Korra looked up at Daryn as she heard a slight proctective tone. "One of the men.. well nevermind.." she said dropping that part.
"Im fine besides the cut," she replied with a small smile.
Korra moved a little closer to Daryn but made no move to do anything. For some reason, she liked the tone of protectiveness in his voice. She had never had someone besides Kyro who cared that much.

Something must have happened; he surmised. He wasn't dumb; he knew his shipmates didn't have the best morals and he'd heard the tales of their wild shenanigans more than once. It was never something he had taken part in; he wanted that stellar career history, not a soiled background that would haunt him later.
He hesitated and then gently cupped her chin in his hand, lifting her face a little. "I can take care of that scratch for you; Kale and Jake were kind enough to bring me another med kit so we have supplies. Go sit down on the bed."
He went into the bathroom to wash his hands, ready to do his mini-doctoring. Frankly all it needed was a bandage, but it needed to be cleaned first; and there was that bit of her losing consciousness.

Korra blushed a little as he cupped her chin. Then as he left, she got up and sat down on the bed. Not being able to keep her blush under control was one of the things she hated. But she knew for a fact that she had feelings for him now.
Waiting, she thought of Daryn a bit and looked down at the bed cover. She ran her fingertip along a design on the bed cover.

He didnt take long, just a few moments of time to wash and scrub himself clean, before he returned to look at her cheek. He had brought a damp cloth with him, to clean the blood away.
"So," he said as he popped open the med kit and selected a simple bandage. "Do you normally make a habit of kicking strangers off of landing ramps? Or is that just a one-time thing of yours?"
He gently started to clean her bloodied cheek.

Korra smiled and looked into Daryn's eyes. "No im pretty sure its a one time thing," she replied. Then she didnt wait for him to stop cleaning before she leaned towards him. But instead of kissing him, she placed her gun back into his waistband.
"Since you seem to enjoy carrying it around," she whispered and smiled.
But she traded her gun for his pocket watch and slipped his watch into her back pocket.

He was thrown off guard by her leaning toward him; even more so when she reached down--to wedge her gun back into his pants. He had stopped trying to clean her face while she moved about and he missed her sleight of hand as he stole his pocket watch yet again.
When she finally stilled, he added the bandage. "There, you're good as new. As for your gun," his lips formed a small smile, "I know a good piece when I see one."
He reached down to draw it and then set it on the far end of the bed, leaving the muzzle of the gun pointed away from them. He then held his hand out to her, palm up as though expecting her to put something in his hand. "But I think you're more enamored by my pocket watch than anything else. Why do you keep stealing it?"

Korra's dissappointment clearly showed as she took it out of her back pocket. Placing it into his hand, her hand lingered in his for a second before she pulled it away. Her fingertips lightly brushed along his fingers before she moved her hand away.
"Im not sure but its really pretty," she replied with a smile. "Thank you," she added.
Korra stayed close to him and looked at his eyes. The ship lurched and it made Korra fall forward a bit, her lips landing on Daryn's. A blush spread like a wildfire across her cheeks and she lingered there for a moment before pulling away.
"I-Im sorry," she stammered at first.

His palm tingled as her fingers lingered against his hand. And it wasn't because the pocket watch was cold or warm. He was too distracted by the look on Korra's face. She seemed coy, and then she smiled and he was blinking at her, realizing that she really did have a lovely smile... What was wrong with him? He shouldn't be looking at her this way!
"Oh, thank you; it was a gift from my mother, right before I joined the airship service." No wonder he was protective of it!
But then the airship gave a lurch and they were suddenly closer than he realized. The feel of his lips against hers made him flush, but more than that, as they pulled away, his lips tingled. He licked his lips briefly, trying to dampen the tingling effect to no avail. And he found himself wanting to kiss her for real.
"Don't apologize," he murmured. "The airship does strange things when it finds slipstreams and thermals." He leaned forward a little, placing his hand on her arm. "Haven't you been on an airship before?"

Korra's heart beat fster and she felt like it would burst from her chest as he leaned closer. When he put his hand on her arm, she felt a small fire linger where he touched. Licking her lips briefly.
"Well..no.." she murmured at him being so close.
It was true that she had never been on an airship before. Korra had only ever rode Kyro to get everywhere and she usualy stayed far away from airships. She suddenly wanted to kiss him and a real kiss this time, yet she was too shy to do so.

He smiled softly, any lingering expression of wariness or suspicion gone. "Well then, I should give you a tour."
He saw her lick her lips and he moved his hand up her arm to her shoulder and then to the back of her neck. He paused to caress her for a moment, waiting to see if she would pull away, and then gently moved forward, pressing his lips to hers.
It was a soft kiss, gentle, and yet testing. As though he were unsure whether she would respond in kind. And then he pulled back a little, his heartbeat picking up in speed. He shouldn't be doing this, a little voice warned him. But he ignored it.
"Sorry," he said, sitting up a little. "I, ah, that was unprofessional of me." But that didn't mean he didn't like it; quite the opposite actually.

Korra froze for a second as he kissed her then she closed her eyes and relaxed. Kissing back, she put her hands on his chest lightly. She didnt pull away though and stayed close to him but moved back when he sat up straighter.
"A tour would be nice. Dont apologize..I liked it," she murmured and looked up at him.
Her lips felt like they were on fire from his touch. She wanted more but she refrained herself and sat back alittle.

With her hands pressed against his chest, he was almost sure she could feel his heart racing. His green eyes searched hers for a long moment, wondering if he should push his luck, and then the moment passed and he swallowed hard. Now was not the time to do something he might regret later.
"Right, the tour." He offered a wry smile, as he hopped off the bed and then offered his hand to her. Screw common sense, he just wanted to see her smile again and he knew just the place to take her on the ship.

Korra took his hand and stood up. Steel and Clockwork was a pretty big ship so she was happy to get a tour but more so that Daryn was the one giving it to her. She took her gun before they left and holstered it. Never know what could happen and she might need it.
Korra wondered though what more there could be on this ship besides a loading dock and more rooms for guests. Right and also, who was driving the ship if Daryn wasnt.
"Who is gonna drive the ship if you dont?" she asked.

He smiled as she took his hand. "Ah, well, I've secured the wheel for the time being. As long as we don't hit any particularly strong air currents, we'll continue to fly in this particular direction."
He frowned slightly as she holstered her gun. "I might advise you not to shoot if you can help it. The ship is run on helium which is highly explosive. Besides that, this ship has more secrets than a cat. And its far friendlier than one too." He rubbed his hand with the scar and then headed for the hallway.
"I guess you've already seen the engine room, as well as control room and captains quarters. Have you been to the cargo area yet?"

Korra shrugged when he said not to fire the gun and followed him. "I know these skies better than you do mister second class. I will tell you that i will need this at some point doing this trip as these skies are infested with pirates who kill crews and use women as their dogs. Why do you think im a pirate? Certainly because i wasnt raised that way," she said.
"I do believe that the cargo area is where you entered here and i shoved you CO, ship mates, and your captain off the ship," Korra replied.
Suddenly, the power shut down and the red emergency lights came on. Korra didnt wait a second before she ran back into the captains quarters and grabbed her tools. Running back out, she brushed past Daryn and ran towards the engine room. Then she suddenly was lifted into the air a good foot or so before falling back to the floor from the ship's movement. They were literally falling from the sky and towards the wastelands below all terras.
Scrambling back up, she ran as fast as she could to the engine room. Reaching it, she saw the leak she had fixed earlier was flooding now. Jake had undone her job purposly and now the engine room was flooded with hot water. It was over heating the engines causing them to fail. Korra slid underneath the machine and got to work on the flooding issue. She was soaked to the bone in seconds but at least she wasnt cold. Her heart felt like it would rip free from her chest as she worked to get the ship floating at least.

He froze at the mention of pirates. "The skies are? Then what the heck are we frolicking amongst the rigging for?"
Of course just after he said that the ship pitched and the lights went out. "Ah curses. Take care of the engine, I'll get the control room." Gone was his earlier laid back personality as once again he fought to restabilize his ship.
He pressed buttons, spun dials, and worked on releasing small bits of helium to keep the ship balanced. And then a new alarm sounded. "Aw, now what?"
He peered into the distance but saw nothing. Whatever the ship had sensed, it was drawing closer, he just couldn't tell from what direction. He'd have to go up on the rigging.
He returned briefly to the captains quarters before remembering his duffel bag with his rifle in it was sitting several hundred miles away on the ground. He went to his CO's room and scavenged for a weapon--finding the secondary rifle stashed in a closet. "Excellent." And then ran to the engine room to check on Korra.

Korra was struggling to fix up the leak as her tools kept sliding around in the water. Though finally, she welded the metal back together after patching up the leak. The ship suddenly jolted as it stopped falling and stayed in one spot floating. As the ship jolted, Korra hit her head on a pipe and cursed loudly.
The new alarm was something she couldnt hear from the engine room. Rubbing her head, she got up and sloshed through the water over to the engines. Leaning over one of them, she hit a button that started the engine again. Slowly, the lights returned and the ship started floating back up to the altitude they had been before.

Daryn lost his footing when the ship began to climb up to its original altitude. They were lucky they'd avoided a crash landing. There was no way he could patch up such a ship himself; let alone explain to the captain what had happened and why his ship was lost.
"Korra? Korra!" He swung into the engine room with a splash and stopped short. "Why is it wet in here? I need to go up to the rigging, the ship's sensing some sort of incoming aircraft. Are you okay here?"

Korra rubbed the back of her head then nodded. "Yea im fine. A pipe burst but dont worry i fixed it," she said proudly and grinned.
Then she set her tools on a nearby machine and walked over to Daryn. "I'll come with you. Im all done here so i can do something else," she offered.
Then she brushed past him and out the door. "Like steering, because the ship is now back into working condition," she said and ran towards the control room.
Reaching it, she grabbed onto the wheel and quickly turned to the left as they were about to hit the side of a terra.

He let her past him. "Be careful," he told her, and then hurried towards a set of stairs that curled upwards.
A few minutes later, he threw open a hatch and felt the gust of wind that came over the top of the ship. He ducked back down out of the wind and grabbed a pair of goggles that were hung there for ease. Sliding them on, he peered out of the hatch and looked around for the threats. If they were above the ship, he would be able to see them.
If they were below, he would be out of luck unless he scaled the siding to peer over the bowed sides of the ship.
The rifle, of course, was in his hand, loaded and ready to fire.
