from looking at some of the borg cube-ish corridors in the videos and these, i assume places with direct access with the computer's core are designed to allow the larger xenobeasts through for protection purposes, and many general accessway corridors are closer to our size
again i should probably think of the maxim here but i LIKE thinking about stuff like this
