Nomti woke up with Nikita and looked at her mother worriedly, curious but hesitant to ask since it wasn't his business, but he had this sinking feeling it was about her father.
(Very smart! It is her father. )
Suddenly Nikita knew. "Nikita, your father s dead. He was killed in a shooting at work." Both Nikita and her mom began to cry. Nikita snuggled deeper into Nomti. "How could this even happen?", she keeps asking herself.

(Well dur. It wasn't too hard to guess )
Nomti felt a few tears appear in his eyes as well and held Nikita even tighter.
This was the first time he met her mother, and he hated that it was on such a horrible occasion.

(I was kind of being sarcastic. :p)
Nikita just closed her eyes, trying to stop crying. Nikita's mom stood up, wiping tears from her eyes.

Nomti gently brushed tears from Nikita's eyes with his thumb and kissed the top of her head, "I'm so sorry..."
"I-It's okay.", she said, looking at her mom. "Mom, you can go I'll be alright here with Nomti.", sh said. Her mom seemed hesitant but decided she could get some early planning on the funeral. She sighed heavily and left the room.
"No... It's not... It seems that all the girls I fall for either have lost a parent or lose one," he whimpered and kissed her cheek.
She looked up at him with one eyebrow raised, "How many girls has that been?", she asked, wiping another tea from her face. She hated being seen like that, but who could blame her? Her father had just died.
"One other... Her mom died in 9/11," he said quietly and held her as close as he possibly could.
"That's terrible!", she gasps, looking into his eyes. She needed anything to get her mind of her father.
(In case you can't tell, I'm suffering from a bit of writer's block. )

(Pfft, I've had writers block for over a year. Look at my DA page. I haven't submitted another chapter for anything in forever)
"Yeah... Her birthday was on the 14th of Spetember... I wish she had never gotten that dog for her birthday," he chuckled a bit, a small smile creepin onto his face.

(Lol, well mine is horrible!)
"Why?", she asked. One thing some people might find annoying about Nikita was that she asked a lot of questions. She had to know everything!

"Stupid Chihuahua... His name was Magic Johnson. Everytime he saw me, he would bark and charge at me and bite my toes and ankles... He was a demonic little dog... He saw me as competition for Danniel I guess," his smile became a bit more sadz
Nikita's smile however grew bigger, "One of my ex-boyfriends had a dog like that. Except it was a doberman.", she explained. She always said she hated the blame dog, but deep down, she loved him.
"That chihuahua was the subject of many nightmares for me... At least she never brought him to the beach..."
"Oh I love the beach.", she said quietly, sniffling a bit. She thought about when he had gone to the beach with Jack, her old bofriend and he brought his doberman. She truely missed the doberman and wouldn't mind having one of her own.
He laughed, "So do I... I found a very secret spot... Only she and I knew about it," he said with a sad smile, "It was beautiful at sun rise and sun set..."
Nikita smiled, "Did you used to live by the beach?", she asked, thinking about what he had said about the sunrise and sunset.
"Yeah... Florida..." he said quietly and pulled her closer, like a small child holding a stuffed animal in a storm.
"I always liked Florida. I had some family down there.", she explains. She snuggles closer to Nomti. She felt safe around him, like nothing could hurt her.
