The mental institute takes place underground, directly below a hospital that has been shut down since 1987. This asylum serves as a place for the crazy and mentally unstable people with hope to get better again. This place also serves as a research facility, since there will probably be kids around the same age as you, so you can meet new friends or end up ripping each others heads off! Anyways, this place is impossible to escape from, and you're gonna be stuck here for a while. The doctor gives you weekly medication to take to help control your stability. Sometimes the pills work, sometimes they backfire and we need to lock you up. You have to see the psychiatrist once every three days to talk about how you've been feeling and if you're ready to leave yet. Your goal, as an insane patient is to find a way out of this crazy place, you don't like it here, and you plan to find a way out. The doctors, nurses, and psychiatrist's goal is to keep you in here and help you get better, but you have other plans. To escape and to kill.

Zed, better known was Z, has been in this mental asylum for thirteen years. He was first sentenced to this place at the age of four. Not to get too much into detail, but the child ended up slaughtering his parents, and was put here as an only resort. Apparently prison didn't work; he kept escaping, so the police thought an insane asylum would be the best bet for him. Z is currently sitting in his room, waiting. He can't do much else, due to being held in a straightjacket, tied with several chains, and a mask to prevent any malicious behavior, followed with a dog collar on his neck with a lock attached to it. What is he waiting for, of course?
A friend.
A victim.
A target.

(also, mind if I ask you something??)

Scarlett had lost track of the amount of years she had been in this asylum. In fact, it had been so long that she had almost forgotten why she was there in the first place. The memory was there plain as day, while also slipping from her mind. She had murdered her parents and one of her sisters. And the only person she ever loved had locked her up in here. She had found some of their treatments to be a bit cruel. Like the medications they gave her? She hated what they did to her, assuming that they even worked. Nonetheless, she was sitting in her padded room, in a straight jacket and drawing patterns on the floor with her feet until they decided to let her out.

Z waited, until finally, his prayers were answered. A guard had walked in his room at three in the morning, with his meal. The guard had a tray accompanied with a piece of raw steak on his right hand, and a taser in his left. Z slowly formed a crooked smile, happy to find his new "friend." The guard threw the steak at Z, to which he caught it in his mouth, quickly devouring the whole thing. Z looked down at the floor, his deranged hair covering his peripheral vision.
"Come close." He whispered to the guard.
The guard responded with his footsteps hesitantly moving towards Z. You could tell this guy was new, mainly because he did what the psychotic guy in a straightjacket told him to.
Z's smile turned all the more menacingly painful, and waited until his target was close.
When the guard was feet away from Z, he pounced at him, like a tiger grinding on its prey.
He tackled the man, grabbing his taser from his hand before he could even acknowledge what was going on, and killed him easily.
Z smiled at his marvelous work, and unlocked himself with the keys in the guard's pocket.
Now all he needed was the lock to the cell door.

(what do you mean by it's also a research facility? Like, in what way?)

Scarlett continued to draw with her feet, until she heard footsteps outside the door and I to the hallway, headed to a room down the hall. She got out of bed and walked over to the door, pressing her head against the glass window to get a better view. She stared and couldn't help but start laughing maniacally when she realized this guard was new.

"Ooooooooooo your gonna geeeeeet iiiiiiiiiiiiittt"

She sings to herself repeatedly. She does this for a minute before getting bored and walking back over to her bed and flopping down on it, staring at the ceiling, wriggling in her straight jacket.

"Maybe someone will get out of here..."

(By that, I mean they put us in cells and run experiments on us. Torturing experiments, to make that clear.)

Z scanned the room, getting a better look at his surroundings. Apparently being in multiple chains really changes how you see a room.
He checked the guard once more, making sure he had taken all the valuable belongings on him.
Z saw something shiny coming from his back pocket, and grabbed it.
"Whoops, sorry bout that. No homo, dude." He said, grabbing the object from his pocket.
"Hello, beautiful." He said, gazing upon the key that he had oh so dearly missed.
He used the key on the door and saw that it worked. He smiled to himself, making sure none of the guards heard the 'click' of the door when he opened it.
He took the key out of the door, locking it once again, and thought.
"Experimenting time is coming up in about ten minutes. I can wait until then to make a break for it, and maybe take someone with me as a partner in crime." He said, smiling to himself.
"Until then, I wait." He said, sitting down and humming quietly, anticipating for his time to strike.

(lol gotcha! I'm totes down with that! I've got an idea though!!! What if the 10 minutes pass and they drag Scarlett to run their expierments. To avoid drawing suspicion he waits until they take her back to recruit her? Only if you want to tho. Also, if you DID want to do this, would you wanna be the scientist/psychiatrist who do the expierments?)

Scarlett chuckled to herself as she made conclusions and answered her own assumptions about what might have just happened. She rolls out of bed and semi rolls across the floor laughing.

"Bastard got what was coming to him!!"

She says before laughing and sighing, looking up at the window and a frowned spreading across her face. She learned how to tell time based on the position of the moon and the stars and the sun. She swore under her breath as she spoke.

"Shit...10 minutes until they nab someone..."

(Great idea! Sure, I'll be the scientist doing the experiments!)

After ten minutes, it was time for the scientist to pick his new victim to torture and experiment on. The scientist, better known as Dr. Oxyn, went through a brief summary of all the patients here. He concluded that the best one to run a variable on would be Scarlett, in room 6. The guards walked down the halls, and approached her door. They opened it slightly, peeking in to find the girl sitting on the floor, drawing. They grabbed her with no precaution, and strapped her on a gurney, rolling her towards the doctor's "office".

Scarletts head snapped up when she heard the keys go inside the lock, and noticed the guards with the gernie. After a moment it dawned on her that they had picked her to perform their expierments. Before she could even do anything they yanked her off the floor, and before she knew it they were wheeling her to the office. One hell of an office. Everybody in the facility knew about what they did, and the sad part was that nobody could stop it. All she could do was sigh as they wheeled her away.

Z watched as the experimenting began. He saw the guards pick Scarlett, the girl across Z's room as the next victim. Z didn't know much about the girl, except that she was just as unstable as he was.
'Target found..' Z thought.
He quickly unlocked his cell door, and swiftly made his way inside the "office", making sure no one had seen him. He watched as the scientist, Dr. Oxyn, pulled out a needle and smiled at the girl.
"How are you this fine morning, Scarlett?" He asked her.

Scarlett stared at Dr. Oxyn, eyeing his every move as he pulled out a needle and approached her. She tilted her head at his question, and after a moment her head hung low, shortly before she started laughing. Her laughing gradually became louder and more chaotic before she just stared at him with a grin, eyes wide.

"I think we both know the answer to that question."

She said before gathering up as much saliva as she could in her mouth and spitting it in his face, laughing once more.

"And that's for everything your about to do to me."

The doctor gave her a disgusted look, followed with him shaking his head.
"I've had worse from better people. Or, rather, I shouldn't use that word around you. 'People' just doesn't really fit with what you are, huh? I think the best word to use in your case is 'Monster.' Plus, like I said earlier, I've dealt with way worse than you." He said.

Now was Z's time to strike. He walked out of the shadows, spinning the key to his cell door in his hand.
"You've had worse? What about a breakout?" He asked, grinning widely.
The doctor was caught off guard for a second, which was just enough time Z needed. He lunged at the man, tasing him until he saw the whites of his eyes rolled back into his skull. He took down the rest of the guards swiftly and stealthily, without a sound to be made.
Z laughed at his work once again, and faced towards the strapped up girl.
"Hey, doll face. Ready to finally leave this hellhole?"

(another question. Are they actually gonna escape? Or should we start planning what happens when they fail? )

Scarletts eyes widened as she saw a emerge from the shadows and take out the doctor and the rest of security. She just grins, and watches z approach her and she busts out a big grin.

"Hiya handsome. I knew the new guard was getting what he deserved, but I should have known it was your cell he was visiting."

She says before recalling his last statement. She busts out into a huge smile and nods.

"Hell yes. What's the worst that can happen? They catch us and torture us some more? I'm already next whether I make it out or not."

Jean walked around her cell and stopped and started punching her cell wall repeatedly and her knuckles start bleeding slowly. She continued punching the wall and she admired how much blood was over the wall.

(I feel like if they escape, the roleplay would end short, but if they fail, that'd be hella anticlimactic. How about they escape but go back for more people once they are sentenced here, while facing the guards and stuff? Oh and by the way, Z and Scarlett's relationship reminds me of Harley Quinn and the Joker xD)

"The worst that can happen is we die, which honestly, is fine by me. As long as I'm out of this place, it don't matter to me. Now.. Let's see. An easy route out of this place where we won't interfere with the guards.. Got any ideas, sweetheart?" He asked, looking back at the girl.

(omg it does!!! But now that jeans in it I feel like we should try to include her. But we can also make it work with going back for more people. So here's my idea: z and Scarlett make a break for it, but at some point when they're close to getting caught, Scarlett stays behind so z can get out. Z makes it out, but over time he goes back in to rescue Scarlett and Jean. Meanwhile I kinda want Scarlett to go through the expierments to see What it would do to her mental state xD anyway, what do you think?)

"Maybe, pumpkin. I know there's a secret entrance in the kitchen behind one of the shelves that leads outside. They use it to dispose of people they killed while expiermenting. And since it's not uncommon for patients to work in the kitchen, we could blend in."

She says smiling at him. Though suddenly she remembers she's in a gernie and just chuckles.

"Unless you plan on wheeling me out."

(You are filled with great ideas. You should be hired as a writer or something. Also, great plan. I bet Scarlett would go a bit crazier with the experiments and such.)

Z chuckled at her humor.
"As tempting as that sounds, I'll pass," He says, while checking the scientist for the keys to unlock her.
He sees the keys are hidden on his necklace, and grabs them.
"Sneaky, sneaky." He says, twirling the keys on his finger. He walks over to the girl and holds the keys inches away from her, before putting them back in his pocket.
"What's the magic word??" He asked, teasing the girl.

(lol thanks for the praise! And yeah, she's still a character in development so I'd like to try things out! Also, come time for scarletts torture thing, you still ok being the scientist? You have a better idea of what kinds of expierments they do than I do.)

Scarlett just chuckles as he holds the keys in front of her and then hides them. Scarlett just rolls her eyes and stares at him.

"If I believed in magic I would just use my telepathy to take the keys and unlock myself, peach fuzz."

She says before glancing up at the ceiling before laughing. I'm

"Someone will come for me eventually, whether you unlock me or not."

(I don't know what idea to add so...)
Jean stopped punching the wall and some guards walked in and strapped me down to a chair. "Let me out, you worthless ingrates. I'm going to kill every last one of you." She said calmly as she tried to wiggle out of the straps.

(I'll be the scientist, yeah. I have to go walk my dog for a bit, so ill be back in like an hour.)
"I believe what you meant to say was, "thank you," but close enough."
He grabbed the keys out of his pocket and unlocked the girl.
"Now, were did you say that secret enterance was?"
