Mat stood shakily, heaving massive breaths and pressing his hand to the wound on his cheek. He cleared his throat, "Uh, thanks." He looked between Nori, the creature at his feet and the flustered girl a few yards back. "So," he drawled, "would you maybe like to explain this to us?" He glanced again at Blair, "But perhaps after we get her a cot?"
"As long as it's away from him." Nori spat the response, harsh gaze focused on the limp form on the ground.
As soon as Blair was addressed, she stumbled forward, into the opening. She quirked one brow, eyes still full of disbelief. "What the hell is going on here? What the hell IS this?" She demanded, her usual grinning face twisted into a scowl.
In an effort to get them all to leave, ASAP, Nori did her best to summarize things. "Werewolf." She pointed at herself. "Asshole werewolf." She pointed at the beast on the ground. "We're getting far away from asshole werewolf." With that, Nori quickly started walking away from the clearing.
Mat glanced awkwardly at Blair, trying to give off waves of reassurance to accompany his hopefully gentle smile. "I guess we should probably follow her." He gently tugged on Blair's sleeve with the only two claws that weren't coated heavily in blood before limping after the non-asshole werewolf.
As they headed away from the clearing, Nori began to change again, soon back to normal. "If I never see him again, it'll be too soon." He growled under his breath.
Blair blinked while she let this information settle in. Once again, she was stunned into silence. She had taken in so much bizarre information at once, she felt sure she was going to faint. She let herself be pulled along, all the while mumbling a soft "What?" to herself.
When the school came into view through the trees, Nori stopped walking. "We need to get you clean and in clothes that aren't torn to shreds." He told Mat.
Mat raised a skeptical eyebrow, "Where exactly do you plan on finding clothes that fit someone my size when we're literal miles away from my home? Besides, I can just stick to the shadows, keep out of sight for the time being."
He turned his attention to Blair, "Hey, you okay there? You're looking a bit pale."

Nori glanced to her, then looked away. "...I told you two to leave me alone."
With her one free hand, she waved Mat off. "No, no, I'm alright. I'll be fine as soon as I sit down." She said weakly, stumbling over her own feet towards the end of her sentence.
Then, she looked up at Nori with a familiar grin spreading across her lips. "I told you I would figure you out, didn't I?" She said meekly.

He gave her a look in response. "And you aren't going to discuss it, interrogate me about it, or tell anyone else. Got it? And that goes for both of you."
"Besides," Mat huffed, "that's a lot of thanks for the people who just helped you away from an abusive psycho with a superiority complex. I mean," He raised his arms high before letting them drop like weights, "what the hell man? Mind explaining a bit? We're not just gonna drop this after seeing that."
"He's an asshole that found me and bit me when I was a little kid that harasses me and-." He stopped talking, jaw set. "And I don't like talking about this." He hesitated a moment before continuing. "I am grateful you helped, but that doesn't mean I want to talk about painful stuff, okay?"
Blair exhaled heavily, before rolling out the tension in her shoulders. "Look, I'm not gonna tell anybody else. Besides, everybody would think I'm crazy if I did." She told Nori softly.
Then, she turned to Mat with her arms crossed over her chest. "Um, you're not exactly off the hook either," she declared, "You've got the claws going for you and everything. Mind explaining that?"

At Nori's words, Mat took in a sharp breath. His voice softened and his eyes shifted to solemn shades of slate. "Look, I don't know all of the details, and I'm certainly no authority in this, but it's like we said earlier: if you need help, don't be afraid to ask."
Hearing Blair's question he turned to face her and deadpanned, "I'm not exactly from around here. It's a really long story," he looked several degrees of uncomfortable.

"Asking for your help would have involved saying "yeah, I'm a freak that turns into a girl monster and am having issues with another monster, please help me", and neither of you would've believed me. And besides, your helping me almost got you killed. I wasn't going to ask you to risk your life for me. And on that topic, NEVER DO THAT KIND OF THING AGAIN. I don't care how much trouble I'm in, you don't go and kill yourself to try and help!" He crossed his arms when he was done talking, before Clair's statement about Mat finally registered. "You don't smell human, either. What are you?"
"Bud, if I want to get myself killed for the sake of another sentient being, I will. It's my life." Mat stated in a way that made it clear he was not going to tolerate any further arguments. "And, as aforementioned, I'm not from here, I look different, let's just leave it at that."
"You know what I am, so how is that fair?" Nori questioned him. "I vote none of us keep secrets like that?" He looked to Blair. "You're just a person, right?"
After being asked that question, Blair blinked at Nori, then looked down at her figure. After a second, she looked back up at him. "I mean, last time I checked, yeah." She confirmed.
