Hello! It's been a little while since I returned to this site, so I figured what would be better to kick things off than opening an RP! Though this universe/RP will be pretty open, I DO have some ground rules to lay down.
1. NO GOD-MODDING
2. I won't tell you not to use profanity, just don't swear like a sailor
3. PLAY NICE. I don't want any big fights between RP'ers outside of the in-character world
4. Whatever character you choose to play MUST be in the Navy and MUST be either the rank of Gold I or below. Reading further you'll understand.
5. Replies must be in paragraph form! I would like to keep this as interesting as possible!
6. NO OP CHARACTERS. You can't have some all-powerful ninja/demon/cyborg dude that can't lose a single fight.
7. HAVE FUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!
(Background information and structure of the RP's Universe)
I.G.F.U.G
Inter-Galactic Federation of the United Galaxies, or Federation of the United Galaxies (F.U.G) for short; an empire with its grasps expanded across the galaxies promoting the motto of, "Freedom and Equality." F.U.G has stuck it's flag and staked its claim in over 300 billion solar systems and counting. The galactic superpower doesn't prosper without retaliation though. Whether it be rebellion against the empires rule, or other organizations attempting to expand their territory, F.U.G is locked in constant conflict, with it's outermost frontiers perpetually at stake of invasion. With such large boundaries, the Federation has an even larger military in order to combat their multiple foes. With a collective military of 1.7 trillion soldiers, F.U.G has long crushed any opposition, until now. Their authority is now challenged by the Rebellion that has been dormant for a 200 years, long enough to accumulate enough firepower to confidently stand against the empire.
(Structure of the F.U.G's Military)
Divided into 2 types:
Army - Infantry, Artillery, Planetary Defense
Galactic Navy - Planetary Invasion, Stellar (Space) Warfare
Each military has it's own structure within it. Specifically how each soldier/officer is classified. The ranks of the Army are:
Naval ranks:
These ranks display level of influence, acknowledgment of fighting capability, and strategic intellect. As an example, an individual might be a Corporal, but have the rank of Steel I, meaning that they most likely displayed great combat skills. Meanwhile, an Engineer with the rank of Steel I most likely displayed a great invention that would benefit their division. These ranks DO NOT restrict an individual, ranks are rewarded, so there can be both promotions and demotions. The Galactic Navy is also held at a higher regard than those in the Army due to the Federation's control of many different territories, therefore the Navy being much more vital to operations.
(Now onto the story!)
"Sector 8 clear, battalions 118th, 123rd, 113th, and 190th, reporting to C-120 Solar System for supply replenishment and recruit orientation, on orders of Celestial Captain Brewer." The communications officer spoke quickly into his headset, sending a message to solar system C-120's Floating Fortress. The Retribution, drifted towards their designated open port on the Floating Fortress and prepared itself for docking.
"It's been a while since we left this ship, hasn't it Gladwin?" Mary Crusch, 2nd Lieutenant Diamond III, approached the Captain with a bright smile and cheerful demeanor, having already exited her station.
"Indeed it has Crusch." Gladwin Brewer, Celestial Captain Emerald II, sighed at his subordinate's remark. "Also, I know we're childhood friends and all, but can you please refer to me how you're supposed to? If nothing else, just call me Captain." Tidying up his military attire, he brushed the wrinkles from his shoulders, and stood from his chair strolling towards the Control Room's door. "I'm going to the station. Crusch, Manor, finish things up quickly."
"Aye aye sir." Xavier Manor, 2nd Lieutenant Diamond II, saluted Brewer and rounded to bark orders to the officers in-charge of docking. Brewer walked throughout the upper-deck until he reached the individual boarding doors, at which he jaunted across the platform to the greeting area. Bypassing security by flashing his Emerald bars, Brewer escaped to his private room, changing into more casual attire. After doing so, the Captain made a straight towards the station's bar. He figured relaxing for a few couldn't hurt before greeting the new cadets that were to be added to his personal team. "New night new faces, this can never get old." Beckoning the bartender over, he ordered and downed some drinks, peacefully chilling out at the bar.

This sounds fun. Could I join with this character, without his special abilities? He could rank Silver, nothing special, maybe he could have been in the service for a year or so. How does he sound?
(That sounds fine to me!)
(Yup!)
(Cool. I probably won't be able to type a decent message for a few hours, I have a bunch of stuff going on today)
(Haha, I fully understand. No problem at all.)
Two seats over from the captain sat a blonde woman in full dress uniform, the anchor of a Chief Petty Officer and the rank of Gold I. Her nameplate read Norling. With two full shot glasses sitting before her, she takes one in hand and clinks it against the other in a silent toast. Downing her glass, she says something but it is lost to the noise of the bar as she checks her watch.Leaving the second glass untouched on the bar, she gets off the bar stool and exits as fast as she can in a dress uniform.
For Hollie time had flown as she waited for her new posting. She might be slightly late at this point, but she had to stop at the bar as she always did before shipping out.

Across the room, a Silver I rank pilot sat alone, keeping to himself. His name tag read Neznakomec. He had a glass of ale in front of him, half empty on the metal table. He looked around occasionally, and glaced at the door when the Emerald officer came in, straightening up as he sat down. He shifted in his seat, sipped his drink, and walked over to the officer.
"Good evening, sir. What brings you around to a place like this?" He asked. It was polite to address your elders, so Dylan thought he had better introduce himself as well. "My name's Dylan Neznakomec," he said, holding out his hand.

As the Captain downed his last drink, finishing with a refreshed sigh, he directed his attention to the soldier that approached him. Noticing the glint of the man's silver bars, he smiled to himself. So not everyone is afraid of approaching an Emerald Celestial Captain, eh? Good. Brewer thought to himself, as the man that stood before him introduced himself. Extending his own hand, he shook it firmly. "Celest-", Gladwin cut himself off. Today, he was going to drop the formalities, after all, he had to save the intimidation for the new recruits of his personal squad. "My name is Brewer, Gladwin Brewer. Glad to make your acquaintance." Deciding to simply speak his mind, he figured it wouldn't hurt. "You know, not many are willing to nonchalantly approach someone above Diamond. I applaud you for that. I've got some time to spare before a, 'meeting', I have, so grab a seat." He gestures to the bare seat that rests next to him, with a warm smile.

After successful docking, Crusch had taken no time at all to make her way to the officer resting area. While passing through the bar area, as she through playful insults at her long-time friend, Xavier, she happened to run into Hollie on her way out. The clipboard that held information on the recruitment report slipped from her grip, sliding to the ground. "Ah, I'm sorry!" The Second Lieutenant quickly went to retrieve her belongings, as the woman's name tag and rank flashed in front of her. "Norling, right? I'm Crusch. Second Lieutenant Diamond III, Mary Crusch. Temporary second-in-command under Celestial Captain Brewer, your new assignment leader!"
Meanwhile, Xavier stood behind the clumsy officer, perpetually face-palming.

Dylan accepted the offer, and settled himself at the bar. "Thank you, sir. It's an honor meeting someone of such a high ranking. Most would turn someone like me away before they had a second thought. So, what brings you here?" Dylan asked. He wondered what the high-ranking officer was doing in a old station like this one.
(Hey mind if I join)
Hollie was already bending over to assist with picking up the spilled clipboard when she heard the rank. With papers still in hand she sprang up to give a proper salute, nervously "Y-yes Ma'am. Chief Petty Officer gold I, Hollie Norling. Apologies Ma'am. It's is my fault for rushing. This is my first assignment since getting cleared from the Hippocrates and I did not wish to be late. Again I'm extremely sorry Ma'am!" It was clear she was somewhat upset, the pitch of her voice was very high and the hand full of papers was shaking slightly. She had good reason though, after all she had just run down a superior officer...even worse, she was the second in command of her new post even if 'temporary'.
((Not at all! As long as you can follow the (general and loose) kind of posting order we have here, and can respond in paragraph form, I've no issues at all!))
"Ah well." Gladwin decided to indulge himself in another beverage, though not alcoholic. "I've stopped my brigade in order to restock on supplies. Though it may not be the most well-polished station, it's more than sufficient enough. Plus, I've got to greet my new recruits here too. Not sure why F.U.G chose here though." After finishing his small response to the man's question, he then swayed a hand toward Dylan. "And you? What brings you here?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Both Xavier and Crusch looked at Norling with a wave of mild bewilderment. "You haven't heard much about me, or us, for that matter, have you?" Crusch leaned slightly forward, closing in on Hollie's face. Rolling her shoulders back, and bending her arms, she brandished her built body, as if a form of intimidation. "You really think an apology like that is gonna cu-", Crusch was quickly cut off from her feign of intimidation as she was picked up effortlessly but the much larger man, Xavier, behind her. "You're fine. Take no mind to this dunder-head." Hardly flinching at the officer he held swiping at him, he let her go. "At ease officer. You'll be apart of the Captain's personal unit soon, which means you'll be closer to equal terms with us than any other on our ship." Waving off the erratic attacks of Mary, Xavier extended a hand. "Pleased to meet you. I'm Second Lieutenant Xavier Manor, Diamond II, temporary third-in-command under Celestial Captain Brewer."
"Me? Oh, just passing through. Looking for work. I mostly work small jobs, ones that I can get in places like this." He gestured to the bar. "I specialize in piloting ships, so I mainly apply for jobs including planetary exploration, scouting missions, the like." He ordered another drink, and sipped it casually. "The F.U.G. sent you here?" Dylan said. "And you lead a brigade? Interesting. Where are you headed?" He asked. Curious to know more, he listened intently to what the officer had to say next.
Dropping her salute to take the offered hand, Hollie gives a slightly confused expression "It's a pleasure but I'm sorry Sir, I've been tucked away in medical for a year and a half so I haven't heard about anything in at least that long. I was down on Demeter when...It-it's in my files Sir." Remembering the papers in her other hand, she offers them up "I was not given any information past the time and place for me to report in. That and I would receive more information upon reporting in. Permission to accompany you to the reporting station?"
If either of them had read her file before hand, they would know why she had spent over a year in on a medical station. While a small and short rebellion, the one on Demeter had been an especially brutal ordeal. During the opening of the conflict, Hollie had been assigned as a field corpsman cross training with her Army counterparts. In particular she retrieved and treated twelve wounded soldiers under heavy fire after her unit was caught in a ambush, suffering multiple injuries in the process. One soldier succumb to her injuries before reinforcements arrived but the other eleven wounded survived. The actions she took then resulted in her current Gold I rank.
((Gah!! I'm terribly sorry for this! I was preoccupied with school, but now that it's summer, I'm back!))
(Sorry! Back!)
"Well," pushing the finished glass towards the bartender with a nod and a payment of a few coins, he turned to face the pilot head on. "I suppose you could say we're traveling to the frontiers. I'm sure you've heard of the raging conflicts there. My brigade is to serve as a sort of, peacekeeper, you could say." Standing from his seat, he extended a hand to the man, placing it on his shoulder. "You should apply to ship some day, I'd love to have a man like yourself on board. Safe travels friend." He gave a friendly and quick salute to the man before turning to quickly change his attire for the greeting of his new recruits. F.U.G didn't allow him to see their files former to orientation, which was very odd, but he decided to just trust them.
"Ah well you see we weren't allo-", Crusch was about to explain the situation with personal files, until Manor landed a heavy, but discreet hand on her shoulder, with an intense, but not easily noticeable glare. Mary was able to easily perceive the message, and quickly flipped her words. "We simply figured that possibly word had spread from our two ships having briefly contacted each other. But it doesn't really matter at this point!" Both second lieutenants turned, and looked back at Norling. "Permission granted. Time to introduce you to your comrades."
