yeah, i was thinking about this earlier. i wasn't sure how we'd find someone without PMing a newbie and potentially intimidating them.
That's my worry as well

Being invited to join in on something is rarely a negative to people just entering a community
I'm just picturing a ton of people all scooping up some poor person and carrying them off screaming with no explanation, lol
