Kade (played by Rimarue)

Kade felt indignation flare up in his chest as he peered up at the castle. It's walls stretched terribly high over the heads of the arriving students and he could only barely see the people walking along them. It was impressive even to him of course, but while it might have felt like an opportunity to most, it seemed like exile to him. It wasn't fair. He'd only asked a simple question of which he felt he deserved an answer. It was only a small matter that he'd asked it perhaps a million times before his mother finally grew sick of it. Sick of him? Kade didn't see the difference. She'd packed him up a week before and sent him here where he was supposed to learn about magic in a safe environment for witches and warlocks. He sulked silently as he made his way past the gates with the rest of the student body.

Many seemed to be first years like him, eyeing their surroundings with an obvious awe as they lugged in suitcases and bags. Of course, those stronger in magical ability (and more skilled surely) appeared to have spelled their bags into floating along with them. Kade would've of course but he liked carrying the bags and imagining that they were his worldly burdens. "Please drop your possessions off by the gate. They will be taken to the dorms and you will be given a room number after the assembly." A witch in green robes stood by the gates, her wand pressed to her throat. Kade eyed her for a moment before glancing around. Strange creatures milled around with suitcases and bags already on their backs or held in several sets of thick arms. Their bodies were somewhat misshapen and lumpy and it waashard to discern head from torso. Kade shuddered as he wondered just what could've happened to make them look like that. He glanced away and set his bags down by a wall as the witch had instructed before pausing and glancing around.

Students were flowing in through the gate like a river while experienced witches and warlocks ushered them forth. The ground was comprised of cobbled stone and the walls of the castle stretched upwards, arching together at the very top. There were three walls coding in the space. The one directly across from the gates had a door almost as large as the gates themselves and appeared to open into a garden of black and white. The wall to Kade's left had two smaller doors, both made of wood with two windows on either side. They were dark however and he didn't wish to go figure out what was inside. The wall on the right contained two similar doors, though both were open. An elderly warlock was directing students through the doors. Kade scowled, slouching down as he followed the flow of students through the doors and into the castle. He couldn't wait for the year to be over.
Crow Du' Evard (played by Miss)

[And so, our story starts with another playful number from the orchestra.]

Crow had left for the castle grounds early in the morning, her own house a mess that has never seen cleaning. Approaching the gate, she lifts a dirty-clothed hand, ushering her cardboard box forward. It walked with dark, metallic legs and had a mouth in the front. Shaking and rocking about, it absorbed its limbs and sat by the gate. Inside the small box were two books, one black book with a filthy cover and the other a blue book with a strange, white symbol on it. Beside the books, a sheathed dagger was settled, the pommel a rounded, silver knob.

The lack of sunshine showed on Crow’s face as she looked at the castle. Her eyes followed the building’s design, carving it up and down. There could have been a brief moment that her sharp, yellow eyes caught sight of Kade, but her expression didn’t change much. He was currently just another student.

The student mob pushed past her and after a while, Crow merged with it to travel through the doors and into the castle. Or she would have, if she didn’t stop abruptly as something had caught her attention. That garden looked like--someone bumped into her and she turned around to face them. They apologized, but Crow regarded them coolly, “I’m not sorry.” But she was very honest about it! Once her message was understood to the other student, she continued into the welcoming hall, she guessed.
Isaiah Merlin (played by Raider-jack29)

Unlike most students arriving here, he didn't feel bitter. Nor did he feel a grudge twords the world, this was just the only school nearby willing to teach him considering his family background.
He walked down the well worn paths of the school in no hurry, seeing as he had ample time.
He approached the broad gates with a bit more of a skip in his step as opposed to the other students who seemed to have no interest in being here at all.

He let his forest green eyes show his mirth, as his dark brown hair blew by in the wind, framing his olive skinned face.
Along side him was his sister, who shared more with their father as he did with their mother.
With her pale skin and golden locks that framed her in an elegant fashion.
They both wore proper clothing as he was dressed in a white button up shirt and black tie, accompanied by a pair of black slacks and dress shoes.
His sister meanwhile wore much the same, only substituting a black knee length skirt and tights for slacks.
Strapped to each of their sides ,his on his left and hers on her right, was an Athem. A dagger used in traditional, much older practices of a young witch or warlock, that allowed one to reach into the souls of allies or victims, and either heal them or destroy them.
But since it fell out of practice years ago they are more kept in their family and passed down through the generations for sentimental value then anything.
