Korra smiled and Daryn pulled her against him but she looked up at him as he talked about her dad. "I know..thank you for getting under the covers. Its ten times warmer," she murmured against his lips since she had moved their lips closer together until they were brushing. Then she kissed him again, wrapping her arms back around his neck since he was now under the covers. Her body relaxed as she kissed him and warmth flooded through her as they kissed.

Aiden gave a grunt as he got up from his bed. Then he slipped on his boots and walked out to Eric's room. "If you want to check up on Korra you better come with me. I highly doubt Daryn will leave her side for a while so this is your chance," he said through the door. Aiden trusted that Eric had no intentions of going after his daughter so he trusted him enough to leave them alone together since he already had today.

Daryn grinned and shut up, snuggling next to Korra. He was glad she was okay.

Eric listened and then hesitated. If he was with the captain, Daryn couldn't get mad... So he grabbed his boots as well.

"I'll come," he said, hollering through the door until he reached it and swung it open. "I want to make sure she's okay." He really did.

Meanwhile, back on the darkened streets of the town, Jason was going about his sneaky business, preparing for his escape via airship in the morning.

Korra pulled away from Daryn and sat up as a sudden coughing fit racked through her. A chill seeped down her spine but she just waved it off and snuggled deeper into Daryn and the covers. "It was stupid of me to stand in that stream.." she said quietly.

Aiden waited for Eric then walked off down to their room. Where he knocked then waited a moment before entering. "Korra? Is she awake Daryn?" he asked when he didnt hear Korra's muffled "yea?". Motioning for Eric to follow, he approached the bed and leaned over to see a cold looking Korra.

Korra blinked up at her dad but made no movement to get out from under the covers to see Eric or Aiden. Instead she stayed snuggled up to Daryn not wanting him to leave. Cause she knew as soon as her and her dad were alone, he would scold her till her ears bled. Figuratively of course.

Daryn squeaked as he heard the captain at the door and felt caught. He was in bed with Korra for crying out loud! Never mind the fact they were both still closed. His face turned beet red when they entered. And he saw Eric entering behind Aiden.

Eric only briefly looked at Daryn, and what passed between the two was an obvious challenge. Eric silently dared Daryn to try anything with the captain watching.

Daryn instead cut the glare short. He patted Korra's back trying to help her with the coughing fit. "She's awake sir," he said unnecessarily, "but cold. Figure combining body heat would be best."

It had happened in the past when an airship had drifted too high and several members of the crew had acquired hypothermia. He started to wiggle out of the covers, wanting to get her some tea...but it wasn't looking like he would get far.

Korra wrapped her arms around Daryn as he tried to leave but she couldnt say that the words he said about combining heat didnt sting her a bit. Was he embarrassed to be with her or was it just the fact that her father was there?

Aiden couldnt help the low chuckle that escaped him as he looked at Daryn in amusement. "Daryn could you please come with me in order to make some tea for Korra? I also need to speak with you," he said and walked out into the hall to wait for Daryn.

Korra watched her dad leave and gave Daryn a quick kiss on the cheek before letting him go. Though she did snuggle further in the bed and blankets for warmth.

Aiden waited till Daryn was next to him before he started walking. "Eric told me that Korra fell off the top of the ship today. Almost fell into the wastelands and it shook her up quite a bit. I want you to make sure that it hasnt seriously affected her. She could easily pretend like it hasnt but if it has, it could make it difficult for her while the ship is in motion," he explained as they were on their way to the kitchen.

Daryn nodded and slipped out, following Aiden past the doors, but not before glancing over his shoulder at Eric. The warning was clear in his eyes--if he tried anything there would be hell to pay.

He took a calming breath as he listened in shock to what was explained. "She fell?" He sounded incredulous. "Anyone would be shaken after that. I'll do my best sir." He fell silent, wondering what he could do or how he could approach the subject tactfully with Korra. If he blurted it out, she might get defensive or embarrassed or scared.

Eric looked at Korra, though she was buried beneath a mountain of blankets. "You really should try to talk some sense into Daryn. If he's this protective of you, I daresay it won't be long til he decides who you can and can't see, and where you can and can't go." He shrugged and then looked around the room some before asking: "How do you feel?"

Aiden nodded then looke at Daryn. "Did she not tell you? Eric told me that her rope even untied as she dangled there. She fell to the end of her rope before coming to a stop and Eric was hardly able to get to her in time. I dont want her doing that again but i also know i wont be able to stop her if she wants to do so," he said then walked into the kitchen and put on some water to boil.

A chuckle left him and he looked at Daryn with amusement. "You'll have your hands full with this one Daryn. It takes a strong man to be able to control-handle- a woman like her," he said with amusement and a tone that said "good luck".

Korra peeked out from underneath the covers and scowled as Eric said Daryn would be controlling her. "I think not! I can do whatever i please and even Daryn cant stop me," she replied hotly. It ended in a coughing fit that racked through her body. Then after it subsided, she groaned and buried her head in a pillow that had Daryn's musky smell on it. "I feel cold but im fine otherwise," she replied to his question. But it was obvious that she wasnt fine and that she was on the verge of getting sick.

"What? Eric saved her?" Surprise flitted across Daryn's face, as did suspicion. But he couldn't get angry. There was no point in being angry. Korra could have died earlier and he wouldn't have known about it. It was a good thing Eric had stayed behind then.

"Maybe I'll teach her some good knots then," he murmured, following Aiden into the kitchen and finding the tea to prepare a couple of mugs. Not just for Korra but for the rest of them who had been out in the chill. "Besides, the best way to handle a will-full person isn't to ban them from doing something, it's to give them their head and follow at their pace--hoping that they'll eventually get tired of running everywhere." It was good in theory anyway.

Eric frowned and sat down at the edge of the bed. He gently drew off one of the blankets, setting it over the heater to warm again. "You're not okay. You've had a long, rough day, and if you don't get sick, it'll be a miracle. You should rest though. I daresay Daryn and the captain are getting food or something to help you feel better."

His voice dropped in volume. "You weren't trying to, um, test yourself, were you? It was a miracle I was there to rescue you when you fell; you shouldn't try to make a habit out of this."

Korra drew in a shuddering breath as one of the thicker, warmer blankets was taken off. Then she sat up and didnt realize Eric was so close to where they were centimeters apart when she sat up. A frown creased her features though and she basically glared at Eric. "For your information, i wanted some fresh air after nearly falling to my death! I wanted time to think! I didnt realize that the temperature was dropping so quickly! Then i found the clearing and i felt..carefree again..like nothing could bother me..i was..content.." she started off whispe/yelling then it quieted down to just whispering. Staring at the blanket below her, she felt stupid for doing what she had done. Laying back on the bed again, she didnt look at Eric again afraid to see judgement in his eyes. Korra was afraid of judgement since thats how people had looked at her, her whole life.

Aiden clapped Daryn on the back and shook his head. "Trust me, Korra will be that way till the day she dies. Thats how her mother was. Nothing i did or said would make her change her mind when she wanted to do something. I just followed her as she did and protected her when i could. Not once had she settled down. Not even when she was pregnant with Korra," he said in a fond tone. Then started to pour the boiling hot water into four cups and mixed a few more things into it until it was done. Then he handed two of the teas to Daryn and took the other two.

Eric watched and waited for Korra to calm down before answering. He dragged the blanket off the heater to resettle it over her; he hadn't done more than blink when she had sat up mere centimeters from his face.

"I'm not judging you, Korra," he said. "I just want you to know that every sailor faces their fear at some point; it's how they overcome it that determines whether they make captain or not." Eric stepped back from the bed now that the warmer blanket was resettled. "Daryn had a similar experience to yours when he was just a midshipman, you know. And yet he's now an expert in the rigging. Few can do what he can do, and not many are crazy enough to try. But that's why..." Eric hesitated but pressed on, "that's why he'll probably make captain before I do."

And then Eric was on his feet and heading for the door.

Daryn grabbed the two cups, careful to make sure he didn't spill the hot liquid as he carefully led the way back to Korra's room.

Korra listened to Eric and when he started to leave, she slipped out of the warm bed and almost jumped back in when she met the colder air. But she quickly walked over to Eric and hugged him from behind for a second before pulling away from him. "Thank you Eric," she said to him before quickly escaping back into the warm depths of their bed. Again, burying her head in Daryn's pillow and pulling the warm blankets up to cover her neck.

Aiden was more experienced with carryig tea since he used to do it all the time for Anastasia when she was pregnant with Korra so he was soon passing Daryn. Then he entered the room just as Korra was climbing back into bed. "Korra Sage! Were you out of bed?!" he said in a fatherly, scolding tone making Korra stiffen and quickly hide under the covers.

Eric paused, more surprised than anything by Korra's hug. That she had braved the cooler temperature of the ship especially. But he felt warmed by her hug. At least she cared a little.

He almost had a smile on his face, though it vanished the moment the captain entered with his scolding tone.

"Sir, please be gentle with her," Eric said, and then dashed out the door, nearly running into Daryn who managed to save the tea at the last moment.

"Watch it!" Daryn yelled after Eric, before entering the room. So much for needing four cups of tea. "Korra, you okay in here?" He had missed her out of bed, though he hadn't missed the captain's bellowing question.

Aiden almost snapped at Eric about why he cared so much when he was dashing out of the room. He quickly turned back to Korra-the bed that Korra was in- before setting the teas on the desk. Marching over to the bed, he stood there with his arms crossed. "Korra Sage. You poke your little blonde head out of there right now and explain to me why you were out of bed," he ordered but to no avail as Korra stayed deep in the bed.

Korra stayed deep in the covers, not wanting to face her father. "No! Go away. I dont have to explain myself to yo-" one minute she had been in the covers and the next she was being thrown over her dads shoulder with a scream in surprise. He held her tightly as he walked out of the room and into the freezing cold hallways. "Dad!! Put me down!!" she yelled and squirmed in his tight hold. Beating on his back as she tried to get him to drop her but it didnt seem to affect him. Walking down to his own room, he suddenly dropped her into a bathtub filled with ice and ice cold water. Kprra came up gasping, trembling from the cold, and trying to get out of the tub. But Adien held her in the tub and kept her there. "Not until you learn to respect me Korra Sage," he said in a low voice.

Eric vanished around the corner, still within earshot but out of sight of anyone in the immediate area.

Daryn blinked and then winced as the captain hauled Korra physically out of the bed. "Sir...are you sure you should be doing that?" He was nervous, worried, and not at all sure that the captain knew what he was doing.

And then Aiden was striding down the hall back to his room with Korra over his shoulder.

"Are you an idiot?" Eric reappeared then, beside Daryn. "Don't just stand there, go after her!"

"But...it's the captain."

"So? Are you going to trust him with Korra in that condition? You're a bigger idiot than I thought. Grab some blankets and follow me." And Eric sprinted after the captain, leaving Daryn to bring up the rear.

Eric screeched to a halt outside the captain's quarters. He pounded on the door. "Sir? Excuse me for barging in--" he kicked the door open, "but you can't just haul her off like that!"

Eric froze when he saw the scene and then launched himself at the captain. "You're going to kill her doing that!"

Korra wasnt sure what was happening as Aiden dunked her under the water again. Coming up gasping and shivering violently, she couldnt process why her dad was doing this. Paleing fast and feeling numb, she tried to crawl out but it was a feeble attempt as Aiden held her firmly in the ice and water. Then Eric was rushing in and tackleing her dad to the ground.

Taking this chance, she tried to crawl out of the tub but her whole body was numb and shivering too hard for her to attempt it even. Unconciousness pricked at her body but she held it off.

Aiden was taken by surprise as Eric launched himself at him. Not knowing what had come over him, jus knowing that he had been so mad he couldnt think straight. Then he was knocked to the ground and away from Korra. Who was now sinking below the surface of the ice and water. "Eric! Shes sinking!" Aiden said in a calm panic, trying to quickly reach for her. At least he hadnt been trying to drown her but he was too far away to stop Korra from sinking below the surface.

While Eric was wrestling with Aiden, Daryn dashed into the room, his hands full of blanket which he tossed to the floor, reaching into the frigid water to grab Korra and pull her out. The blankets were soaked in seconds, but Daryn didn't hesitate, he merely wrapped her up in them and then hefted her bridal style to carry her out.

Eric wasn't budging from his hold on the captain. "You're in no position to be helping her, sir!" He told his superior officer. "At best you set her back a few weeks in recovery time, and at worst, you could have killed her! Did you not think about the effects placing an already hypothermic person in cold water would have?!"

Daryn hesitated as they approached their room. Should he run a hot water bath? Or would that be even more painful for Korra's cold skin? And at any rate, she would need to change her clothes again. "Hang on, Korra. We'll sort all this out."

Korra was much paler than before and an almost deathly white. Her lips were blue and her body was shivering violently from the cold. Managing to open her eyes, she looked up at Daryn and was barely concious at this point. Slowly, her eyes shut and she fell into that warm, darkness again. The only thing she could feel was cold.

Aiden stared up at Eric in shock that he would actually restrain and yell at his superior officer. When the first initial shock was over, he glared up at Eric. "She is my daughter. Therefore i will choose how to discipline her," he replied firmly and with finality. Honestly he hadnt been thinking when he dunked Korra into the ice and water. All he really knew is that he was so severly mad when she disrespected him that he wanted to make her afraid of him. It had been a wierd urge but he had followed through with it. Trying to throw Eric off of him, his age was starting to catch up to him at this moment. And the relization that what he did to Korra could have life-threatening affects.

Eric finally released his hold on the captain, figuring Aiden was starting to calm down some, and he didn't particularly want to be throw into the icy water if he could help it. He just hoped that Daryn had thought to lock the door to Korra's room. His sharp eyes were still fixated on the captain, however, ready to intervene if he must.

Daryn, meanwhile, kicked the door shut behind him and began to change Korra out of her wet clothes yet again. She was white and turning blue and that was not a good sign. "Oh, come on, Korra," he pleaded, "You've come this far, don't give up now." He grabbed the warmest clothes he could find to change her yet again before climbing in with her to the bed, kicking his shoes off at the last minute.

The sheets however didn't feel warm, and he shivered as he pressed himself against Korra. They needed more warmth. He grudgingly slipped out of the bed and ran the bath for hot water. Steam began to fill up the bathroom and fog the mirror. He hoped it would help, though he didn't see how. He shut the water off and then climbed back into bed with Korra, shivering a little and willing her to take his body heat.

Korra was begging for warmth in her unconcious state but couldnt find any. A familar voice was talking far off but she couldnt make out what it was saying. Desperatly looking for warmth, she wondered the darkness that she was in. Her body was so cold compared to everything else, almost ice cold but she wasnt dead so it wasnt.

Aiden got off the floor and started to make his way out of the bathroom, shoving Eric out of his way with his unknown strength. Then he walked out of his room and charged down the hall. No matter thatthe door was shut, he walked straight in and marched ove to the bed. Seeing Korra like that almost killed him right there but he quickly reached down to touch her cheek. It was almost ice cold beneath his touch and he wasnt paying any attention to anyone but Korra.

Daryn flinched as Aiden crashed into the room, but he wasn't going to let go of Korra now, nor anytime soon. He wouldn't let her go cold; he refused to. "Sir, if you could warm up some blankets, that would be great." His voice was soft, his eyes fixed only on Korra's blue-tinted lips as he breathed over them softly, trying to warm her up.

Eric followed at the same pace as Aiden, not wanting to be too late in case the captain tried to do something stupid. Or injurious to Korra.

But he relaxed when he saw that things were managing. "I'll go get some blankets now," Eric replied, taking off at the double.

At this rate, the night was going to pass quickly.
