Charity and her husband Micheal traveled many weeks until they came upon the land they bought. Charity leapt off the seat of the wagon and stromed in the direction she thought they should be going.
"Come on Charity! Stop being unreasonable! Why are you always so damn stubborn?" he yelled after her adn pulled the reins back on the horses making them come to a complete stop.
"Micheal im telling you we need to be going west!" she argued back.
Micheal hopped off the wagon and ran up to her.
"Charity Mr. Wane said to be going north," he argued, calming down a little.
"Micheal we need to go west and im not getting on that wagon again until we do," she argued then stood her ground on the top of a hill. Micheal sighed and hugged her from behind.
"Look," he said quietly into her ear.
Charity looked up and saw rolling, golden hills. Trees were both green and autumn red for the coming winter. With a smile, she turned and tackled him with a hug and kiss. Micheal laughed and picked her up, twirling her around.
Soon they had theyre wagon set up and were heading to bed.
Cahrity woke up to the winnie of a horse and she was up in a second. "Micheal?" she called.
Micheal appeared at the entrance to the wagon and kissed her head. "Sorry but one of the horses got loose. Make breakfast and i will be back in a few minutes. I will be very hungry so make alot,m" eh said with a smile before leaving.
Charity smiled and got up, fixing her hair in a braid before getting up and making pancakes. She wited for a few hours and sighed, resigning to wash clothes in the nearby stream. A man came up to Charity and removed his hat. Charity stood and smiled but the man stood silently and saddened.
"Im sorry Miss Charity but your husband is dead.. I found him a little ways up stream. He hit a rock pretty hard and bled to death," he explained.
Charity looked at him shocked then backed away and ran to their wagon where she stayed crieing until the next morning. The locals had put together a funeral for her and her husband. Cahrity silently stood watching as they covered his coffin.
"Miss Charity. Im Beth Dale. You know your going to have to do something for winter. As it is you dont have anywhere to go and im not sure of your money amount but i do know you have to stay somewhere. There is a bachelor here and you could stay with him but you have to do something," Beth said to her and put her hand on Charity's shoulder.
Charity pulled away from her and dell to her knees next to the grave. Beth sighed then wrapped her soat around herself tighter before leaving Charity be. The rain fell heavily adn Charity was soaked in seconds.
What would she do now?... The unmarried man was her only choice.. since it wasnt proper to stay in a married couples house.. but who was he?..

(This is set in the cowboy era lol just to let you know)

A male was passing by on a black stallion and he saw the female.He was curious on why a lady would be all alone.He slowed his horse down and jumped off,tilting his hat.He looked like a young,handsome undertaker.He wore black and his hair was a bit long.

He parted his lips to speak to the woman."What are ya doing out here,ya need to get on home.There is going to be one bad storm soon."

He took his hat off.

Charity sniffled and wiped the tears from her face. Standing, she truned towards the man but didnt smile to him. "I have a wagon sir but we just finished burying my husband. I have no place to go sir," she replied.
Her hair was a bit messy but it still looked nice and she was a beautiful, young woman. Yet she looked exhausted and sorrowful. Charity and Micheal had just been married before coming here. Glancing at the sky, she saw that he was indeed correct yet sh didnt really mind to be rained on.

His eyes slightly widened."By-golly,miss...I-I'm sorry to hear that." He looked down."How about this,You come stay with me,and I'll help ya get back on ya feet for the time being.What do you say?" He put his hat back on.

Charity sighed then nodded. "Actually sir, i just need to stay somewhere for the upcoming winter and after that passes i'll buy myself a ticket to go back home on the next wagon train," she offered that proposition to him.
Then she walked up to him and stuck out her hand. "I'm Charity Davis," she introduced herself.

He sighed and grabbed her hand,shaking her hand."Nice to meet you.Im Smith,but peope call me Fang." He use to get bitten by snakes and live,also would save people from snake bites.

Charity tried to smile but it didnt quite work out. "Im sorry that im in such a mess right now Mr. Fang," she apologized then took her hand back.
Thunder rolled overhead and lightining whipped across the sky.

"Alright,Alright.I see,you can stay for the winter.It will be mighty fine not being so alone for once." He smiled and jumped on his horse."This will only take me a minute,but I need to get 3 more of my horses."

Charity nodded then walked back over to their covered wagon, where she climbed back in. She waited for Fang to get back and listened to the thunder overhead. It soon started raining but a lightly at first. Chairty picked up Micheal's hat and looked at it sorrowfully. She lost her husband and had to move in with an absolute stranger all in two days.

He soon came back with three more black horses.He approached her and placed his hat on her head."Well now missy,we better get moving befor the storm gets any worse."

Charity nodded and actually managed a small smile. "You brought the horses back for my wagon right?" she asked quietly.
All her clothes and books were inside which Micheal had complained about half the trip. He wanted to throw the books off the wagon at the first hill but Charity had stubbornly refused. Micheal had finally gave in and carried on with the books extra wieght.

"Yes,young missy." He smiled all his horses walking to where they were suppose to.He tied them up to the wagon and yawned a bit.His hair getting wet without his hat.He smiles and looks at the sky then started walking by his horse.It wasn't a good idea for them to be running.

Charity looked down at him from the wagon. "Do you need your hat back Mr. Fang?" she asked. He was getting pretty wet from the rain and she felt a little bad that she was wearing his hat. It was keeping her head dry but he could possibly catch a cold from the rain. Then she leaned back into the wagon and grabbed Micheal's hat, which she leaned out and over to Fang. She placed the hat on his head and it fit quite nicely before she sat back again.

He smiled."Why thank you young missy,but I would have been fine." They come upon a ranch that was pretty well built.All his animals were in the barn tho.

Charity looked to him then to his ranch. "You mightve caught a cold," she replied. Then she when they came to a stop, she got down from the wagon. Looking at his house, she smiled a little.
"Its a nice place Mr. Fang," she commented.

He smiles."Why thank you." he took his horses and put them in their stables then held his hand out to her.

Charity looked at his hand and hesitated before taking it softly. "Where am i staying? Im assuming that you wont have an extra bed considering you live alone," she said hesitantly trying not to offend him.

"Well now missy,I have to say you are correct about that,but I will be sleeping in the living room." He smiled lightly.

Charity looked at him then nodded and took her hand back. "You can call me Charity," she said. Then the rain fell heavier and she stepped onto the porch, looking back to Fang.
"May i go in?" she asked.

"Oh yes,just make yourself at home." He smiles and was working a bit outside.
