Once she was back in, Atl carefully took the ring off and placed it on the deck before pulling himself back in as well.
Alex grabbed the ring and placed it back upon his own hand.
Atl looked to Alex when he was back in the water. "...What if tries again?"
"We'll figure it out."
Jamie looked towards Yume. "Well, we should probably be going. Those aquarium workers could show up any minute now."
"But..." He looked to the mermaid girl. How was he going to explain a new mermaid showing up out of nowhere?
Jamie looked to where Atl looked and realized that they might have a problem.
"We hide her and myself in your cave?"
Atl looked surprised, but not upset, by that. "Staying?" He asked Alex.
"Why not, I've got nothing else in my life."
Atl smiled a little. "Thanks..."
"Besides, I can teach you how to read."
His eyes went wide. "Really?!" He smiled brightly.
"It'll be a little hard under water but I'll make it work."
"Oh... can't get wet?"
"Unless you've invented water proof paper."
He gave a slight smile and shook his head.
"We'll make it work buddy, I promise."
Kali woke up in the tank and looked around
