Korra looked over as the door swung open then gasped in surprise, looking away with a wildfire blush covering her cheeks. She had forgotten about clothes for him but she hadnt expected him to walk out like that.
Her wound was poorly wrapped yet it sufficed for the moment. "My shoulder feels better. What about your leg?" Korra asked.
Hesitantly, she looked over at him then let out a breath she didnt kniw she was holding when she saw him clothed. Daryn actually looked quite handsome in the captains clothing and she smiled after checking him out.

Being an airshipman, he hadn't had a second thought about stepping out with just a towel; to him it was just run of the mill. But he did try to hurry up when he heard her gasp.
Still, he smiled when he saw her checking him out. "My leg's a little better," he said, plopping down on the far edge of the bed, and rolling back his pant leg. He grabbed another wad of gauze, grateful they had another med kit available. Between the two of them, the gauze would quickly be depleted.
The wound had clotted, thankfully as he wrapped his leg again. "We should be arriving sometime tomorrow," he said, once he finished tucking the free end of the gauze into itself.
He leaned back with a sigh. "I never thought I'd say this, but I'm looking forward to solid ground again."

Korra smiled and sat up as he sat down. "Thats good," she replied. Then as he layed back, she crawled over to him careful of her injured shoulder though. Laying on her stomach next to him, she looked over at him.
"Whats our plan in all of this? I know for a sure fact that the auction is tommorow. I could find Kyro's cage and pick lock it. But i'll need a distraction, something to keep the gaurds away," she said and looked to Daryn.
"Why are you looking forward to solid ground?" she asked curiously. Kicking her feet in the air slowly, she thought about why an airship man like himself would want to be on the ground.
Korra then remembered promising to help him find his father and the most likely places would probably be on a terra. Which was solid ground in itself, well floating solid ground anyway.

He looked at her back, his breath catching briefly at her closeness. However, needing to come up with a plan took precedence.
"I can make a distraction, that shouldn't be too hard. Once you get Kyro though, what will you do? Where will you go?" If Korra was successful, he planned that she would take off with Kyro. Which meant they'd have to find a rendezvous point.
"Also, we probably shouldn't plan on keeping the Steel and Clockwork. It'll be confiscated the moment we land. As for why I'm looking forward to being grounded...it'll be nice to have a surface that doesn't lurch every so often." And he could also start asking questions about his father.

Korra smiled then got up and leaned over im. "Do you really think i'll leave you behind to take care of all those people yoursel?" she asked quietly then leaned down and kissed him gently.
Korra planned to ride Kyro out of there and swoop down to grab Daryn on their way out. She would never leave him behind. Besides that Kyro was a pretty big dragon so it would scare everyone away from Daryn.

His breath caught and his eyes darkened when she leaned over him. "It wouldn't be the first time I've been in terrible odds." And then her kiss wiped out whatever worries he might have had. His hand moved over her arm, sliding up to her shoulder where he stopped carefully short of the bandage.
He broke the kiss unwillingly, and pulled away to look at her, though his hand lingered still on her arm. "Where will we end up after we steal back your dragon? We probably shouldn't linger too long in port. They'll be looking for us."

Korra layed down a bit so that she was still over him and yet not fully laying her upper body on his chest. Her shoulder was giving out on her and she had to rest it so she was almost relieved when the kiss ended except that her lips were burning for more.
"Kyro is strong. He will take us to the next terra over. There i can get us food and especially Kyro. I know they havent been feeding him well and i have to make up for it. Like it or not Daryn, your one of us now. Im sorry i couldnt get you out of it," she whispered the last part and put her forehead on his chest. Heaving a sigh, she squeezed her eyes shut and gripped the covers. She shouldve followed through with her plan at the docks, she couldve gotten him out of it all.

He studied her intently, trying to give her a little stability by moving his hand to her side as she seemed to favor her shoulder.
But her comment concerned him a little. "So we'll be riding a dragon to the next terra." His lips twitched wryly even if Korra did mention that he was now one of her. He shook his head a little. "I'm not a pirate, Korra. I will never be a pirate. I just might not be an airshipman right now, but I won't turn outlaw. I refuse to turn outlaw."
His heart raced with his refusal, which Korra would surely feel through their closeness. "I'm still not giving up finding my father and showing he's not a traitor. So I can't afford to be a pirate."
But it didn't matter what he thought he was, because his crew would decide what he was whether he was there to defend himself or not. At least he had outstanding reviews from his promotion to Petty Officer, but those would easily be forgotten in lieu of his apparent desertion. He shivered at the idea.

Korra didnt say anything but moved away from him silently. "Your right. Im sorry. You arent a pirate. Your a 2nd class petty officer of this ship," she replied quietly and looked at him with a small smile.
"Gotta find your dad after this. I promise i'll do what i can to help. But for now i think im going to get some sleep," she added quietly then crawled back under the covers.
Pulling the covers up to her neck, she buried her face in a pillow. They would save Kyro and she would help him find his father. Then what? Korra couldnt predict what would happen next but she knew she didnt want to leave Daryn.
Then sitting up, she looked at Daryn. "Can you come lay with me?" she asked a little shyly.

Daryn hadn't meant to put her at odds with him, but he really couldn't afford to turn pirate. He sighed. "Korra, haven't you ever considered what it might be like not to steal or pillage?"
But when she drew the covers over her face, he knew he'd probably lost her for the night. He felt bad; he hadn't meant to hurt her feelings but he was conflicted and anxious for what the morning would bring. They were, after all, bringing in a stolen airship.
"Please, God, let this work out," he murmured before closing his eyes.

Korra got up early in the morning and threw on her blue shirt and tight black short shorts. Gently, she kissed Daryn's forehead but tried not to wake him up in the process. Then she strapped on her thigh holster and holstered her gun. Today was the day and she wouldnt dare to leave with Kyro or Daryn.
Pulling out Daryn's revolver, she re-loaded it then set it beside him. Walking out of the room, she quickly made her way to the control room and looked out the window. Yes, this was the place. Ahead, she saw many airships docked around a terra and could already hear them auctioning off stuff. Daryn and herself probably had twenty minutes at most to get Kyro out. This was going to be a tough job but she could handle it. Though she had her worries about Daryn's leg.

He woke just as Korra stepped out of the captain's room and got to work on readying himself for the day's excitement. He knew he'd have to take some care with his leg injury, but at least it was starting to heal.
He grabbed his revolver and checked it, finding it loaded already. "Thank you, Korra," he said softly, even though she had left already. He then grabbed the cane and looked it over. His thumb rubbed against a sudden gear switch he hadn't noticed before, and pressing it, the cane separated into two parts. Drawing the "top" portion of it, he realized it was a blade sheathed inside the cane.
He quickly clicked the two portions together. Perhaps this would work after all. If only he could run. Well, maybe he could avoid running if he played it smart.
He met up with Korra in the control room, hauling with him two ration boxes. "Here, eat, you're going to need some energy for today." He held one of the boxes towards her, as he peered through the windows and grimaced. A large group would be forming shortly, and if they were going to escape, they'd need to descend quickly.
"We're going to have to land just behind the auction house," he said after a moment, drawing his plan together. "Then you can sneak in the back way to find Kyro and I can circle around to provide a distraction. Will that work?"
There was another way to do this, but he wasn't sure how good Korra would be with heights.

Korra was surprised to see him up so early but she took the ration box gratefully. She quickly ate her fill then threw on her rucksack. "You sure there isnt another way?" she asked, inspecting him over.
Daryn was using that cane alot so it made her worry. Maybe he shouldnt do this with her and she should do it on her own.
"You sure you can do this? I dont want you hurt Daryn," she said worry as clear as day in her tone.
Going over her mental supply check list, she brought the airship around and over the terra. Slowly it approached the auction house. Looking down, Korra started to feel light headed at how many people were there. She could see hundreds of people gathered around Kyro's cage. Some poked and prodded inside the cage but the roof was covered so she couldnt see Kyro's reaction.

He hesitated, but not for the reason she might think. "What I can do, if you're not afraid of heights, is lower you by rope near the auction house. Then I'll land the airship not far from here. It'll buy you time and distract the other soldiers." And by 'land', he meant 'crash'.
He saw her looking at the cane. "I'll be fine, Korra. It's you I'm worried about. If they catch you in the auction house..." he didn't finish that train of thought. "I just need to stay one step ahead of them; just work on getting Kyro out soon as possible. Crashing the airship will buy you time." Oops, he hadn't meant to let that slip.

Korra looked at Daryn and thought about his second plan. "I think we should go with the second plan. It might work better," she said thoughtfully.
When he said crash, she instantly whipped back around to him in surprise. "No! We are sticking with the first one! What if you get injured? I couldnt bear to see you get seriously or even..." Korra trailed off and looked to the floor. The thought already dampening her spirits. Then she hugged him around the abdomen tightly and put her head to his chest.
"No we are sticking with the first. And i swear i wont leave you behind to deal with them," she murmured.

"We can't do the first plan," Daryn said, holding her close. "We have to do the second or you won't have time to get to Kyro. And it's the only way I can cover so much distance fast enough to cause a distraction. If you're caught with me, it'll be a bigger disaster."
He hugged her tightly. "I'll be safe. I won't get hurt. I promise." Extracting himself from her hold, he adjusts their course a little so they can swing around the auction house.
"Port side, we'll drop you off port side. There should be ample rope and carabiners in the storage compartment just in the hallway. "You can pick me up when you get Kyro free. I'll try to head for higher ground once I'm clear."

Korra paused before leaving and looked back at him. Then she walked back over and kissed him hard and deep.
"Dont forget you promised," she whispered.
Then she pulled away reluctantly and ran from the control room. Finding the closet, she opened it and grabbed the ropes and rigging. Running to the port side, she opened a door that led to the outside. Setting up everything, she waited until they were a few feet from the back of the building before jumping off. Sliding down the rope, she landed on the ground with a thud and staggered a second before regaining her composure.
Pulling the hood to her cloak up, which she had put on before the jump. She pushed through the crowd and headed towards a twelve by ten cage.
"Kyro?" she called softly.
Kyro recognized her and bent his neck down towards her. He stuck his huge tongue through the bars and licked her cheek surprisingly gently. She smiled and waited for the distraction.
"Please...be safe," she whispered quietly and looked to the ship.

He'd waited a few minutes to make sure she was clear before turning the wheel and angling the airship away from where the guards were beginning to gather. And now the fun part, he thought, as he twisted several gears to bring the airship in for a landing.
In so doing, he actually released the waste hold area, which would cause anyone approaching to stumble back. Of course, this also gave him buoyancy, which he had to counter by...sending the airship into a nose dive.
He looked for something to hold onto and then grabbed the wheel. The large airship impacted hard, sending a tremor through the ground as it buckled. The giant glass windows in front of him cracked and shattered, but he had taken precautions by burying his head into his arm.
At last the airship stopped moving and he knew his window would be quite short. He ran for the shattered windows where green grass was waiting, thankful for the cane as he scooped glass away from him.
At last he scrambled out of the airship, no worse for the wear, and high-tailed it for safety. Or better yet...the crowds where he could slip in unnoticed and make his way to higher ground.

Korra watched the crash and quickly took out her tools. Starting on the lock, she got it open in record time and fell back as Kyro quickly leapt free. Kyro was twelve feet tall and fourteen from nose to tailtip.
Kyro put his wing out on the ground for Koora and she climbed abord. "Kyro we need to pick up Daryn!" she yelled over the wind as Kyro opened his wings and took off. His wings were sixteen feet from one wings tip to the other. Kyro roared and people screamed runming for their lives. Korra pointed Daryn out and Kyro dived. Gently, Kyro hooked Daryn up in his clawed foot but was careful not to dig his claws into him.

He'd expected Korra to find him, but damn that was fast! He was only starting to tire when he heard the roar and saw the dragon coming. A small yelp escaped him, as a clawed talon worked its way around him and lifted him up.
He clung tightly to whatever he was able to, trying not to disgrace himself with another yell. Though one would escape him anyway whenever they would land.
