So how does respawning work? I thought new monsters are added to the existing ones, but from what you're saying it sounds like the new monsters just replace the old monsters, and the old ones disappear.
On the hour, every hour, a bunch of monsters are spawned. They're added to the existing one, though there's a cap. If you whittle down the existing ones right before the hour, you're basically killing them for nothing, because the place will just fill right back up again

from what I know they are random but happen more often if you participate more (until your inventory starts getting crowded) or someone may choose to give you a gift~
There's a maximum number of monsters. Existing monsters are not replaced. A random quantity up to the cap is spawned every hour; if there's a lot already there, it's possible none will be spawned.
Throughout the hour (from :00 through :59) the only time new monsters are spawned is if the Riddle team solves a riddle.

I said Riddle team, but obviously anyone can solve the riddle if they have a guess.
