Drop stared back at the beast, eyes displaying her uncertainty. After a moment of silence, she addressed Amber without looking away from the wolf. “..Call them.”
She nodded and pulled out her phone and the piece of paper, typing quickly, then holding it to her ear.
Snarling and snapping its jaws, the wolf tried to look for a way onto the property.
They answered and she explained the situation and old them where they were, her voice dripping with panic.
“We’re fine,” Drop tried to reassure her. “So long as she doesn’t-“
She didn’t get to finish as the creature started bubbling out, the shapes blurring in large pockets formed. It gained feathers instead of fur but remained the same color. Those icy blue eyes taking on a burning gold hue, and the snout morphed into a sharp beak.

"Oh no! Guys you need to hurry!" You could hear Sam on the other end "Amber what happened?!"
The shade took the phone. “Bring something that can make a lot of fire! Anything that can burn her! And a silver mirror!”
Now a large crow, the beast flapped its wings to test the air currents before taking to the sky.

She took the phone back and hung up. "A silver mirror?"
“Trust m-, Duck!” She pulled Amber down as the crow flew past their heads, missing the two by mere inches. Cawing angrily, the bird began gaining altitude for speed, circling in the sky.
"I can go look for one in the church!"
Nodding, Drop agreed. "Stay clear of large windows. Who knows where it'll go next."
"Okay!" She ran inside and followed her instructions. She found one and was about to run back outside when she was caught in a demon trap, used to catch all magical beings. "Moon!"
“Mvab,” she cursed in her language. Tracking the crow, Moon looked at the open door behind her. She took a deep breath and ran inside. “Amber?!” Drop could feel her insides churning from the purity of the church. Her bare feet burned on the floors, and her lungs ignited in heat from the air filling them.
"Help!" She saw someone in the shadows out of the corner of her eye.
“Amber?!” she called again, holding her side in pain. “Keep talking!”
"Help me!" Then she fell to the ground clutching her head, screaming
The woman found her, ran over, and got to her knees, which only hurt her further. “Amber? Can you hear me?”
She couldn't hear anything other than the whispers and screams in her head
“Where are those hunters?!” Drop said bitterly. She couldn’t break the trap on her own, not with the church sucking the magic out of her. The longer she stayed, the worse she’d get. “Amber? Amber, listen to me!”
The bird demon outside dropped dead. The boys ran in and tried talking over Amber screaming
