In a world where magic users and the supernatural are hated and feared, there lie a few settlements for magical people and supernatural folk to reside. The largest out of those is Haven.

Haven is a fairly large city full of magic and supernatural creatures, and all are welcome, from the ordinary magic-using human to the strangest supernatural creature. One moment you might see someone showing off their latest spell, and the next you might see someone fade into the shadows.

It's a generally peaceful city, with everyone knowing if they break a rule too badly, they could be banished from Haven, and it isn't very safe outside.

There is a magical barrier around Haven, enchanted so normal humans cannot enter or exit. Bombs, missiles, and weaponry cannot enter either, preventing terrorist attacks from normal humans. However, if a bomb does hit, the city will shake as if there was an earthquake.

Haven is far away from any normal human civilization, in a grassy field large enough to hold the place. There is a small village nearby, but it's part of Haven. The magic barrier leads to it as well, and protects it. The village is known as Moral.

Haven is a modern city, and has a metal frame installed underneath. The main forms of travel are hoverboards, which are magnetic and work with the metal frame, teleport checkpoints scattered around the city, and magic, of course! Some people fly or walk, though.

In Haven, there's an arena in the heart of the city where citizens can battle if they want. Surrounding it are the 3 major schools of magic:

Sunset University, a school like a community college about basic magic;
Prism Institute, a school offering courses on magic-tech engineering;
and Nightcloud Community School, which is essentially a preschool, elementary school, middle school, and high school in one building, but adapted to Haven by teaching students of magic, the supernatural, and Haven's history, along with helping them with any abilities they have.

Instead of the normal Internet, in Haven, they have the Magic Communication System. It's like the Internet, but is only accessible from computers enchanted to do so. All computers in Haven can access the MCS, and the Internet. The MCS differs from the Internet in that it's powered by magical servers that never shut off or hiccup, it's free to use, protected better, and is a hub for different magical settlements to chat and access information regarding magic, settlement laws, and to arrange for a trip to other settlements.

Travel between settlements is extremely rare, and is expensive and difficult to arrange. Teleportation is the safest option at this point.

Jamie walked through the streets, looking bored.
"Yeah, I kinda need to ask a favor, boss, if that's alright..."
Chris was talking on his phone, apparently to the boss of his workplace... though Chris hasn't been there very often lately due to... circumstances.
"No! No! I'm not faking! No, I'm not tired of work! I really am sick... again... I know, I know, I've been saying this a lot lately- No! I am NOT a magical being, gosh..."
The man looked down at his Iolite Amulet hanging around his neck while saying the last sentence, starting to sweat a bit.
"Yes, I heard about Chrissy Iolite, and I swear it's just a coincidence that I can't come whenever she goes into hiding! YES, I am SURE I'm not her! But don't you think that maybe, just maybe, she isn't actually as bad as you all think and she just tries to be a hero? ...No, of course not, magical creatures couldn't possibly be good, forgive my stupidness..."
Chris rolled his eyes.
"Where I think that Iolite girl went? Well, I'm sure she's not in Haven, that would be way too obvious. She must surely be in one of the smaller settlements." he said while walking the streets of the very settlement of Haven.
"Anyway, I would need to work from home again for another while, if that's alright... I-It's not? I-I swear, I'll be back as soon as possible! Yes, I promise, please don't fire me! Phew, thank you SO much, boss, you're the best, I love you, bye!"
Chris hung up and paused for a while before he said: "...'I love you'? Did I just say I love my boss!? Oh god!" He facepalmed himself.
The man then looked up into the sky.
"How did things turn out like this? Sure, helping other people with my powers was a pain, but I still did good deeds. So why do they still hate me? Just because they're scared of my powers?"
He sighed.
"I never thought I would need to move into a settlement like Haven, but the 'normal' humans practically chased me into it... heh... another one to my jinx count I guess..."
His head down, he kept on walking down the streets, lost in his depression.
Nicky (played by emilyn8522)

Nicky walked towards the entrance to Haven. Taking a deep breath she entered. A chill went down her spine, but she continued forward. She looked around, hoping to find someone to explain the basics to her. She spotted another person walking by and ran over.
"Hey, I'm new here. Can you help me?"
Lupus 'Raziel' Shado (played by Lupus-Raziel-Shadows)

A tall man with long white hair, tied loudly at the nape of his neck, and solid red, glow eyes walked slowly down a street. A furry golden tail swayed slowly begin him, partally hidden by his medieval styled clothes. He had been in Haven for a while now. His mother had sent him to visit and learn from the citizens almost a year ago. Of course he enjoyed the change. Bright sunlight and friendly people were more enjoyable to him then constant darkness, demons and the souls of the dead. But he got used to it, it was his mother's duity to stay there, being the goddess of death and all.

The person continued on walking. Nicky sighed and sat down at a nearby bench. She tensed as her head started to throb. She rested her head in her hands. She rubbed her temples and tried to block the oncoming the onslaught of voices. She tried to focus, but some still managed to slip in. The sounds of people screaming for help filled her mind. She clutched her head.
"Dammit..."
She voices fell silent and a chill went down her spine. Looking up she looked right into the eyes of the ghostly figure of her twin brother. She sighed and clenched her hands into fists.
"Leave me alone!"
People nearby looked at her like she was insane. The figure disappeared and the voices come back. She clutched her head as the tears started to drip down her cheeks.
Jamie turned towards Nicky. She was on the opposite side of the street. "The heck?"
Nicky (played by emilyn8522)

Nicky quickly wiped her tears away and tried to shut out the voices. She glared over at Jamie. "What you looking at?!"
Jamie glared back and rolled her fiery eyes. "Nothing." She casually sat down at a nearby bench and took an old flip phone out of her backpack, checking the time and seeing if she had any messages.

She slumped back and rummaged through her backpack. She pulled out her ipod and earbuds and started to play music. She took a deep breath and tilted her head towards the sky. The voices ceased and she let out a sigh of relief.

Nicky was getting ancy, she needed food and a nice bottle of beer. The only other person around to ask was Jamie. Nicky got up and walked over to Jamie. She sighed.
"Is there any pub, tavern, or someplace around here where I could get a drink and a decent meal?"
"Dunno, I've only been here a few days," Jamie said, not looking up from the small flip phone in her hand.
Nicky (played by emilyn8522)

"Well shoot, do you at least know a place where I can rest?"
"There might be a hotel or something around here?"
Nicky (played by emilyn8522)

"Ok, well I guess I'll go look."
Nicky grabbed her bag and headed down the road. After asking a few random people she found a tavern. She walked in and took a seat in the back, trying not to draw attention.

She got some soup and had some beer before paying and leaving. She then asked around if there was a inn or hotel nearby. She walked down the road scanning the buildings for the hotel sign.
There was a loud "crack" as Angelo appeared, slightly suspended about a foot in the air. He fell down stumbling as he tried to regain balance and ultimately ended up falling down. "Ooowwww." The small child groaned as he stood. He was wearing robes of high quality, and they didn't have a speck of dirt from the ground it had just came to a sudden meeting with. He looked around, eyes swirling from a pink to a bright green and decided to settle on yellow. "I need to work on my height it seems." He sighed.
"Hey kid are you all right?....that was quite the fall" Miles said while on holding a paper delivery shoulder bag. Miles was a tall muscularish teen. He was wearing a plain white tee shirt with his paper route's logo on the back. "Do you need any healing?... I'm playing it wasn't a serious fall..." he continued to ramble on like he usually does.
Not to worry, Mister. I've had a lot worse. But I do appreciate the concern." He smiled his toothy grin before looking around. His eyes swirling to different colors. "I do hope I have the right place."
Miles stuck his left hand out for a greeting,"Hi I'm Miles what's your name?" He said grinning "Where are you headed?"
He shook his hand. "Angelo Valare. I don't really have anywhere specific I'm headed. I just arrived." He pulled off his hood revealing his pure white hair, his oddity being that he was only thirteen.
