Hacking, EMP, shooting it, and those alike do not work. I said explosives will render them useless if enough is used, like shredding the skin of a shield slowly. Lasers? Probably will work (not enough research done to know this is right or not). Energy weapons probably.
I think if you go through the hoops of having an impenetrable, versatile shield, shooting it should be very ineffective unless with high caliber weaponry as from some infantry handcannons or anti-armor rounds from tanks and turrets and the like. I agree.
Let us now break and give a breather as I head to work for 8 hours and drop dead asleep for another 8. Hope to see more character ideas. We need a dps in our party.

Oh thank god, my field of study is neurobiology and cybernetics so all the really high tech mombo jumbo I'm just sitting at the side lines going "this is fine" which, really it is. I'm honestly flattered so much effort is being put into it!
Pft
Mine is definitely not technology oriented and I am just enjoying the ride here.

My degree is nowhere near this(Biochemistry). Most of these things are by research and trivial stuff I read.
Don't get me wrong, It's not that I don't understand! It's just I don't have the time to respond as quickly (due to being on a mobile device).
So. When we doing this?
As a dropout pizza dood, I am by far the most qualified to discuss the intricacies of a scifi-shooter video game within another modern world.
I usually work evenings, but if we are going to do daily forum posts I dont think scheduling will be an issue for me. I'm ready to jump in if everyone else is, but wouldn't mind more idle chatter if DM wants to wait for more people or what not.

rolled 1d100 and got 89
Gimme dat... 71
Some more idle chatter would be nice, plus this is the perfect time to let all questions come forth, and hell even relationships between characters if there is any.
Well I planning Nano(the tanker) to be somewhat of a famous streamer of sorts? I mean who doesn't deny a 16 year old who's brought up in a military family in England who is somewhat childish and is carefree. Then I'm planning Silent(the engineer guy) who was referred by a friend to this game and was told to follow the lineup of science and engineering to maximum because his friend wanted to test something. His friend is somewhat known as a robotics engineer and gunsmith. Silent himself is a youtuber for making CGI effect videos on certain games and also does CGI effects on model tanks, robots, etc. He also did some gaming without face cam.
Anti-armor rounds will not break nanotech, it will just ricochet off. Explosive rounds on impact will do damage to the shield.

Thinking about it, it might scrap off parts of the nanobots on the shield but is not effective as much as explosives. The concept is to make Nano a somewhat of a walking tank in literal terms. Silent wouldn't be doing anything since he's somewhat of a civilian class. So magic class, what magic are there? Materialization? Fast movement? Etc?
Looks like I should put more thought into the actual "player" real world persona. I'll probably go with a nobody, someone who is plain and simply an avid fan of VRMMOs who wants to enjoy his time. He's definitely heard of the top streamers including Nano but probably doesn't watch or hold much awe for players who are famous for being entertaining rather than being good at the game (which I'm sure will be proven otherwise when they meet). He probably parties up with a few some times and leaves soon after the mission is over despite the chance at leeching off some e-fame. He is much more interested in the reclusive no-lives like the sniper Kurozenaku who spend all day playing and gather notoriety in-game.
I wouldn't mind for G30 to be partnered with another player at the start to cut back on introductions. We could be searching for the same loot, on the same quest, or just trying to get passed a pvp zone without getting ganked to death. Gimme something to work with Yurie / Ira.

Ira was probably given the game as a gift from her sister, since she needed inspiration for her sci-fi novel.
She'd probably be pretty bad at operating stuff, since she's never actually played games like this before. But for the sake of her novel, she'd do it.
Would probably be attracted to close-combat type weapons, and mid-long range too. Not sure what "class" she'd be.

Hmm I was thinking Nano was a moderate time streamer before meeting Silent. Then ever since his invention of nanotech shield, her stream boasted to top line. That also includes the increase of amount of people wanting to beat them. I'm debating if she parties with fans other than with Silent(who is with her all the time).
@Ira yeyeye. I could see G30 mentoring newbies just to boost his ego. Tutorial bot G30.
As for classes, there's a lot of possibilites. Everyone seems to be at an equal Inventor class, where it's really just the tech they create or aquire that makes them best suited for a role. Ira could use various drones to act as a spy/intel gatherer. Focus on healing medgels or being a simple mechanic. Most new players of any teambased game go for damage dealing roles, as those are the most rewarding. She could be a straight up damage dealer or "Striker" who is ironically not very aggresive and needs coaching on how to swing her massive Final fantasy sword correctly.

Well, what I imagine for civilian classes be similar to RPG or DnD or Pathfinder styles where you don't really have any skills for defending and attacking and often people consider those classes to be terrible in terms of team play and solo.
Hmmm...
I can see her sticking to her usual mid-range weapons, like throwing knives/darts/something like that. With throwable daggers as backup close-combat weapons. Would probably be all for a damage-dealer type class.
And if the player of G30 wouldn't mind her inevitable grumpy attitude- then the tutorial would be sorely appreciated/needed.

So if civilian classes are so terrible in both categories of main play, they must excel at the other side of the game. The crafting, inventing new tech, coordinating large scale scavenging businesses. Am I right thinking that Rob? Also, I think we have enough to work with in the scifi genre to not need magic. What you think Sp8?
And I could go for some healthy arguing. Sounds fun, Khaeos. Please have Ira accidentally pin cushion G30 while trying to work on her aiming.
WAIT. Should there be Mechs in Bullet Fuse? Are we Titanfall up in here? I wouldn't mind as long as they were also crazy expensive any larger than a humanoid exo-suit. A type of thing guilds would pool in funds to build.

Class ideas/names I thought of along my drive to fit with post apocalypse cyberpunk:
Blackhat - Focuses entirely on cyberware hacking and is best suited to behind-the-scenes work.
M-Pilot - Focuses entirely on their behemoth (and expensive) Mech-suits of a variety of shapes and functions. Firepower of an old world tank in a mobile package.
BioMonstrum - Super gross gene splicers who alter their bodies without cybernetics. Tentacle appendages. Flight via angelic flesh wings. Weaponized stomach acid. Spawning Eldritch monstrosities to do their bidding. They're super gross.
Guardian
Mechanic (Healer)
Striker
Quantum Wiz
Sniper
Some sort of explosives expert but I cant think of a fitting name for it.

In a game of shooters, classes other than fighting are seldomly used by players. Crafting and inventing all require skill. If there are level up system, people need to go out and fight. Those classes are often easily killed by other players. Not to mention leveling those skills and getting materials also getting them killed. Hence why I said civilian classes are a rarity by the books of it. Magic might be useful in certain cases. I doubt people would like to carry all 24 guns with them rather then put them in inventory and miraculously appear out of nowhere. Same with bullets.
Preferably to have no mechs of Titanfall. At most exo-skeleton suits similar to what some games have or specifically CoD. Be it human sized or 2 meter sized.
