Ever since coming back to Earth from Dyrmir and saving it, she was clearly pissed off and shocked all at once. Aether went back to their college dorm to do some things while she tweaked with the ship.
It was smoking but she had the brains to work on the ship that she stole from the Nygs.
Nyala was also pissed off because her cousin, Quinn was dead. She groaned sitting up and getting the wrench and went back under the ship and started working on it again.
My parents are out there...Somewhere.
Nyala finished working on the ship for now and took a drink of her water bottle nearby, her face and hands covered in oil and dirt.
Her adoptive sister, Luyi a Nagi (Female Naga. Also, her name is pronounced Loo-yi) slithered over. "Hi Nyala." She said.
"Hey Luyi." Nyala said, looking at her sister. "How's Delilah?"
"Mom is fine." Luyi said. "Where is Aether?"
"He went back to our dorm."
"Oh." She said. "Well, where did you get the ship?"
"Somewhere." Nyala said, glaring at the ship that was currently smoking. "What happened? Where are the Nygs?"
"The army killed as many of them before they hurt anyone else." Luyi replied.
"Anyone else?" Nyala asked. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Well...Elijea got hurt along with Mark." Luyi said.
(Elijea is pronounced the same as Elijah its just spelled differently.)
"I don't care about Mark. He killed Aether's dad. He's an asshole. Is Elijea okay?" She inquired.
Luyi nodded. "Yeah. He's okay. He's in the hospital. The warmth was sucked from him."
"That happened to Aether too." Nyala said. "If you don't mind, I'm quite busy."
Luyi nodded. "Okay. Bye."
Luyi left and Nyala groaned. Elijea was hurt too? Great. Quinn was dead, her only cousin left was Chastity, but they weren't cousins by blood. Chastity was another Achim.
Nyala kept the tears away, burying her face in her hands, leaning on the ship.
Her friend was hurt and Aether had been too. Why was this happening? She took her hands from her face and started working on the ship.
When she took another break she started walking on the sidewalk, the sidewalk busy. She kept herself from the anger, gaining her calm.
Nyala had a thought going through her head, though it made no sense.
I'm just another one among the crowd.

Magic is rare, but not unheard of. Mundane characters may or may not believe in it. Magical characters may form small and exclusive pockets for study, protection, etc.
