"It was too hot for my mom, she's a regular jackal, so we moved. My dad and I didn't care though. Heat doesn't bother or affect us hardly at all... God, I miss Florida... I miss Danielle... I even miss that stupid chihuahua," he said quietly, enjoying how close Nikita was getting to him.

"I know how it is. I miss the doberman too." she smiled. She was now making plans in her head for summer vacation to Florida.

Nomti just began to him quietly and rolled onto his side, pulling Nikita as close as he could.

"Nomti, when are you going to leave this hospital?", she asked. It wasn't that she didn't mind staying with him, she just hated hospitals. They really freaked her out. She smiled up a Nomti. This was probably the closest they had been since they began going out.

"I got shot in the chest. I'm lucky to be stable, much more so alive. It'll be about two more weeks," he answered solemnly.

"That's kind of what I figured.", she sighed, getting off the bed. "I'm really sorry Nomti, but I think I should go home and help my mom with the funeral.", she said, pulling out her phone to call her mom.

He nodded, "Of course. It's much more important. I'm fine... Kind of anyways... You should be at home."

Nikita smiled, hanging up her phone. It would be a while before her mom came. She walked back toward the bed, "Thanks for understanding Nomti.", she says, laying one hand gently on his shoulder.

"Of course," he smiled and placed her hand on top of his.

Nikita sat down on the chair beside Nomti's bed. "I will come visit everyday after school until you are allowed to go back to school.", she says quietly.

He blushed at this; it was a big sign of commitment. He sat up and placed one had on the back of her head then hesitantly pulled his head to hers and kissed her lips.

Nikita's cheeks got hot. She smiled softly though before kissing Nomto back. She had never met a boy like Nomti. He truely cared, unlike her other mistakes. She hoped that that fox, Kristina wouldn't steal Nomti away from her. Nikita had heard her mention she liked Nomti before... Plus, Kristina was head cheerleader. Although, Nikita doubted Nomti was into cheerleaders.

He closed his eyes as they kissed and after pulling away, lightly brushed a hand across Her cheek. In the background, the sound of the heart monitor beeping had sped up significantly.

Nikita laughed softly as she heard Nomti' s heart monitor. Suddenly she realized her mom had been at the door. She thought her cheeks might ignite. She stood up, "Mom!" Why hadn' t she signaled she was there?!

His own cheeks turned bright red as well and he couldn't say anything, he just stared stupidly at Nikita's mom.

Nikita looked back, "I will be back tomorrow okay?", she said before turning around to glare at her mother.

He nodded, "Bye Nikita," he gave a slight wave and after she walked out he whispered, "I love you..."

Nikita waved, "Bye.", a hint of sadness visible on her face.

Once home, Nikita ran up to her room. Their whole yard was full of cars; their house full of people. Some of which she hardly knew. Some kids from school were there, even the ones she didn't know or didn't like. It's funny how suddenly everyone cared about her...

Nomti slowly fell asleep in his bed, feeling a bit queezy.

It was late before everyone was finally gone. Nikita had shut off her phone, laptop... Anything anyone could use to contact her. Right now, she just wanted to be alone. Her mother came up to her room when everyone had dispersed, "Nik?", she asked, knocking softly. "Come in.", Nikita sighed. Her mom came in, gently sitting on the foor of the bed, tears in her eyes. Nikita didn't even look at her mom as tears came to her eyes as well. "Things will get better.", Her mom promised, rubbing Nikita's arm softly. "No it's not.", Nikita said under her breath. Her mom must've heard her, "Yes they will Nikita. You'll see." Nikita winced as the harshness in her mother's voice. She didn't say anything. "What is wrong with you?", her mother asked. "Are you kididng me?!", Nikita demanded, sitting on the edge of her bed. "We had to move here. My dad died. I hate my new high school. Why would I be happy?", she gets up, walking out of the room. "Besides Nomti.", she thought sadly, walking right out the door. "Nikita! Get back here!", her mom raced down the stairs after her. "Make me.", was all Nikita said before slamming the door and walking out into the night.
