Korra felt a little hurt as if Eric was avoiding her but she wasnt sure why. Wondering if it was because she ordered him to take the tablets, she thought she would apologize to him later. Then all her attention was to Daryn as he looked at the tool belt.
Smiling, she leaned against the table and looked at her boots breifly before meeting his eyes. "I welded the hatch in the loading bay shut," she explained with a grin. As the tool belt hung on her low hips it made her look sexy but she didnt really notice.
Leaning down she planted a gentle kiss on his lips only to pull away when her father walked in. Aiden had a bright smile on his face and he breifly hugged Korra. Then planted a light kiss on the side of her head, taking her off guard. "Good morning Korra," he said happily then sat at his place at the table. Nodding to Daryn. "Morning Daryn," he said before digging into his food.
Korra stood up straight and looked at her dad surprised. "Uh good morning dad," she replied and glanced at Daryn questioningly.

Eric wasn't mad at Korra, per se, but it wouldn't be a lie either to say he was avoiding her. Or, well, anyone for that matter. He was just grateful not to have to encounter the captain's booming voice.
Daryn relaxed a little. "Oh." And then started as he remembered what was down there. "Right." He looked down briefly; poor Kyro. They'd have to get rid of the body at some point before it began to smell.
And then he snapped to attention as the captain entered, grinning at Korra when she was hugged. "Good morning, sir. Sleep well?"

Aiden grinned and finished off his plate rather quickly. "I slept very well petty officer Keeble. Thank you. Well we are going to be landing in port today and i want Daryn to accompany me to town. We will be looking for crew members. Korra, i need you to do some repairs on the ships engines and outside frame," he said and took up all the plates at the table. He left no room for arguments as he went into the kitchen and cleaned of the plates then put them up.
Korra was thoroughly confused at his happy mood but suddenly got excited when he told her to do some work. If it would make her father happy with her, she would be glad to do it. Leaning down, she kissed Daryn's cheek with a smile. "Seems like my father wants to get to know you better," she said quietly then took his hand and led him out of the dining room. Then walked to Eric's room and knocked. "Eric? We're gonna need you to steer the ship into port here in a bit," she said and waited for the door to open.

Daryn grinned, hugging Korra briefly while Aiden was busy with the dishes. "Of course, we'll try to pick up a good crew. Be careful," he told her, meaning not just with repair work but also with Eric.
The door opened, revealing a much better looking Eric. He'd managed to clean himself up and didn't look nearly so hung over as he had earlier--obviously the tablets, food, and most recently a shower had helped his mood some.
"Oh, uh, sure." He brushed past her, closing the door behind him so that Korra couldn't see much more than the well-made bed behind him. He tromped down the hallway, not bothering to exchange pleasantries--Daryn's warning still ringing in his ears.

"I will be. Dont worry about me," Korra chirped happily, thinking he was only speaking of her working on the outside of the ship.
Korra frowned as Eric just brushed past her and walked away. Though she didnt let it bring down her mood and she turned to Daryn with a grin. "Im so happy that everything is working out for me. Especially with you," she said quietly then stood on her tip toes and kissed him gently.
Aiden went into the control room and was surprised to see Eric there. They were just coming upon the port and he was preparing for the trip to town. "Well i think i should let you know that im taking Daryn to town and we are going to gather up some crew members. Korra will be here working on the engines and outside of the ship. It needs some repairs. Make sure she is safe when she goes to the outside of the ship. Its easy for her to slip and fall off. I want her to be safe," he ordered.

Eric nodded at the captain. "Aye, sir, she'll be safe enough." He was rather curious that the captain was taking Daryn, but perhaps the captain was merely scouting Daryn for a promotion. It wouldn't be the first time. And frankly, Eric wasn't sure he wanted to leave the ship right now to talk with a bunch of crazy airmen. "Good luck, sir."
Daryn bent his knees a little so that Korra didn't have to lean so far up, meeting her kiss halfway. He chuckled. "Things are looking up, aren't they."
(ooc: And this is the perfect port stop (heh heh) for them to run into Daryn's father. Question is, as far as backstory goes, did Daryn's father and Korra's father have any ties and if so, what?)

Aiden waited for the ship to dock with a jolt before he left the control room. Walking towards the loading bay, he opened the ramp and waited for Daryn just outside on the docks.
Korra smiled and nodded. "Yea they are," she murmured back. Then she leaned on Daryn as the ship jolted when it was docked. Then Korra gave Daryn one more quick kiss before shooing him off. "Dont make my dad wait or he might rethink," she teased with a soft laugh. Then when he left, she turned and headed to the engine room. Quickly setting to work of repairs after shutting them off.
(Ooo perfect timing:D hmm how about they were old childhood friends and both had the thought of becoming captain but Korra's dad did first and invited Daryn's dad to work for him? As far as backstory goes)

Daryn grinned at Korra. "I'd never give him time to rethink that." He brushed part of her bangs out of her face before he parted from her. "I'll be back before you know it," he called to her as he trotted for the loading bay doors.
He found Aiden there and nodded respectfully to him. "I'm ready," he said with a grin. "How many men are we looking for, anyway?"
Eric finished adjusting things here and there to keep the ship steady. For that matter, he turned the ship so that it faced any incoming winds that were likely to happen across them. With any luck, it would keep Korra out of the brunt of the winds for the most part and keep her safe.
Done with that, he decided to scope out the rest of the ship.

Korra smiled as she watched him leave then waved a quick bye. While she was working in the engine room, it got very hot and she had to take off her over shirt and hang it on a pipe above her head. Now she had on her half shirt and was leaning over one of the bigger engines.
Frowning as she discovered what was wrong and let out a heavy sigh. They would need new parts for this one so she wrote it down on her arm then threw her overshirt back on and replaced her tools back on her tool belt. Leaving the engine room, she saw Eric coming her way and stopped him by touching his arm. "Hey did i do something wrong?" she asked with a small frown.
Aiden thought for a moment and was leading Daryn into town at the same time. "Well we need a chef or two, a navigator, some men to work in the rigging with you, a weapon speacialist, a few men to work the engines and keep everything handeled there. So in all we will probably need at least ten or fifteen more men," he explained to Daryn and looked at him waiting for his agreement or disagreement.

Eric flinched away from Korra's touch. A surprising move given his history. "No, it's not you; it's Daryn. Seriously, that guy has issues," he grumped, "he doesn't need to be so protective of you."
He paused briefly, looking her up and down. "What'd you do anyway? You have engine grease all up and down your arm."
Daryn nodded. "Sounds good." He made a mental note to remember the kinds of people he would need if he ever planned to captain a ship. And with the idea of helping to recruit a good number of men to their ship, for the first time he forgot briefly about looking for his father.

Korra looked hurt briefly as he flinched away from her touch and she frowned clearly upset. "I was working on the engines. We need new parts for one but nothing too serious," she explained then turned on her heel rather abruptly. Just because Daryn was being protective didnt mean that Eric ha to act as if she was contagious or something.
So Korra mearly walked away from him and to the stairs leading up to the outside. Which she climbed and slammed the hatch shut behind her. Tieing a rope around her waist to secure her as she started to patch up some places. Though one gust of wind took her by surprise at its strength and it sent her sliding off the side. A shocked cry left her lips as she fell towards the wastelands but the rope luckily did its job and she hit the side of the airship with a thud and a groan.
Aiden smiled and led him into a nearby store. Which he gave Daryn a list of supplies to order an pointed him to the store owner before he escaped into the back room. He had already gotten a hold of a chef and wanted to talk to him before he just hired him straight off the bat.

Eric frowned as Korra stormed away. Usually it was he who did the storming. But ah well, women would be women. He was about to resume exploring again when he heard an odd thud from outside the ship. Without thinking, for he remembered Captain Aiden's orders, he bolted up the stairs and through the hatch that Korra had gone up.
"Korra?!" He saw the rope disappear over the edge of the ship and he quickly flattened himself to the ship's surface. He was no rigging expert, but he knew a few things when it came to avoiding being blown off the top of a ship. "Korra!" he peered over the edge to see her dangling at the end of a rope. "Are you okay?"
He had another coil of rope in his hand, securing one end to the hatch before tying himself into a rudimentary rope-harness.
Daryn accepted the list and then went to talk to the shop owner to get their materials gathered. It wasn't anything he wasn't used to in terms of typical duties for an officer of an airship. "Scuse me, sir? Do you have these items in stock? We're looking to stock up on supplies." He approached with a smile.

Korra coughed as the rope tightened considerably on her stomach. Wincing, she could tell it would leave a major bruise she was just lucky nothing was broken. Looking up to Eric when he yelled down to her. "Im fine. A bruise or two but nothing major," she yelled back up to him.
Wincing as the rope bit into her belly's skin when a strong wind made her slightly swing from side to side. It did not feel very good and she looked up at Eric, kinda getting irritated with the pain. "Hurry up and help me up Eric!" she yelled up, a slight hint of panic in her tone as she saw the knot on her tie start to loosen. Then it slowly started coming undone and the blood drained from her face. "Eric!" she yelled as soon as the knot gave out. A cry of fear left her lips but she grabbed the rope a she fell. The rope burning into her hand and her body jolted as she managed to come to a stop just at the end of the rope.
Aiden came to terms with the chef and smiled, shaking his hand. "Well come to the ship tommorow at the break of dawn. Everyone else should be there and we'll get you situated. I have my 2nd class petty officer getting the supplies you'll need right now," he informed before leaving. Checking on Daryn, he leaned on the counter as the man went to check for the supplies. "We can get them delivered by late tonight," he informed Daryn.

Eric was already over the side of the ship when Korra asked for help. And then his stomach lurched and a curse escaped him when she plummeted for a few feet.
"Korra!" He scrambled down the rest of the length of rope he was tied to and grabbed her arm. Drat, he should have brought more rope to her. "Hang on!"
Fortunately his own rope was long enough to allow him to drop next to her. "Grab hold of me, I can get us topside." Yeah, Daryn would be pissed, but he figured he'd be even more upset if Korra fell to her death. Not to mention so would the captain.
Daryn glanced over his shoulder at the captain. "Oh, okay then." He handed the list over to the shopkeeper. To the captain. "Would you like me to help with the recruiting?"

Korra gladly hung onto Eric, wrapping her arms around him tightly and burying her face in his shirt. In all honesty she was terrified of working on the outside of ships because of this very thing. But she hadnt protested because she wanted to make her dad proud of her. Which wouldve happened if she hadnt been so stupid as to stand up.
Her whole body was trembling from the near death experience and she wouldnt let go of Eric. Even when they did get safely back on top.
Aiden nodded and took out another list with many shop names on it. Then ripped it in half and handed half to Daryn. "Okay go to these shops. Talk to these people explain to them how much they get paid and that they start tommorow. Im trusting you to acess them well," he explained and looked at Daryn for a moment. Before nodding an leaving him to it while he went to the other half of the shops.

Eric hoisted them topside and then looked down at the hatch. The occasional gust of wind still tugged at them, but for the most part they were safe. "Alright, you can let go, we're at the hatch. I'll fix the outside."
He awkwardly stood there, unsure of what to do next and oh-so-grateful that Daryn wasn't around to see them. Although no doubt Daryn would have been the one to save Korra.
Daryn looked at the sheet of paper and then at the captain. "Aye, sir!" A grin broke out across his face at the additional responsibility. "I'll pick only the best." And then barring any additional words of advice from the captain, he'd be heading for the farthest shop--to work his way back to the ship.

Korra slowly peeled herself off of Eric then quickly scrambled into the hatch and down the stairs. Sitting safely at the bottom with her head in her hands. That was twice she had almost fallen into the wastelands and there wasnt going to be a third time. Running a shaky hand along her bangs, she swept them to the side then stood up. Quickly escaping into the comfort of her and Daryn's room, she closed the door and crawled into the bed. Taking off and tossing her tool belt else where, still trying to calm her trembling body.
Aiden had soon rounded up his half of the crew members and waited bythe first store for Daryn. Thats when he saw someone familar and he nearly choked on his drink. Was he seriously seeing Daryn's father? Or was this some messed up trick of the mind? When it didnt go away, he quickly approached the man and stopped him by grabbing his arm. Turning him around, he was shocked to find it really was him.

(ooc: And multiple povs is GO. )
Eric ran a hand through his hair; a fall like she'd taken would have scared anyone, seasoned shipman or not. He shut the hatch behind her and then carried on with the repair work. There wasn't too much that needed to be done, but he wasn't going to let Korra risk herself again.
Once he'd finished, he went back inside the ship to prepare lunch. There was no telling when the captain or Daryn would be back, so he made sure to make enough for them as well, keeping it covered so the flies wouldn't get to it.
He took an extra plate with him, deciding he should probably check on Korra and give her lunch as well. He checked the engine room first, and came up empty before deciding she had probably gone back to her room. Awkwardly holding two plates, he kicked his boot against the door, knocking in lieu of his hands.
Daryn made good progress. Those he talked to either confirmed they would arrive on time or he bypassed them altogether. He figured the captain would understand if he passed over a few of the more questionable characters.
Daryn's father, Jason, had heard rumors about a shipman deserting and that a bounty hunter was looking for him, so he had emerged briefly from his hole to find out more information. For all that he was an absentee father, he still wanted the best for his son and it hurt him to think that Daryn was following in his path.
However, the arm on his shoulder made him jump and he turned to look into a face he hadn't seen since he had deserted his ship. His face paled.
"Aiden?" The captain, his former friend and fellow airshipman, looked like he remembered; perhaps a little older, a little more responsible, but still the same. Jason, however, looked rather different; a jagged scar ran down his neck, from his right earlobe to his collarbone. And his dark eyes were wary. In addition, around his wrists, though covered by his long sleeves, were deep scars from ironcuffs that had been cinched far too tight for far too long. Whatever had caused his desertion, it obviously hadn't been an easy life for him thus far.

Korra nearly jumped out of her skin as she heard the knock. Groaning softly since she had just got into the bathtub. "Hold on!" she yelled so he could hear. Then she got out of the tub and dried off quickly, throwing on her old clothes and hurrying to the door. The tips of her hair were wet showing signs of wear she had been.
Opening the door, she looked at Eric then the food. "Oh. Thanks Eric. Im sorry for leaving you to finish the repairs yourself," she said and took her plate so he had one hand he could use. Then opened the door and invited him in, motioning towards the desk. Not particualry wanting to be alone and bored the rest of the day.
Aiden took in Jason's appearance then a grin spread across his face. "Jason! Im so happy we found you! Your son has been looking for you for a long while. Its really a funny story but its a long one. What are you doing? Are you crazy for hiding for so long? What happened to you?" questions spilled out of his mouth then he shook his head and a deep chuckle escaped. "No. Nevermind. You can tell us over dinner. You've gotta come back to the ship with me and Daryn. My daughter will be very happy to meet the father of her lover," he teased Jason and nudged him gently.
Aiden was actually overjoyed that he had found his old friend.
(Good luck:D if you need me to do anything let me know)

Eric hesitated, and then ducked his head. "If you're sure," he offered and stepped into the room. Unlike last time, he didn't seem to take up the entire doorway as he passed through it to grab one of the extra seats at the desk.
"It's not a problem," he said, meaning the ship. "I'm used to doing that kind of work. It takes guts and good knots to stay topside." He studied the desk for a moment before looked into Korra's face. "You took quite a fall. Are you sure you're okay?"
Daryn took his time...
Jason, on the other hand, seemed to have frozen in his tracks. The questions would take time to answer, but he was more surprised by Aiden's readiness to accept him back as...as a friend. He pulled away from Aiden's grip and glanced around, nervously. "I can't come back to the ship." His face fell, a sad look crossing over it. "Forgive me, Aiden." In a swift movement, he seized Aiden's arm and drew a gun, pressing it against the captain's side. "You need to come with me for now."
