Korra looked at the front window as a shadow engulfed the room she was in. A ship bigger than their own, was passing over them adn from the looks of it they were definitly pirates. She cursed and took out her gun, turning on her heel after setting auto pilot she ran towards the captains quarters. She would need more than her gun for this but before she could get there, something grabbed her shirt and tossed her to the floor. Landing with a thud, she coughed and paled as she heard mens laughter.
"Well looky here boys. This girl thinks she can pilot a ship herself. Well maybe she can defend it herself as well," a pirate with one silver, steel leg said with a laugh.
Korra growled and kicked his human leg, crushing his knee bone with her steel boot. He let out a pained yell and fired at her with his hand gun. Missing when she jumped aside but he took down one of his own men. Looking around her, there were at least ten or fifteen. Her luck had run out on her and she was screwed but they werent taking her without a fight.
Pirates were sliding down from the ship above on steel ropes. They were landing on top of Steel and Clockwork then heading towards Daryn with menacing grins. Shots were fired within the ship and the other pirates were prying open the loading ramp.
Korra ran down the hall, a whole group of pirates on her tail. She had to get to the loading bay to hold them off otherwise they would be swamped. Reaching the loading bay, she came to a dead end fifty feet above it on a metal walkway. Turning, the blood drained from her face as she saw many more than before. They werent just looking at her like a nuisance either. They looked at her lustfully and hungrily. Backing up till she hit the rail, she looked around for some way off the walkway.

Daryn saw them coming and picked off two, before realizing that this was a lost cause. There was no way two people could keep just this many in front of him from seizing the ship. He retreated, closing the hatch above him and wedging the hatch shut with his rifle. There were still five other hatches around the ship's top so it wasn't like he could stop there. He stampeded down the stairs, taking them two or three at a time, before hearing the ominous sounds of gunfire.
"Crap, crap, crap!" he muttered to himself as he jumped down to the level of the control floor. He would need another gun, but he didn't have anything. He backtracked and headed down to the cargo area of the ship. Maybe he could find something to help them. But where was Korra in all this?
He could only hope she was okay until he could gather his supplies. He found them, sure enough, but the ricochet of a bullet next to him made him stop short. Stampeding after him was another group of pirates.
He ducked and sprinted for the supplies. If he could find something to drive them off, he'd be good. But all he could find was food and clothing and finally--smoke bombs.
He threw three of them, pocketing as many as he could carry. And then drew his knife-gun and proceeded to make his way to the control room.

Korra shot off all her rounds of bullets, taking down four or five but that proceeded to make the pirates angrier and they charged. Holstering her gun, she climbed onto the rail and jumped off falling fifty feet to the floor below. At the last second, she grabbed hold of a steel rope hanging from the ceiling. She winced and gritted her teeth as her shoulder jerked, almost dislocating her shoulder.
The pirates above started yelling and there was one in particular giving out orders. Slowly, she slid down the rope and onto the loading bay floor. As soon as she reached it, guns were going off and ricocheting off the floor around her. Korra dove behind a box and kept her head down waiting for them to reload or stop firing. A second of pause gave her the time she needed to run for the loading ramp where pirates were squeezing through a small opening in the top.
Korra hit the button to open the ramp and it squeaked loudly before opening, hitting the small aircraft below them and shaking off the pirates on the ramp. A bullet whizzed past her head by a centimeter and she cried out in surprise. Hitting the ramp door again, she ran for the stairs leading out of the loading bay.

Daryn was slowly making his way up towards the front of the ship when he heard more feet coming towards him--both in front of him and behind. He looked around for an exit and realized that he had only one real chance to get the pirates to leave them alone. But it would be risky and might leave him dead.
He flinched as someone dashed around the corner and he was nearly ready to shoot, before recognizing Korra. "Korra! Over here!" He called to her and released a smoke bomb in both directions of the hallway. Hopefully it would buy them some time.
"How many are there?" And given that she was no longer in the control room, meant the pirates probably had control of their ship too. He was not a happy sailor.

Korra ran over to Daryn and was breathing heavily. "I..just took care.. of them getting in..so we only have the ones inside left," she breathed out.
Holding her shoulder, she looked back and forth before opening a door in front of them. It was a small closeet but it was better than nothing.
Grabbing Daryn's sleeve, she pulled him inside with her then shut ther door quietly. Daryn and Korra were squished together as she leaned against the door. Outside of the door, the pirats were yelling and arguing then a deep voice came into it.
"Find them you dogs! Its only one stupid girl and a man!" he yelled at them and the pirates running steps could be heard as they left that hall.
Korra relaxed slightly and looked at Daryn. "Im out of ammo and i need to get back to the captains quarters," she whispered.
Korra's and Daryn's bodies were firmly preassed against each other from the small size of the closet. The faces a centimeter or two apart.
"Im sorry i left the control room Daryn," she whispered knowing that upset him that they had control of the ship.

He had no choice but to follow her into the cramped confines of the closet. And as their bodies were practically flush, he suddenly had a whole lot of other stuff on his mind besides the being overtaken by pirates.
He bit his lip and tried not to move too much as the pirates ran past them. At her whisper he nodded. "You know what kind of calibre you need for that?" he whispered back, pointing at her gun and accidentally poking her instead. "Ah, sorry, I meant your gun." He withdrew his hand.
"No, it's alright. You had no choice. I was driven back from the top hatchet." He hesitated briefly. "I can draw them away from you, if you need to get back to the captains quarters. Give me a two minutes' headstart and then keep to the left of the ship. You should be able to reach captains quarters without too many problems."
He reached down to the revolver holstered at his side, clumsily bumping and twitching into Korra as he did so. At one point, their lips came narrowly close to touching, though he pulled back at the last minute and after a feeble moment of searching for her hand in the dark, placed his revolver into it.
"Take this. I want it back at some point." With that settled, he shifted so that he was closer to the door. "Give me two minutes." He said, and kissed her briefly, before opening the door and closing it behind him.
"Yo! Scurvy pirates have terrible manners and even worse breath!" he yelled and then sprinted for the nearest exit.

"I have ammo in my rucksack," She replied to his caliber question
Holding onto his gun, she smiled when he said he wanted it back at some point. "You'll get it back eventually," she whispered.
Korra blushed madly when he kissed her briefly and smiled after he left. Listening closely, she rolled her eyes at what he said then waited for the pounding footsteps to die away before slipping from the closet. She took off in the opposite direction and turned the corner only to run into another pirate. He laughed and grabbed her shoulder, pinning her to the wall. He put his gun to her head only to keep her still as he kissed her cheek.
With a disgusted growl, she pulled the trigger to Daryn's gun and the pirate fell to the ground dead. Korra ran down the hall and sighed with relief as she saw the captains quarters. Slipping inside, she took a quick look around before someone grabbed her from behind and put his arm around her neck choking her. The pirate captain slammed the door shut and tore the gun from her hand, then lifted her off the ground since he was considerabaly taller than herself.
Korra coughed and put her hands on his huge burly arm, trieing to squirm out of his grasp. Soon her vision went black and she was no longer fighting. The captain tied her up and took her to the control room. Where he waited for Daryn, a gun to Korra's head.

He only sprinted far enough to give Korra time to slip out of the closet, before deciding to surrender. He had no idea just how spectacularly his plan was going to fail.
Gunshots ricocheted around him and one caught him in the leg. He tripped over nothing as searing pain weakened his muscle briefly and he stumbled to fall forward on his hands. He yelped in pain.
"Alright! Alright! I surrender! I surrender." He lay prone on the ground, grimacing in pain as several guns were cocked and aimed at him. He closed his eyes, hoping he wasn't about to be killed here and now. What a fat lot of good he was! Then again, he had gone and gotten himself captured by a girl pirate already. Way to go, Daryn, he congratulated himself. "I wanna see your captain. I have something to tell him."
There was some discussion followed by a brief argument of whether or not to kill him, before someone returned with rope and a moment later his arms were wrenched up behind his back and tied. His ankles were too, and he grimaced in pain as the knots were cinched tightly. He had the feeling he had made a big mistake.
But then he was dragged to his feet and he was left to hobble painfully towards the control room where he figured the captain was. He had no idea that Korra had also been caught.

Korra woke up feeling something cold and hard to the side of her head. Her head was pounding and she was vaguely aware she couldnt hear anything. She saw everything clearly but she couldnt hear as the captain gave orders to one of his men and as he whispered something in her ear.
Squirming, she realized she had been tied but poorly so. Wrenching her hands free of their bond, the captain had made a mistake of not tieing her feet together as well but Korra's head was swimming as she made for the doorway. Only to be tripped and dragged back into the room, it infruriated her that she couldnt hear. How was she supposed to fight without being able to hear other peoples movements?
The captain jerked her up and off the ground before opening one of the large windows. He stuck Korra out and she dangled over the clouds, her heart dropping like a stone into her stomach. Gripping his wrist hard and digging in her nails, she churned her feet in the air. Looking up, she saw them bring Daryn back in ropes and saw his leg bleeding.
They had shot him! How dare they! Korra was as pissed as hell but couldnt do anything to the captain since he was the only thing keeping her from falling many thousands of feet into the wastelands. She saw the captain laugh but couldnt hear it.

Daryn limped into the room to find an unbelievable sight. What the hell was the captain doing to Korra?!
Bound as he was, the idiot pirates hadn't thought to check him for weapons, so he drew his knife-gun and in a quick jerk, sliced through his ropes. Another expert twist of the knife, and his ankles were free, and then he was launching himself at the captain.
"Don't you dare drop her!" he roared, tackling the captain and trying to drag Korra back into the ship.

Korra cried out in fear as the captain's grip slipped but then it tightened again. Slowly her hearing started to come back and she heard the captain laughing. The captain kicked Daryn's leg where hed had been shot then tossed him aside.
"Hear my proposition sir before you go attacking me," the captain said. "Either you give us the ship and everything on it, including the stuff from your pockets or the girl goes falling through the clouds," he added.
Korra scraped her nails down the captains arm in order to get a better grip and not fall. "Dont do it Daryn!" she yelled from outside.
The captain let go barely before tightening his grip again. Korra slipped farther down and squeezed her eyes shut.

Daryn cried out in pain as his injured leg was kicked; it buckled under him, sending him sprawling.
He only barely pushed himself upright when the captain gave his demand, and Daryn felt the last of his resolve cave. The ship wasn't his; it never had been in the first place. It was home to him, had been for five years, but it was just a vessel. The men whom he had sailed the thermals with had been more like a family than the one he'd had at home. But it still hurt; this ship held memories for him.
He closed his eyes briefly, saying his farewell to the ship--like it was a fallen comrade.
When he opened his eyes again there was a no-nonsense look to them. "Fine. The ship is yours." If the captain so much as loosed Korra however, the captain would have a dagger in his chest.

The captain grinned and pulled Korra back inside, throwing her into Daryn. Korra was up in a flash after bowling Daryn over. She ran at the captain full speed, knocking him out of the open window as she rocketed into him.
The captain yelled in surprise and grabbed Korra's shirt as he fell out of the window. Korra was lifted off of the ship's floor and pulled out the window before the captain let go. He fell through the clouds but Korra managed to twist her body to where she grabbed a hold of the windows sill.
Korra cried out in pain as her shoulder was wrenched again, almost letting go. A couple of pirates ran into the room as they heard theyre captain yell. When they saw him go over, they fled the room and spread the news quickly. Th epirates fled through the top hatch and back onto their ship.

He stumbled back as Korra was flung into him, before he saw her attack the pirate captain. And then he saw her tumble out the window...
"Korra!" He lunged forward, ignoring the pain of his leg as he grabbed her arms. "Come on!" He hauled her back in through the window before his leg really did buckle and they landed on the floor in a heap.
He moaned softly. "Next time I decide to be heroic, talk me out of it?" So far his "good deeds" had done nothing but get him into trouble.

Korra was still holding onto him tightly as they landed on the floor in a heap. Breathing heavily, she looked up at the ceiling and was focusing on stopping her head from reeling. Then she struggled up and crawled down to his injured leg. Cutting his pant leg in half with his gun-knife, she inspected it gently.
Then she got up and helped him to his feet, putting his arm around her shoulders. She helped him back to the captain's room and laid him on the bed gently.
"Give me one second," she said before dashing into the bathroom.
Washing her hands, she dried them then grabbed the first aid kit and unlocked the gears. Sitting down next to his leg, she took some tweezers and looked up at him.
"Your going to have to brace yourself for this," she said before digging around in the wound for the bullet. Which she found and pulled out, dropping it into the med kit. Then she cleaned the wound gently and wrapped it tightly.

He groaned when she cut the fabric of his uniform. "Did you have to do that?" he complained, because now he was going to have to buy a new set...or borrow someone's. At least they were still on the ship; he could probably find an extra pair of pants.
And then Korra was helping him up into standing and he hobbled painfully back to the captain's room, which thankfully wasn't all that far.
He collapsed onto the bed with a sigh--just in time to hear Korra tell him she'll be back and he heard water running. He knew what was coming next. The bullet had to come out. He grimaced wishing he had a flask of something strong to dull the pain, but he didn't find anything.
With a grimace, he stuffed part of the pillow between his teeth and then wrapped his hands in the downy pillow. The pain was excruciating and even though he lay still, he couldn't help the groans of pain that digging around in the wound elicited. He was almost sure he had passed out, before he felt something cinch around his leg. He felt numb after the excruciating pain. His leg was one giant flame and he was sweating from the pain. His chest heaved and his eyes were glassy from unshed tears. He spat the pillow out and sagged back into the mattress.
"That hurt," he choked out, trying to wipe his face with his sleeve. "Remind me never to get shot again."

Korra managed a smile and layed on her stomach next to him. "I'll do that.." she said quietly.
Her shoulder was throbbing and she reluctantly got off the captains bed. Going into the bathroom, she ran hot water for a bath then walked back into the room.
"Okay. In you go," she ordered gently and pointed to the bathroom where bathtub water could be head running. Though she winced and quickly put her arm back down as her shoulder screamed in an aching protest. Taking off her steel boots, she sat on the bed with a sigh and put her head in her hands.

Daryn had thought the worst was over and he was almost starting to relax a little with Korra next to him when she moved and began to run bath water.
"What? No! I'm not...that'll hurt like hell!" Sorry, Korra, but he wasn't going to budge for the moment. And then he noticed her favoring her shoulder.
"What's wrong with your shoulder? Did you get shot too?" He would reach for her, but he really can't do more than sit up without fiery tendrils of pain lancing through his leg. "Let me see it." He knew a fair bit about shoulder injuries, having sprained his own shoulders in the past before building up enough strength to support himself in the rigging.

Korra frowned at his protest then sighed. "Fine. Dont. But i am," she replied.
Sitting up however, she crawled over to Daryn and sat in front of him. "I just wrenched it twice. Thats all," she said quietly but sat next to him so he could see.
Korra was more used to breaking something or bing shot then just having a plain ol sprain. Everything her and Kyro did was dnagerous so she was used to serious injuries.

He grunted and then gently felt her shoulder with his fingertips. They were gentle but firm, as he poked and prodded a little. He lifted her arm a bit and then poked and prodded a bit more, taking note of when she winced.
"It's inflamed, but not broken. Most likely a sprain and a partial dislocation. Good news, you shoulder is still in its socket; bad news, it'll probably hurt for a few days. A hot bath is exactly what you need." And so saying, he looked down at his injured leg.
"Actually, when you're done, if you could grab me a few cloths and a bowl of water, I'll, uh, clean up my leg some." He'd bled all down his pant leg into his boot. That was going to be fun.
