Im currently working on this longing node..trying to find some movies about ancient boats! Looking into Kon-tiki, but not seeing anything about a break..

I was thinking Moana also might be a possibility, as it also involves sailing and was a movie that didn't get an Oscar as well.

Haha I was also thinking of Moana! I tried looking into that, but it doesn't seem like it =/ but I didn't look into it a lot! Maybe scholars are looking into that!

The boats they use in Moana are the same ones they use in Kontiki, right?

M-maybe? One site says the boats are from Fiji which would be a little different.

However! If we're going with the Moana theory get a load of this

Could be why they're arguing over the "break" so it's not an actual break but you know, a period of rest?

An option we can try, this break in history is called "the long pause". This is when there is the 1,000 year break in voyaging. So this could be a possible guess we could try

I also don't know if the node is referring to navigation? Could be about wind, or stars or...something to that affect? In the movie they call it "wayfinding" this could be a possibility

Edit: this article says could be due to El Niño, supernovas, ciguatera poisoning causing algae blooms.. could all be guesses

Still, not sure if this is even related to Moana. Not sure how the heart icon relates to it? Unless it's her love for the sea? 🤔

Moana'a song "How Far I'll go" is all about her longing to set sail, longing for personal growth, longing for adventure..

Her song even says "to the place I know, where I can not go, though I long to be.."
