eric! Exactly what were you doing in my daughters room?" he asked, stopping Eric fron going any further until he got answers. He hadnt missed the lingering looks that Eric had been givin her at dinner.
Korra was taken off guard as he apologized to her then walked out. Leaning agains the wall next to the doorway. Calming her now speeding heart race, she shut the door softly before going back over to the bed. Which she crawled into but kept the wieght off her injured wrist. Then she leaned against the wall and pulled her knees to her chest. Well at least she could trust Eric.

Eric flinched and looked guiltily at the Captain. "I was just apologizing," he said, and then sprinted back to his room before anymore could be asked of him. He had his pride, too.
Daryn, slower on the uptake than the others, missed that Eric had come out of his and Korra's room, but he was still unsettled.
"Korra?" He knocked on the door and peered into the room, not quite setting foot into the room just yet. "You in here?" He saw her on the bed and frowned. "You alright?" He entered, kicking his boots off, and glancing at the desk in passing to see her gun there.

Aiden watched Eric sprint away and raised an eyebrow before going across the hall into his room which was two doors down from the captain's quarters. He let Daryn and Korra have it for now but when they got the new crew they would have to move into a different room. Aiden didnt quite trust Eric being alone with Korra but he wouldnt accuse him yet.
Korra looked up and a smile graced her lips as Daryn walked in. "Im fine. Just waiting for you is all," she said happily and got up off the bed. A little bounce in her step as she walked over to Daryn. Her gold curls slightly bounced as she walked and her bangs fell in front of her eyes momentarily before she swept them to the side again. Deciding not to tell Daryn about Eric's surprise visit since he didnt do anything to her and she didnt see him as a threat.

Eric locked himself in his room that night. Unless the ship was failing or drifting off course, he was going to be sleeping soundly and not dreaming of Korra.
Daryn relaxed a little and grinned at Korra. "Oh. Sorry I took so long; Aiden," he tried the name and frowned, "Captain Sage..." he hesitated and tried a third time, "Your father just wanted a few words with me. I told him I'd take care of you. And he seemed to be okay with it." A grin swamped his face then; whatever the lingering threat had been, just being with Korra had made Daryn forget all about it.

Korra smiled and stood on her tip toes, kissing him gently. "Well im overjoyed he accepted you becuase even he didnt i wouldnt give you up," she murmured. Then she pulled him over to the bed gently and crawled in with him.
Letting go of his hand, she crawled under the covers and layed her head back on a pillow with a sigh. "Daryn? Can i ask you something?" she asked quietly and looked over at him. She turned onto her side and propped her head up with her hand. Daryn looked..very handsome in his loose clothes. Her thoughts wandered a bit and she blushed before shaking her hea to clear it. A small laugh escaped her lips.

Daryn accompanied her over to the bed, shrugging off his outer vest and his belt and gun holster, before climbing onto it.
"Sure," he said, watching her curiously. She was so full of life and happy, despite the earlier circumstances. He wanted her to be happy like this always--and he hadn't even given her the heirloom from her mother yet.
"What did you want to ask me?" he asked softly, laying back and turning onto his side, matching her posture.

Korra smiled then moved a little closer to him. "Do you trust Eric?" she asked quietly. Thinking about what he had done earlier by coming into the room. Something told her that she shouldnt hang around with Eric too much. It had been uncomfortable for her when he entered the room. Besides she had a feeling he had been standing there longer than he let on.
Looking at the covers on the bed, she bit her bottom lip softly and thought about telling Daryn about it. Eric hadnt done anything but she wasnt completely sure he wouldnt if he got a good chance. Well she didnt really have to worry since both her dad and Daryn were on the ship too. So that was good and she doubted that Eric would be around her too much. Besides he doesnt seem to like her too much considering she had hit him quite a few times.

The question alone alerted Daryn that something was up, but he merely frowned. "I trust him as a commanding officer not to make decisions to get me killed in battle, but, the way things are now, I think you should be careful with him."
He sighed and slipped his arm around Korra. "It's not that I don't trust him, I just don't want you to be hurt." Daryn looked down and plucked at the blanket. "And, well, Eric has a bit of a reputation on the ship. With women at least. I daresay the captain either doesn't know of it or chooses to turn a blind eye to it. I'm not sure which and I'd rather not know, to be honest."
He looked back to Korra, gently touching her cheek. Softly he asked, "Did something happen?"

Korra watched him and smiled just cause he was so darn handsome. Then his question made her fall silent and look away from him. "Well he didnt do anything but he came into the room and told me he was sorry. Sorry about loosing..K-Kyro.." she choked quietly on Kyro's name but she didnt start to cry. It just hurt to think about it.
Then she cuddled into Daryn's hold and put her head on the edge of his pillow. Forgetting about Eric though, she smiled up at Daryn and studied his features etching them into her mind. Then she sat up a bit and kissed him gently before pulling away a little. "We should get some rest.." she whispered and smiled, laying back down with her head on the edge of his pillow again.

Daryn gently rubbed her shoulder at the mention of Kyro, but he didn't say anything. He did make a mental note of talking to Eric about this later. And if need-be, the captain.
He settled down next to Korra. "Rest would be good," he agreed. And then the day's events caught up with him and he was out faster than a candle in a rainstorm.

Korra never did fall asleep and it was earlier than everyone else when she got out of the bed silently. It was barely dawn when she went into the kitchen and cooked breakfast for four. Then she piled the food onto plates and set the table ready for the three most likely hungry men.
Setting two pain reliever pills next to Eric's plate with a cup of water. No doubt he would have a major hangover today. Then she ate her plate quickly and washed it up then put it up in the cabinet. Sneaking silently back into her and Daryn's room and grabbing her tools before silently leaving. Then she went down to the loading bay and tied up her hair. Grabbing her torch, she lit up then welded the hatch with that creature in it shut.

Daryn would beat Eric in getting up for the morning, but only because just contemplating standing up was inspiring the room to spin. He wasn't a light weight drinker and he hadn't really had that much to drink, or so he had thought, but finally once he had righted himself and staggered out of the room, he'd run into Daryn in the hallway.
Daryn glanced suspiciously at Eric, who looked slightly paler than usual. "Told you you shouldn't have had that last drink."
Eric scowled. "Stop talking; my head hurts."
Daryn took advantage of Eric's momentary weakness, grabbing him by the shirt collar and shoving him back against the ship's wall. "If you ever so much as look at Korra wrong, I will see to it that it's the last time you do so."
Eric winced and shut his eyes briefly. "Look, nothing happened between us, okay? Nothing. Besides, I've got better things to think about than her."
Daryn let him go and they found plates of food waiting for them. Daryn shook his head briefly before digging in. Eric took his time, wincing between bites and downing the water.

When Korra finished welding the hatch shut, she stood up and turned off her torch. Then put it in her tool belt that actually made her look pretty cute when it hung off her hips. Walking into the dining room where the two men were eating, she didnt bother to take the tool belt off but she let her hair down. It fell around her face like it had been last night and she side swept her bangs again. Smiling when she saw Daryn up, she kissed his cheek and murmured a good morning just in case he had a headache as well.
Then she stood up straight and looked over at Eric, mouthing a good morning. Then pointing to the pain killers which had rolled under the lip of his plate. "Make sure you down those or else you wont be able to drive well. Do you need some too Daryn?" she asked quietly after pretty much ordering Eric to do something.

Daryn offered a smile as Korra returned, his gaze flicking briefly to check Eric's reaction. Eric didn't really look up; he scrabbled for the tablets and then downed those with an extra large gulp of water.
"Thanks," he said softly, grudgingly, and then stared at the rest of his eggs. "I think I'm done. Wake me if we're about to crash." He walked slowly out of the dining room, his gaze sliding around to look briefly at Korra as he made his exit. It was impossible to know what he was thinking though, or if his headache eclipsed all thought.
Daryn scowled and sighed as Eric left. "I'm fine, Korra. I only had two glasses of wine." He let his gaze drift from Korra's face to her waist with the tool belt. He arched a brow. "What are you working on?"
