"You are unfit to be Chief! I alone have the means to rule!"

The yell of your uncle resounded throughout the open steppe and clear sky. Though no echo, you can hear it travel far. At least, over the whole tribe. Even the herdmen's flocks looked up at the commotion.


I want to do a lite fantasy rp about becoming the chief to a nomadic tribe. As you can see from the opening vignette, there are a few obstacles in your way. You have to guide your tribe through a harsh schism and survive the many hazards of the steppes with them. From cold winters, foreign occupiers, and even you old tribesman under your uncle's reign.

Can you lead you tribe to greatness, or be another whisper across the steppe winds?

I am definitely interested in this roleplay and have created a character for it in preparation, but I'd like to ask a few world-building questions if that's okay to.

- Does the clan have a name yet? How about the Chief?
- Whereabouts are we setting it, technology-wise? I've designed my character with Middle Neolithic elements in mind, I'm concerned that may be too late for the feel of the roleplay.
- For the steppe location, I have small concerns that the tribe size may be too large to support without fragmentation into a smaller clan or groups. Taking into consideration that they are nomadic, everything would have to be able to be carried either by person or burden (I vaguely recall that sheep were available in the setting, but was unsure if an ox or similar beast of burden would be too far out for the setting, seeing as horses and donkeys were domesticated far later than this setting.)

Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts on these questions, and I will be updating my profile for my character accordingly once I get information.
