Support roles that can buff other people (but not themselves) is a concept I've toyed with the past two years

maybe have some items that can grant a protect-like status to temporarily reduce damage, something else to increase what damage you deal, etc

protect should be easy since enemies are already capable of resisting damage

It's never been quite ready for prime time by the day, though

1500 to go, and I just hit my 4000 damage mark so that's good I suppose. I can now try for 5000.

That damage might've all been me though as I was fighting this guy but my raygun kept jamming.
