"If we do go out looking for him, I don't know if we should all go together," Blair said with a grimace. "If we do, he might know something's going on."

"We can't let you go alone." Nori told her. "It's way too dangerous."

"Of course," She agreed, "I'm not saying I should go alone, but...it would probably be best if you two stayed out of his sight."

She nodded. "Of course we'll stay hidden, we're not gonna show ourselves off to him."

"We'll keep our distance, but we'll keep our eyes on you," he pondered his words for a moment, "and our ears... and noses. Generally, we'll just keep on the lookout. We won't let him hurt you."

Nori suddenly went rigid then. "You aren't gonna have to go far to find him." She told Blair. "Just caught his scent."

Blair inhaled sharply. "Alright. Everyone keep on your toes, get ready to jump in at any time. Let's...let's meet him halfway then?" She asked weakly, a halfhearted smile on her lips. With that, she pushed herself off the couch, back onto her feet.

Nori gave a short nod, focusing. "...His scent's weak still, but if I caught his, he's caught mine." After another moment, she pointed. "He's in that direction." She got up then and looked to Mat. "Let's find a place to hide." Nori looked determined, but they could see her paws shaking slightly.

Mat nodded back, "Alright. I guess it's now or never." He began to wander, looking for an adequate hiding spot and beckoning Nori after him. Seeing her shaky movements, he set a hand on her shoulder, silently asking if she would be alright.

She gave him a grateful look in response, settling down beside him to wait.

She began moving forward, feet shuffling beneath her, before turning back with that same small smile. "Hey, if shit hits the fan, just...throw me a nice welcoming party to the monster squad, okay?" Blair asked, with a chuckle to herself. She didn't wait too long for a reply though, because she swiftly turned back around, and began moving forward again.
Wordlessly, she pulled the last cigarette from her pack, and placed it between her lips. With two shaking hands, she lit the end of it. However, not without earning a small burn to her index finger. She hissed in pain, shook it off, and shoved the lighter back into her pocket.

She spotted "Alpha", in human form, making his way casually up the street. He gave a sickening smile when he spotted Blair, picking up the pace a bit.

Blair shuddered at the sight of that awful smile, but continued to step out onto her tiny front porch. Hands still just the slightest bit shaky, she took a quick drag from her cigarette, relying on it to calm her down. It did help some, but only gradually; not fast enough for her satisfaction.

"Good to see you again." He told her. "But isn't school still going on? What are you doing here?"

She gave an innocent shrug, exhaling smoke as she spoke. "Just wasn't feeling it today." She spoke smoothly, as telling lies were often quite easy for her.

He smiled a bit at that, walking up toward the porch. "So, are you friends with my pet?"

"You mean Nori?" She automatically corrected him. A sweet smile made its way to her lips. "Yes, we're friends."

He let the correction slide, for now. "I'm surprised she had the balls to show you." He gave a slight snort and shook his head. "Not that she has any to begin with, mind you."

"Oh, I wouldn't say that, she-" Blair began, but quickly cut herself off with a drag of her cigarette. She had to remind herself that she couldn't make him angry, or things would get really bad, really fast. "Um...so! What're you doing here?"

"Well, my pet's run off, and I'm having trouble finding her. You haven't happened to see her anywhere, have you? I'm really worried." He looked her over and smiled slightly.
