Aiden snapped out of his trance and nodded. Pulling the thick blankets off the bed except for the covers that belonged there. Laying the blankets over the heater and anxiously waiting for them to heat up. When they did, he took them off quickly and put them over the covers already there. Straightening them out till they covered Korra and Daryn except for their heads. Then after a hesitating moment, he walked out of the room. Unable to see the aftermath of what he did to Korra, he ran a shaky hand through his thick, graying hair. Leanig on the wall outside of the room.
Korra's body was still shivering badly but not as violently as before. Her blonde hair was still soaking wet and ice cold to boot. Breathing uneven as she slept but none too peacefully. The numbness had left and now all she felt was cold, everywhere. Unable to escape the dark prison of her unconcious state.
And the night soon turned into early morning with Aiden taking off the blankets and warming them up then placing them back on the bed. Exhaustion was written all over his face and he was sure that Daryn as well as Eric were exhausted as well. But the recruits would be coming soon and so would Daryn's father. Aiden told Eric to go wait in the loading bay and when the recruits were all there to assign them right away to their jobs. Aiden soon left Daryn and Korra to go down as well but instead he waited on the docks for Daryn's father. It was misty out and the sun barely penetrated through it.

Daryn's shivering stopped as the warm blankets were added and gradually reheated periodically. He could feel Korra's body beginning to warm as well, which was a good sign, but she had a long road of recovery ahead of her still.
He tried her hair when he realized it was still wet, using one of the warm blankets to do so.
Eric noted Aiden's regret and while he didn't quite clasp the captain's shoulder he did mutter a few words of encouragement before passing to his own room to get ready for everything.
At last Eric stood on the loading bay doors, watching as the docks reopened and their new crew began to line up. He beamed as he welcomed them aboard, keeping a sharp eye open for pirates.
With morning dawning, Jason too woke from his sound sleep. Unlike everyone on the airship, he'd planned ahead and so as he sauntered his way carefully down his usual route, he kept track of who was following him. He would give the airship another hour to ready itself before taking off for it. For he knew as soon as he did, danger would rear its ugly head.

Korra slowly started to wake up and her eyes fluttered open. It was probably thirty minutes after Aiden and Eric had left to take care their duties. The sunlight made her recoil further into Daryn and squeeze her eyes shut, now used to the dark. Her color had come back to her face eventhough she did stay slightly paler then her usual fair shade but she looked ten times better than before. Breathing in Daryn's musky scent deeply, she buried her head further into his chest ad her throat ached so she didnt say anything. But it was easy to tell by her movements and breathing that she was awake.
Aiden sat out on the docks to wait for Jason. He said he wouldnt leave without him and he was telling the truth. Soon though he would have to get back on the ship and check that all the men were doing what they needed to. Also that the men ot assigned rooms in the ship. There were plenty to go around but Eric, Daryn, and Korra would be kept in the two rooms closest to himself.

Daryn stirred, having fallen asleep himself, when Korra buried her head into his chest. For a moment his arms around her tightened instinctively and then he was awake.
"Korra?" He could feel that she was warmer but she was too quiet. "How do you feel?"
Eric had done his job quite well, getting the men their jobs and handling all that needed to be done.
Jason skirted the shops as they opened for the day, and then as the foot traffic picked up, weaved his way deftly towards the docks. So long as no one spotted him...perhaps they had given up watching him?
But his hopes were cut short when he heard a shout and he glanced over his shoulder to find two armed men racing after him. Pirates or sailors, he didn't wait to find out. He sprinted for the docks, one bag hoisted over his shoulder. He hoped the ship had waited for him.

Korra blinked her eyes open and looked up at Daryn. "Well i feel the sunlight burning out my eyes.." she complained in a quiet voice. But a smile was brought to her face as she saw a sleepy looking Daryn. His hair dishelved and looking rather handsome, so she couldnt stop the smile that graced her lips. "You look handsome when your sleepy," she murmured. However, Korra was radiating a high heat but she felt desperately cold. A quick sign of a fever was thin sheet of sweat covering her skin but she couldnt tell.
Aiden stood up as he heard running feet headed his way. Seeing Jason, his mood lightened but the darkened as he saw the two armed men after him. Pulling out his hand gun, he ran over to Jason and urged him onto the ship. Taking a few shots at the men chasing after him. But Aiden got Jason to the ship and slammed his hand down on the loading ramp button. It started to close as Aiden quickly snapped at two new recruits to make sure those two men didnt get on board. Then he was quick to grab Jason's arm but not threateningly. Leading him upstairs and to the captain's quarters, he stopped at the door. Then motioned for Jason to go in, not telling him that Daryn was on the other side.

He frowned a little when she described that the light hurt her eyes, but there was little he could do about that. She radiated heat and when he gently touched her forehead to check for fever, found it damp. As for himself, he felt fine, though his nap had helped a little in keeping himself focused.
"You're pretty sick, Korra," he told her gently. "Are you hungry at all? Thirsty?" While the tea had long since grown cold, he could always make more.
Jason wasted no time in getting aboard the airship, even with Captain Aiden's help. "Thanks!" he yelled in passing as he ducked down the hallway of the ship to evade whatever incoming bullets might be heading his way.
There was some return fire, but the two pirates chasing Jason gave up the shooting once he was aboard the ship. They hurried off to tell their own leader what had happened, as Jason followed Aiden up the stairs to the captain's quarters.
He didn't bat an eye; he figured this was where Aiden was staying and that the captain probably wanted a huge explanation, so with a weary sigh, Jason entered.
And stopped short.

Korra frowned and looked at Daryn confused. "I just feel co-" she was cut off as she sat up and started coughing hard. It soon ended and she sat there wincing as she felt like she had coughed up a lung. "Actually..something warm would be nice.." she said quietly and put a hand to her head as a headache started to form. Then she noticed another presence and looked up, staring at an older and little different version of Daryn. "Daryn..i think someones here to see you," she said quietly to him and motioned to the man just barely inside the room. Then she was quick to lie back down and pretty much hide behind Daryn.
Aiden was quick to shut the door so he didnt have to bare another wave of guilt, seeing what he did to Korra. That and he didnt want Jason trying to escape the room before Daryn had a chance to see him. Softly whistling, he walked away and throughout the ship, making sure everyone was doing as told. Then he got the ship into taking off after slapping a young boy on the back of his head when he tried to argue.

Daryn frowned and was halfway ready to get the tea when Korra practically crawled over him to get behind him. He half-expected Eric to be standing there, except that it wasn't Eric.
Familiar brown hair, dark eyes, broad shoulders and Daryn felt his heart rate speed up. The room spun for a moment as he recognized his father.
"Dad?" His voice cracked.
Jason hesitated, then nodded. "Daryn...you've grown a lot." He saw the spark of anger in his son's eyes. "I'm sorry, Daryn. I never meant to hurt you or your mother or siblings. Trust me when I say it was out of my control."
"You left! Without a word! And only a crummy medal to replace you." Daryn reached into his pocket and found the medal which he hurled at his father.

Korra felt awkward now as Daryn yelled at his dad and his dad tried to defend himself. Hearing what his dad said, she slowly sat up and gently hugged Daryn from behind. "Daryn..calm down..let him explain..you can yell all you want afterwards..." she whispered in his ear soothingly, trying to get him to calm down. Though she did know why Daryn would want to yell at him, she was trying to help all three of them out a bit.
Korra looked up at Daryn's dad though, with a gentle, understanding smile. She tried to go unoticed by Daryn as she started to slip out of bed beside him. Wanting to leave those two alone for a bit while they talked. She could go to a different room. "Maybe you two should have some privacy.." she said quietly and put her feet down on the carpet.
Aiden was quick to go to the kitchen and give out orders for starting breakfast. Then he got them to start making four cups of tea and decided to check up on Eric. "How is everything running?" he asked once he found him.

Daryn calmed some when he felt Korra behind him, but only because he didn't want her to get worked up after her earlier ordeal.
He took a deep breath. "Sorry, Korra, I'll be calmer." He wasn't really but at least he was unarmed now. Never mind that the medallion was the last thing he had that he could throw.
Jason offered a small smile in return to Korra's, though his was more rueful than apologetic. "I'm afraid he has a right to be angry at me, but-" he fixed his eyes on Daryn sharply, "-that doesn't give you any right to throw things at me." He picked up the medallion and slipped it into his pocket. "I was afraid I'd lost this."
Eric meanwhile was shouting his own orders at his lackeys and trying to get them situated. Which was what Captain Aiden walked into when he found Eric trying to give orders and three men jumping to do the task where only one of them was required. He grinned ruefully at the captain.
"Well, they're eager to work, that's for sure," he commented, before realizing who he was talking to. He saluted sharply--drawing the other men into a salute as well. "Captain, what can I do for you?"

Korra got out of the bed and walked over to Daryn's father. Putting out her hand to shake his. "Im Korra, Mr. Keeble. Its good to finally meet you. Daryn is rather..proud your his father," she introduced then informed to him. Even if Daryn didnt want her telling him that, she thought he had a right to know.
Korra's hand was a bit colder than Jason's but she had a firm, strong grip. Though she tried not to show her eagerness about moving back and crawling back into the bed, wrapping the blankets firmly around her. "Daryn..maybe you want to talk to your father alone?" she asked and looked at him questioningly.
Aiden couldnt help the small smile that tugged at the corners of his lips. "I was just checking on how these new men were working out for you," he said seriously and looked at the others for a second before looking back to Eric. "Also, i want you to make an annoucment in thirty minutes that breakfast will be held and ready in the dining area. It is a requirement for them to ALL be there," he said.

Jason looked Korra over with sharp eyes; and then smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Korra." How many times had her father bragged about her to him? "But please, stay in bed. Don't let me interrupt your rest." He could see she was cold and unwell. He turned his gaze back to his son.
Daryn stood there silently, watching just as sharply. Never had those eyes seemed so familiar and yet so distant as they did then to Jason.
Daryn sighed and nodded to Korra. "If you're sure you'll be alright." He led the way to the door, his father following behind him. He shivered briefly. How strange to think he would never have seen his father again.
"They'll do fine, sir." Eric nodded and saluted smartly at the captain's orders; the rest of the men following suit. "Yes sir! Here that ye shipman? Food in thirty--now get yer jobs done to earn it!" The men hurriedly resumed their work.

Korra smiled at Jason then was happy to return to bed. She watched the two men stare at each other and she felt kinda awkward between the two just then. "I'll be fine," she replied to Daryn as he got up. As soon as they left, she laid down on the farthest side of the bed closest to the wall. Burying her head in a pillow, she closed her eyes as a thought ran through her head. I hope Daryn and his father can work it out.. she thought before falling asleep.
Aiden nodded to Eric before turning and leaving to go back to his room. Once he arrived there, he went in and shut the door. Taking a quick bath and straightening up before he combed his hair back into tidyness. Smoothing out his captain's vest, he left the bathroom and went to the dining room to see that everything was in order.

Daryn stopped just out in the hallway and turned, intending to round on his father with a sharp word or two--but he never got that far. Jason was quicker--collaring his son with one hand around the back of his neck and shoving him forward towards his room.
"Yell and I'll have no choice but to knock you out," Jason threatened. Daryn growled but didn't resist as they continued into Jason's room. The door was kicked shut behind them and then Jason shoved Daryn towards the bed--though Jason made no move to follow. He crossed his arms instead, looking very much like a captain. "Petty Officer 2nd Class, Daryn Keeble, what have you to say for yourself in getting into treasonous business because of a woman?"
Daryn narrowed his eyes. "That woman tried to steal our ship--I fought to get it back. And my shipmates turned me in for treason. I didn't intend to like her. Nor did I know who her father was until now." He looked away, embarrassed. This was not the type of talk he had been expecting to have with his father.
Jason nodded. "You just watch your tongue and mind your orders, then, Daryn and we shouldn't have a problem. Is that clear?"
"Shouldn't have a problem? You disappeared for years not letting me or mother or anyone else know what happened! You should be the one to mind your orders!"
"I did mind my orders!" said Jason. "That's what led me into getting captured by pirates in the first place. It wasn't until today that I found a way to escape them--for now. Daryn, I'm sorry. I know I left and if I had been able to, I would have sent much more than just a medal to you. But I couldn't and I knew how much you liked medals--"
"It was never the medals I liked," Daryn retorted and then swallowed thickly. "I just wanted you home." He passed a hand across his eyes briefly. "What do you want me to say? That I missed you? That everything's okay? Because the former is true. The latter isn't. And I'm sorry but a short explanation isn't going to help you."
Jason sighed. He could see they would be in for a long talk. "We have a breakfast meeting to attend, can we at least agree to be civil for that?"
Daryn hesitated and then reluctantly murmured, "Yes sir." Grudgingly he followed Jason out of the room towards the dining hall.

Aiden watched as all the new sailors joined him in the dining room. He waited for Daryn and Jason to enter before he left the dining room. Going down to Daryn and Korra's room, he opened the door and went in. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he gently shook Korra to wake her up. He had already set out a pair of shorts, half-shirt, and her bronze steel boots for her as well as her jacket even though it was very warm in the airship already. "Korra. Breakfast is ready. I set out some clothes for you and i would be very happy if you attend," he said gently.
Korra woke up to her dad shaking her but she didnt start moving till she heard his sigh. Then he got up and left the room, leaving her to herself. Getting out of bed, she stripped down then pulled on the new, warm clothes that her father had put over the heater to warm them up. Korra went into the bathroom and splashed some warm water on her face before fixing her hair to look presentable. Finally, after she was satisfied, she walked out of the room and straightened up so it would look like she was confident in what she was doing. The way she fixed her hair made her look radiant andbthe blue in her eyes really showed as she walked into the dining room.
Many sailors stopped talking and eating to look at the woman entering the room. Soon all the new sailor's eyes were on Korra as she walked over to her father.

Daryn and Jason arrived and settled down to their respective spots around the table. Daryn at the far end, Jason somewhere closer to where he assumed Aiden would be.
But Daryn knew someone was missing, and he fidgeted until Korra showed up; at which point he began to bristle at the way the other men were looking at her.
Eric caught his eye and smirked, but said and did nothing except to whistle sharply, catching the men's attention. "Boys, keep your eyes on your plate. I daresay our captain might take offense to the way some of you are eyeing his daughter."
At the mention of the captain, a few of the men seemed to deflate. Another few only looked more interested, while Daryn bit his tongue to keep from saying anything stupid. Korra could handle this.
Jason merely watched the proceedings in amusement. He wouldn't intervene unless Aiden asked him to.

Aiden beamed when Korra entered then stood as she came over and set a light kiss on her cheek. "Korra. This is our new crew," he said motioning to the men sitting at the table. "Crew, this is my daughter. Korra Sage. She is off-limits. One because i say so. Two because she is already taken," Aiden said to the crew loud enough for everyone to hear.
Korra gave them a breif smile as her eyes skimmed over everyone but stuck on Daryn. Her smile widened a bit and her eyes glimmered as she saw him. Then she asked Aiden if he would mind if she sat next to Daryn and the man sitting in her spot would sit next to Aiden.
Aiden thought for a moment then nodded his okay and let Korra walk down to the farther end of the table. As she came to a stop behind the man sitting next to Daryn, she motioned for him to move. "I would like to sit there. My father would be happy if you joined him up there," she said with a slight bit of authority. The man was quick to stand up, he was more of a shy one so he didnt argue or look at Korra as he quickly moved to sit near her father. Korra then took his seat and smiled at Daryn as she sat next to him.
Aiden looked at the chef standing near the kitchen doors and motioned for him to bring out breakfast. They started serving food and Korra was the first one to get hers. The young chef that brought it, winked at her and smiled. "Ladies first," he said as he put it down. Korra simply smiled and thanked him before eating.

Daryn flushed happily at Korra's entrance, but also at the mention of her being taken. Still, he beamed up at her when she came to sit next to him.
"Feeling okay?" he asked her softly as the chef came forward with her meal.
Eric studiously kept his gaze on those around him while Jason cast a brief look over the others who had gathered. It was a motley bunch to be sure, though when he caught Eric's eye briefly he knew there was a history between him and Daryn--and probably more than likely, Korra.
He cast a look at Aiden and flashed a brief smile. This was bound to be interesting.

Korra smiled and looked over at Daryn. "In feeling much better thank you," she said in a happier tone but still a quiet one. She was probably the first to finish dinner and she didnt really say much except answering an occasional question some of the crew members asked her. Or talking to Daryn here and there.
Towards the end of breakfast, Aiden stood and waited for everyone's attention. "I would like it to be known that what my daughter does on this ship is not to be questioned. She is a fine mechanic and will be working as one. So everyone is to stick to their jobs and leave Korra alone while she is doing hers. There will be severe consequences to those who do not follow this rule. 2nd class petty officer Daryn Keeble will be in charge of overseeing these punishments," he annouced, giving Daryn a great responsiblity since he was the one who had caught Korra's heart.
Korra beamed with happiness for Daryn to be given such a responsiblity. Looking at him lovingly as she showed her happiness.

Daryn ate quickly and quietly, trying to tell himself he was not nervous because of the sly looks the other men were giving (or not giving) him. But at the Captains orders, he felt himself flush. What would he do to anyone caught harassing Korra? He wanted to think he'd be fair, but he figured a few defenestrations might be in order. After all, tossing people out a window usually got the point across. Hopefully they wouldn't be in the air if this happened.
He did however glance across the table to see what Eric made of all this; he couldn't help it. Eric didn't even look down his way--not that that was reassuring at all. Maybe Eric would just pretend Korra never existed--it was the best he could hope for.
As for Jason, he tried not to grin at Daryn's obvious discomfort. The boy needed to grow up; he was quite surprised his son hadn't grown up sooner, though perhaps his disappearance had more to do with that than anything. Hm, well, he'd support his son while he could for now.
